Cashing in on a dying IP. The bonus tracks were just demos all sung by the guy?? Wtf. And they were just signed by Island or some other big label too -- give that A&R guy a raise! Lauren's gone solo and the band won't do anything again. Hope there's enough cutting room floor stuff from their second album to make up the loss
Yeahh and no remastered version of Strong Hand, just a live rendition (which admittedly sounds great in my opinion). I was disappointed too, however I think the original album sounds a bit better now than before, so that's good. Hopefully they come out with a 10th anniversary (Deluxe Edition) in the near future.
People dismissed Every Open Eye way too much imo. Love is Dead has some major bangers but is kind of eh. Screen Violence I would put third after Bones and EOE. It drags on at times but it has some of their most mature and effortless sounding dance anthems like the first track. I can't get over the highs of Bones though.
none
i cant believe its been 10 years.
I miss the eighties revival of the early 2010s.
i remember the first chvrches song i heard was a cover of a prince song.
Walk the Moon fucking nailed it.
These. Jesus Christ I'm old.
Tether is a jam but I could never care about any song they ever made after that

why did they ever let the guy sing? nobody listens to churches to hear a neckbeard sing.
so many bands like this and it's always hilarious
You Caught the Light was good.
this one's fine but I honestly think screen violence is their best

I try not to think of this band outside of the context of Screen Violence.
their cover of It's Not Right but It's OK is the best cover of all time
their only good album
How do you pronounce this bands name? Is it 'Cha-VERCH-es' or is it 'Ca-Hurv-CHEZ'?
I can’t believe there are unironic. Churches fans in 2023. You guys like alt-j too?
