The real reason was cost, I imagine play places don't bring in the income that they used to, and because fewer and fewer young women are housewives, much less can afford to take their kids there on a day off from working constantly, it's simply not as attractive of an option. IMO the lack of demand/desire for a play place is a sign of the degeneration of American society at large because the role of women as childraisers has been corrupted. Not only that, but now most of your McDonald's are staffed by a few losers and the manager is usually a power tripping retard.

The funny thing is outside of the US they still use the McDonaldland characters almost as much as they did in the 90s, and recently American McDonald’s has started using them more and more again. I think even they realize it was a big mistake for them trying to become more adult, it just made them look more cold and corporate.

christ its like you all were born in the last 15 years
mcdonalds got rid of the toys and the play pens and everything kid related because of the accusations (and maybe lawsuits) that it was kid targeted advertising, which lets be real, it was.
pic related was the mcdonalds before mcdonalds

Gee who would of thought? I'm curious on how out of touch is Mcdonalds marketing compared to the average joe. It seems the majority of any major corp marketing team is to piss off their core base.

        true story
the last time i was at a mcdonalds play place
my Mom got beat up by a group of black people

Mom was standing up for me because 2 black girls jumped me inside the playplace (i was an only child so i told my mommy anytime someone hit me)
so the girl(s) parents and the entire party of like 8 savage women jumped my mom

albeit, my mom called them low lifes due to their trashy ghetto response, which triggered them to chimp out
        probably cause she was right

police came but didn't do shit about it cause we were black, too

kinda traumatized me tbh to see my mom get beat up by a group of people like that as a little kid though
sorta fucks with me to even type it
at least now i have money and will never lived around black people again, even if they are "my people"

Didn't even read this post before I posted this one

they probably removed those play areas because it was a legal liability. Sure the vast majority of the workers don't care, but to sit there and watch what happens in those areas for 8 hours a day would probably have anybody searching the internet for local national alliance meetings

      >has large service staff and cashiers in addition to the cooks
      1990s-2000s
      >fast food restaurants want you to come in, sit and eat their food, but not stay too long so that the next person can come in
      >no more service staff but still has cashiers

      >no more cashiers, just touchscreens and cooks temporarily working the register if someone refuses to use it
      2030s
      >fast food restaurants can't even be accessed by the public, they exist only as closed-off buildings where machines cook and assemble the food and a system of conveyor belts move it around to different bays where it is deposited into delivery vans

Restaurants are a place where people can gather in real life and discuss things without being monitored. They want that to be a privilege only the rich have, so any restaurant poor people visit is becoming to go only and as unwelcoming as possible.

I started a job in apartment maintenance after a year of being out of work and boozing. Lost 45 pounds in 6 months by keeping active, not drinking on weekdays, and eating mcdick's for lunch 4 days a week. Avoid the soda, stick to high-protein items (swap the fries for nuggets) and keep active, legitimately you can do it.

That was years ago though, I've gained back the majority of that weight, and I drank a bottle of tequila last night. Booze will make you fat. Also, he's quoting a song.

    >Even though the re-designed restaurant has no rock ‘n’ roll theming, McDonald's insiders still refer to the location as “the Rock”.[9] There is now a rock-and-roll themed McDonald's in Olympia Fields, Illinois.
Oh shit, Southland made the wiki page. Yeah I only popped in there once when my girlfriend was working the gamestop there. There's a stage and they say they do karaoke nights, I would wonder if they ever book bands but it's not like it's any larger than a regular McDick's. Interesting part of the world there, statistically there's a lot of money but the people stopping by that shopping plaza were the absolute dregs.
