What are the best designer jeans these days? Acne? Balenciaga? Vintage Levis?

What are the best designer jeans these days? Acne? Balenciaga? Vintage Levis? I’m a boomer so I don’t want anything too avant-garde, but I do want something with a touch of personality.

Zoomies help me find some cool designer jeans. I would like to stay under $600 per pair. Used is fine too. Nothing ultra skinny. Comfort is great. Bootcut recs are welcome too.

for my tastes personally, depending on what vibe you’re going for. fullcount orslow and rrl by far do the most realistic and high end looking pre-fade jobs i’ve seen. sufu has reviews of them from guys who bought them and have them in person.

any collections in particular for rick? i feel like i was resonating most with them since they have the most character.

        >vintage levis
way overpriced japs drove the good stuff up to $3000+ per pair. lvc sucks too. warehouse and tcb make reproductions that are better than the originals. faithful but better cotton.

oh also big time under-rated rec:
go on grailed and ebay and look for pre-worn and faded raw denim
all you have to do is measure how long your knee is from your inseam & ask them to measure the fades so they line up with your body
people basically give this shit away and you can find some very cool unique shit designer brands can’t even hope to replicate and would charge you an adult circumcision for

        the geth jeans absolutely slap

          geth look great, especially these

a little too pricey though so might have to wait a few months and pick up on grailed. lately rick has been clicking with me, some of their shit can be too goofy for me though.

love that wash. they discounted before selling out so i bet you can find them at a good price with some patience. i’m only seeing mrporter with a 38 discounted but still in stock, and european stores but its probably not worth the customs.

Nigga wtf. 1000 bucks for jeans. Explain this purchase to me. They’re nice and all, but I genuinely can’t rationalize it when I can buy a very close approximate for 5% of the cost and still make a satisfied purchase. If you look hard enough you will inevitably find a cheap duplicate that wears nicely, and nobody, except another /fashion/ autist like yourself would notice "Umm, ew, those aren’t real Rick Owens/designer jeans… soooooo tacky!"
It seems juvenile, like the people who buy iPhones because they like branding. If the efficacy is the same I can’t justify it. I couldn’t tell the difference between this and any other grey wash denim jeans like a FLAC compared to an MP3.

            >I couldn’t tell the difference between this and any other grey wash denim jeans
then why are you even on a fashion board

            >$1000
            >expensive
lol look up how much undercover 85’s go for
            >Explain this purchase to me
you’re on a fashion board. fashion enthusiasts see value in the design work put into stuff like that. the geth jeans have a lot of things very unique to them such as the wash/overdye combo, the high rise combined with the very exaggerated silhouette, etc. you won’t find anything remotely close to the silhouette, if you do it won’t drape right because the geth jeans are a midweight denim and the only mall jeans around the same thickness are wranglers, who aren’t making a geth clone any time soon. sure you might be able to get a cheap knockoff in a few years if the garment in question becomes trendy and popular enough that normies take note of it (if you have good taste this hardly happens) but by then its kind of run its course and the only people who are going to care are the people who would have paid $1000 or waited to cop on sale for $600 in the first place. to manufacture the geth jeans isn’t like $20 its probably more like $200-300 to manufacture something of similar quality out of china and knock it off… the market for people who want to save a shekel to rip off a designer THEY LIKE’s intelligent property isn’t that big outside of zoomers because they’re all poor. get a job.

lol theres shitty no name fly by night tik tok brands selling knock offs of them for 1-2k to zoomers who’ve never heard of undercover. that’s such a good price by today’s standards.

there’s a few different versions with slightly different measurements but the japanese denim/self edge version has a full size chart https://www.selfedge.com/rick-owens?product_id=2901 they’re all gonna be around there

theres a low medium and high rise geth. even the low is very high rise keep in mind. the self edge measurements are of the medium rise.

I want as high a rise as possible. Thank you anon!

also the jap brands are going to be like 30% cheaper to proxy buy or get on rakuten from a store that ships international, than from western retailers that show up on google FYI. if you’re sure on sizing and not returning its the way to go.

    • Anonymous says:

yeah im def going to be doing a lot of returning, so would have to be american since i really don’t know what’s going to work until i try it on tbh.

  3. Anonymous says:

you know you’re paying 30% tops for the actual clothes themselves and 70%+ for the design work put into it. for the less shit designers where you’re not just paying for the brand. and if the designer is actually making cool stuff and not ripping off what more popular designers were doing a year ago. i buy art, i buy heady bongs that cost way more, i drive a completely impractical car because its cool, what’s the problem? also nice not going through life as a npc that will never be noticed by senpai, its worth it if you have the disposable income to expend. no shame in the game if you don’t. but why not if you do? assuming you’re financially responsible which to be fair some of these Black folk are not.
