ITS FUCKING OVER
I'd say it would make highways unusable but US highways are already borderline unusable due to people not understanding how lanes work.
its gonna be like 80s japanese car chimes
The keyword is "intelligent", the speed chimes you think of only started chiming when they hit a certain speed limit, but the tech that the thread is about has to know the area speed limit so it uses the cameras on the outside of the car to recognize speed limit signs.
Cars that have this have already existed for some time, but until now it's been optional, mostly because of how utterly unreliable it is. I don't think there has been a single car where the system hasn't made several errors per drive.
I dunno what your experience is but my 2022 Corolla identifies speed limit signs extremely well and reliably and rarely misses one. The only time it gets slightly weird is when in school zones, it picks up the school limit as the actual limit.
Subaru had a primitive version of this since the 2016 eyesight model cars, that is pretty accurate, and annoying as hell. It makes "pong" sound every time there is a speed change and flashes a red speed limit sign on the display.
Works pretty well in my experience in cars I have been in that have this feature.
my current car still has its chimer, go faster than 106 and it dings constantly, loudly. It's a good deterrent for speeding IMO at least on motorways
no wonder alcoholics and women love subaru crossovers. no wonder every middle class zoomer is getting a crosstrek.
> AWD
> weak
> won't spin out if you try
> warns when you're speeding
it all makes sense now
My ‘18 subaru displays speed limits but doesn’t make any noises or anything. It might also be using GPS/maps data, not sure
Once my Honda told me the speed limit was 85 in a 35.
Should have gunned it
>Car tells me the speed limit
>Puts it on the HUD
>30 mph my current speed that is right next to it
heh, nothin personal.
But really, that shit is unreliable as hell and will regularly just throw up random numbers.
Motorcycle bros we fucking win again
>Reckless drivers everywhere
>Crashes up
>Pedestrian fatalities on the rise
We deserve this, driving has become unbearable since 2020
fatalities on the rise
Hasn't changed in 30 years.
Population has increased by 30% but pedestrians fatalities totals have not risen so its actually decreased per capita.
Not only did it increase per capita, the real statistic is in the fatalities per unit of distance walked.
30 years ago people used to actually walk places and kids played in the streets. Now, unless you have a death wish, you WILL scrape up 2k for a shitbox to spare yourself the trek across the arterial to get your groceries and you WILL chauffer your kids to wherever they need to go.
Thank boomers.
The number of times I've been almost run over at Hawk crosswalks in Phoenix.
And yes the image is what I was crossing at and people ran the red light and almost hit me.
Do Americans not know about tunnels? This has been a solved problem for 100 years
we are too cheap to build infrastructure that isn't surface level.
too fat, they won't fit
American urban planners are too scared that tunnels will inspire naggers to attack people. All American infrastructure and societal planning is based around naggers.
I feel kind of uncomfortable how this activated the "it makes sense" feeling for me.
Oh well, a shithole is a shithole one reason or another.
pedestrian bridges are more common in the US
Why the fuck do you call it a "hawk" crosswalk? If you step into the road before a car traveling at a dangerous speed comes to a stop you deserve to get hit. You shouldn't rely on flashing lights to replace your common sense.
Well, I did not get ran over because I was looking. If I was mindlessly crossing trusting that people stop at blinking red lights I would have been ran over.
People in the civilized world have standardized road signs and lights.
>meanwhile Americans
>fatalities start climbing sharply beginning and continuing with the existence of the iphone
lmfao
the good old days where you didnt have to wait extra at every light for someone to finish an email
just buy land after paying off your student debt with your stable job that gives you a pension and raises to keep up with inflation lol. its that easy leeches!
>Hasn't changed in 30 years.
>pedestrians fatalities totals have not risen
Why are you choosing to lie about something so easily verifiable?
So why are fatalities per mile driven down?
Also the vehicle fatality rate for children is waay down (not on this chart).
You won't be able to disable these limits in the future because cars will have to be connected to the internet. Just police state stuff.
>chart ends in 2018 pre-vaxxbrain
>So why are fatalities per mile driven down?
Because of the very same regulations that you oppose.
but those are not in yet
Sauce
NVM found it. She should lay off the Photoshop
amount of people on phones crossing center lines...don't blame all the drivers. Blame the retards living in socialmedialand for this shit
>we're
Maybe YOU are, but not me. :^)
>we
There's that word again. I didn't put retarded shitskins and meth heads everywhere.
Is that a gear-driven head or is there a chain that drives the gears?
OK but I'd like to argue that banning browns and women from operating motorcars would be a far more effective approach to the issue
can we also add anyone who doesn't work more than 30 hours a week too.
who pissed in your gas tank wagie?
No thx, wagie
Won't this get shot down by local governments that depend on speeding ticket money?
Software tune will undoubtedly disable it just like current speed governors.
modern ECUs can be encrypted and it is trivial to lock them down even more.
so to speed I will need to put on 20% larger tires and a taller rear end lmao
Yeah, encryptions that are broken within a month of the new model year's release.
Your optimism is either from lack of experience or stupidity.
Qualcomm phone chips have not been crackable in several years, the only examples are when someone leaks engineer builds or engie dev tools.
Nvidia GPUs have been impossible to reprogram until someone leaked ( then outdated) NVFlash versions, such as recently for the RTX 2000s series.
If they want/need/require to lock out an ECU it can and will be done.
>just give up and do as we tell you goyim
I really fucking hate subhuman vermin like you.
so my 3rd party ECU's will be running off the shelf?
GOOD
Stop telling the truth
We're talking about ECUs, not the tattletale modules. But go ahead and roll over on your stomach and take the long dick of the government up your ass like the good goyim you are.
I'm the one who brought up ECU lockdowns and you can bet your ass any hard speed limiter that uses GPS/camera detection is going to be a system tied into the main computer for compliance.
It's going to happen.
Stop pretending and be prepared.
it sounds like what youre saying is: its only a matter of time before some chosen hero will leak an engineering build of any particular ECU's firmware 😉
and as long as there are mandated OBD2 ports on cars, it will be trivial to make use of said leaked firmware
i appreciate your concerns, but the good guys always win ok
>and as long as there are mandated OBD2 ports on cars
Even if they were not mandated. Car manufacturers need dealerships to hook into the car's computer for standard maintenance to even firmware updates. If the pandora's box is leaked on how all that works years worth of car's ECUs will be available to re-program. I'm surprised we don't see drop in ECUs for cars with shit locked down harder than epstein's black book
This
t. hasn't heard of autosar
>warns a driver when the vehicle is speeding
japan had this since forever
You mean the bell?
That was only during the 80s
Gary Dean Robinson, 59, of North Las Vegas, was behind the wheel of a Dodge Challenger when he ran a red light at 103 mph at the intersection of Commerce Street and Cheyenne Avenue, crashing into a minivan carrying a family of seven. Robinson had cocaine and PCP in his system at the time of the crash, investigators said.
Where the fuck are so many people getting pcp from
Mortuaries.
Seems like america neeeds a red light assist, not a speed assist.
>Gary Dean Robinson
https://news.yahoo.com/ntsb-systemic-deficiencies-led-las-180115114.html
i don't think it needs either of those things.
you could limit a car to 55mph and it still won’t stop addicts from blowing a red light.
Should be executed immediately and dumped in hole behind the prison.
>Gary Dean Robinson
>mopar owner
kek like pottery
Thats not a speeding problem, its a drug problem. Just like the homeless problem isn't lack of homes, its a drug problem. If the government made a home $20, an addict would sell it to get high for a day. Sure, let the government install red light assist, lane assist, and speed assist. All they will help you with is being a more stationary target for crackheads blasting through red lights in $500 cars lol. Drug users are a disease on society.
yes and my hunger board wants a cookie, doesnt mean the fda is going to show and deliver...
>intelligent speed-assist technology
>doesn't assist in speeding
>actually limits your speed
Hmmmmmm
The more nanny tech gets crammed into new cars, the more I like my old Jaguar.
I will never buy a car newer than 2000.
Lol new car cucks will be paying $100k for some base model pod filled with government spyware
Meanwhile it will never be my problem.
i bet retards will still be here shilling nucar slop
i wouldnt be surprised if 10 years from now you wont even be able to physically drive a new car on the track at pace anymore
IMO it'll probably be one of those forgotten tech items that gets ditched after a couple years. Then in 2035 when someone is looking for their first car you'll hear their dad say "avoid the 2027-2029 models, they've got that annoying buzzer that goes off above the limit... and they stopped updating the onboard GPS so it freaks out on new roads"

giving women the vote was a mistake
Letting poor people vote was a mistake from the get-go.
land-owning men are the only ones allowed to vote.
Also, the following reasons should prevent someone from voting
>uncollateralized debt of over 5k
>over the age of 30 without children
>on welfare
>jobless (including people who are in college or training programs)
>You get a paycheck from the Government or a Contractor who works for the Government
>nobody but the rich can vote
>this is seen as a good thing
Your checklist will disqualify you from voting.
This, land owning owning men with families.
Yes this would exclude me rn.
Many of the current political elite dont have kids so trade off is fair.
White, land owning males only should be reverted to.
This shit would be undermined by people buying 1 square inch of land or some ultra rich corporations buying all the land they possibly could to limit the number of votes even more.
>we
>buying a new car
There is literally no reason for cars to go past 50mph other than to make your peepee feel a little bigger.
NHTSA, Democrats are about just as bad enemies like EU with their overly emphasizing safety feature requirements on cars. World would be so much better place if these 3 would be removed from existence.
Flipping older cars just might become profitable.
That bad drivers are fast drivers is the oldest myth in the book
as long as police cars are getting speed limiters i dont care
Why would that matter? Nothing is outrunning a Motorola.
cant call in what you didnt see
Boutique car manufacturer br/o/s stay winning
Lol 201x and older carfags win again and bikebros how we feeling
Most new cars already have this.
The speed indicator on the dash just changes to red or something when the speed limit is exceeded.
>2035
>you go to your car to turn it on
>you need a face scan to unlock it
>you go past speed limit for 5 sec, your car stop and you get a fine
>you start the car again
>you swear and the car hear you
>you get a fine while you need to go to a anger management courses otherwise you can't drive anymore
great future ahead, can't wait for a shitbox from 2000's to be 30-40k in 15 years
