A majority of kids like whatever is played to them without much critical thought. He means the age where you actually started to develop a taste of your own.

I feel like it's a fallacy to try to pinpoint a specific point in time. There are varying DEGREES of listening to music properly and understanding music. There's no such thing as "before, I was a fool. But now, I know everything". You will always be a fool. You're just less of a fool than you were yesterday.

I didn't really start listening to music besides what my parents listened to until I was 15 or 16. I got into soundcloud nitecore, wave, witch house, and some rap stuff, and then finally decided to pay for streaming when I was like 18 and became obsessed.

Something like 15-16. I really developed a deeper relationship with music when I was broke my hand and had to stay home alone for most of the day for 2 months with no internet. So all I had was MTV, a few tv channels and a music playlist someone sent me. When I healed I started to listen to music somewhat seriously, download albums instead of limiting myself to downloading mp3s of youtube MVs..

I was 12 or something, discovered Jeff Buckley downloading The OC from limewire. Listening to Mojo Pin completely changed how much I cared about music. Before that music was just whatever was on radio or music television.

    >Discover Queen at like 13
    >Realize there's better music than Eminem and Skrillex
    >Discover a bunch of other rock bands
    >Realize that Queen is shit and there's better music out there

Idk why did specifically Queen do this to me but I was obsessed for a while and then realized they were dogass after discovering similar but better bands. They pretty much pushed me into the music world.

There are many better bands than Queen, but that doesn't mean they're bad. Why can't you just respect them for what they are instead of insulting them to bolster other bands?
