One thing that I don't understand is that "40-60%" or "20-80%" charging. You "save your battery" so you can have 90-95% battery health 3-10 years after buying phone. But this way you only use 20-60% of the full capacity while you would use 80-100% capacity if you just don't care and literally rape your battery with wrong temperatures and fast charghing. I have 4 year old phone that has 87% battery health. One over 10 year old phone that has 82%. One over 13 year old that has 81% left.
Why care when by caring you just simulate battery that has 40-60% health battery from the start when you can just use full 100% until it has 80% left and even then you have now 20-40% more to use next 10 years? Never understood.
You shouldn't even have to think about this. The battery should have this behavior automatically (BMS reports 100% when the battery is 80% charged, capacity rating in device spec sheet should also reflect this). This does already happen to an extent, but given there is still a good amount of battery degradation in many devices, it's clearly not enough.
Actually, what they are doing nowadays is overcharging your batteries relative to what they used to be charged to.
The "standard" fully charged voltage of a lithium ion is 4.2V. A lot of modern phones charge to 4.4v or even 4.45v. They are not actually overcharging the battery as the chemistry can handle this but this isn't doing any favors for longevity. Literally no capacity advancement I have ever seen has also came with better capacity retention, it usually always gets just that little bit worse.
Phone makers really are chasing that initial battery performance that looks good in reviews and amazes people when they first get it but they could care less about how the battery fairs 2 years from now.

Thats prob cause the market has high phone turnover rate. Remember, they keep buying news phones like shows. If anything, they bet on people losing their phones or having it stolen so mom and dad can get them new phones.
It's sad though. If the market was male driven, we would have more reliable batteries.
How much less could they care?
Sounds like they care to me.
(Please learn what words mean)
>How much less could they care?
Caring less means the shit would explode after awhile
My iphone 5s still works few days without charging
I bought a used Pixel 2XL, and using it for the second year. The battery is still awesome, and it wasn't even replaced once. And even if the battery degrades to a point where it unusable I can easily open that phone up (I did already did it to replace my screen), in contrast to your iPhone, where the only thing you will change is the guy that fucks you in the ass every week or so.
>better experience during gaming and photography
This was only an argument around 5 years ago. If you game on your phone you are, without a doubt, a child, and they don't need the latest and greatest performance. And even an old phone takes fantastic photos nowadays, you can simply install gcam. That is if you are on Android, of course.
I only use my phone for mail, calendar, calculator and shitposting so idc
I don't go out enough to have low battery life.
My phone is with me on my desk if it's low I charge it at my desk...
I won't find another Mi 9T Pro. Everything new is a downgrade in someway or another.
It's simple.
You don't worry about battery life if you don't game on your phone.
I went to a samsung repair shop. They told me that my battery was fine and that all the apps on it were draining the power 24/7. Even when they were closed. Shit's fucked.
My phone has been fine for 4 years
