Being right has no meaning if you do not bring about any change. Hence why literal whos being right will always be worthless.

Performance is never a priority and never will be because all MVP early codebases need to be fast moving and nobody knows what the fuck the client wants, if they even have a product or what the fuck is happening in general.
It's why python got popular, it's why JS on the backend got popular, it's why people shill for Go these days.
Good luck trying to care about performance when you have to maintain a 2 mil Java codebase and your team is being cut in half.

He's missing a lot of experience in the ugly side of the industry and it shows.
Imagine a virgin telling people why pussy is great, this is it.

Okay Microsoft, right? Lets say they got rid of clean code. Will Microsoft hire teams of western professionals to write their software or will they keep outsourcing to people making maybe $4 an hour? Well obviously they are going to outsourcing.
So the question is are those outsourced programmers suddenly going to write performant code now that they aren't being held back by clean code standards? Probably not and without a braindead standard their code will be even harder to unfuck.
The problem isn't clean code its the environment that necessitates clean code because outsourcing to India saves Microsoft a nickel vs hiring teams of American professionals.
