Event Horizon. Though it's fairly weak on the scares. Not a movie but the X Files series always creeped me out and I wanted to watch it a few years ago and had to stop because it was too scary and now I have to sleep with the light on every night. Blair Witch I find really scary too, not so much the stuff at the end of the movie but more the middle and just the idea of being lost in a creepy forest and no matter where you walk or how far you can't get out, it's like the backrooms in a way. Langoleers was also good if you haven't seen it and you want some spooky liminal space action
Videodrome is pretty insane, most wouldn't call it a horror movie but its got some insane gross body horror and is /x/ af.
Other horror movies I like are: Mandy, Halloween (the original, its super fucking creepy with the POV stalking and breathing), Suspiria (the original one), Fright Night (80s one, goofy fun with some good scares), and Texas Chainsaw massacre
I first saw the original Suspiria when I was like 9. It terrrriiiifffiiieeed me. Kinda got me addicted to horror movies because I like the rush. Definitely enjoyed the new Suspiria too but through the lense of maturity and modernity the vibe definitely changed. Loved the audio in both.
A lot of my favorites are pretty easy (The Shining, The Thing, Alien and Aliens are my top), I'll go with some others I find incredible: >Candyman >The Witch >Tetsuo the iron man >[REC], and [REC2] >You're next >As Above, So Below >Oculus >Creep >The Taking of Deborah Logan >The Cleansing Hour >Psycho Goreman
This is all opinion: >Blew me away tier:
The Exorcist, Hellraiser (original), Texas Chainsaw Massacre,Hereditary, Let the Right one in
>Really damn good tier:
Terrifier 2, skinamarink, Barbarian, Mandy, Mad God
>Comfy viewing favorite tier;
Halloween (original), Evil Dead 2, Friday the 13th part 6 jason lives, Childs Play, the shining, Cloverfield, Lords of Salem
i watched so many random horror movies over the years and have enjoyed quite a few, wish i cataloged alot more, these ones i listed are really what comes off the top of the head tbh. i was the kid begging mom to rent me a random horror movie every week from blockbuster

It's pretty good and it talks about certain metaphysical topics that I have been thinking about. In the movie they say that demons are spirits from higher dimensions where time moves slower (which is also why dreams can feel like a long time even if they're only a few minutes because the dream realm is in a higher dimension) and that aliens aren't biological beings from other planets. They are extradimensional demonic spirits.
It is interesting because I read that in the Orthodox Church, they say that angels and demons actually do have material bodies in a way, but it is a more subtle type of matter than our dimension which is why humans usually can't see them unless they make themselves visible.
They don't they require hosts to latch onto, anyways or are parts of our consciousness (72 Demons of Goetia/Shem HaMephorash arch angels which are used to subjugate the lesser beings known as Demons. Negative/Positive energies.)
Angels have physical bodies and can manifest as people (in biblical lore) demons require a vessel to take over.
Well it's not that they have a body in the sense that humans do, but angels and demons are sort of material in a way in the sense that they are created beings. Only God is completely non-material because only He is uncreated. Everything else is created.
That is what the Orthodox Church says.
the thing, event horizon, annihilation. i really like eldritch themes that are more unsettling and unbalancing than immediately horrifying. recommend me good eldritch picks if you can, please!

Succinct and deep contextual interplay here. Love your work gents
Dog Soldiers, if you're in the mood for a werewolf flick.
Near Dark, if it's vampires you're after.
Giant creature flick? Empire of the Ants.
Little evil things from space?
The Critters series is pretty dope.

Maybe on another dimension, they are higher dimension entities in a sense that they are not on the 3Ds.
