I assume this was a pretty early internship; by junior year at the latest you should definitely know better.

what’s wrong with a black suit? I work at a bank and some coworkers often wear black suits, although I only really wear dark navy and charcoal

To be fair it’s not necessarily wrong, and many people won’t care, but navy/charcoal would be the safe choice, and usually summer analysts (assuming IB) are advised to dress conservatively.

If you’re not a Tarantino character or at a funeral you’ll just look like a security guard at a museum.

You can obviously do whatever you want, but if you’re going into a summer internship for the first time in a field like investment banking people are gonna b***h about things like that.

    >had his teeth bleached, but can’t afford a haircut or even just a comb
    >suit too big in the shoulders and arms
i bet your mom tells you you’re handsome, bambino

it’s a suit, of course it looks good. could use some tailoring on the shoulders and i would personally trim the hair on the lower back so it does not intrude the silhouette. black is a bit of a controversial choice as most professionals choose shades of blue or gray but definetly in the realm of personal preference. you shouldn’t do the lower button tho. all in all its in tune with the position you were applying for. you had a general idea what was expected of you and had the respect to attempt it but lack the experience to pull it off perfectly. good job, well done. hope you get the internship anon.

    >cheap black suit, white shirt, red tie
    >2nd button fastened
it looks like you bought that suit at hecking macy’s
looks terrible, a grey or navy would be so much better

  5. Anonymous says:

The fit is a bit off, black isn’t the best color (dark grey or navy are better) and you shouldn’t close the lower button. Overall it’s still ok for the majority of people, so it’s not any big issue.

Shit fit. Sleeves too long, shoulder lines not lining up with your shoulders and instead bunching up, the jacket itself is too long and goes below the mid zipper point. All in all, not effy. Fit is kang. If it doesn’t fit, then it will look shit even if you’re wearing a $5000 suit.

    I don’t like fat ties.
Keep your hands out of your pockets.
The waist of your jacket could be a little slimmer.
    Pull your tie up

    >don’t wear black
    >don’t button two buttons
how many people actually know about these? feels like 99% of people wouldn’t care

Literally no one other than image board addicts will notice.

In a field like investment banking you will get hazed for shit like this, at least the buttons. Looks like OP is currently an intern at a low-tier consulting firm so may not matter for him.

Hi OP, I get that this guy bullies you, but you should be a man an confront him in person, not doing this childish shit, you’re a hecking pussy.

I don’t know who this gay is and don’t care. I’m in finance and if he showed up looking like that I’d send his ass straight to the barber to tighten shit up because I know I’m going to hear about it from some millionaire boomer or regional management brass monkey.

Why hasn’t OP updated his LinkedIn?

    https://www.linkedin.com/in/steven-rovenstine/

He did an internship in NYC this summer, then went radio silent. He graduated in May.

What about the outfit looks like that? It’s a plain black suit with nothing about the lapels or the way it sits particularly being in a throwback style to the 80’s or 90’s with a plain white shirt. The tie pattern isn’t very eccentric either and the color doesn’t jump at you. Both of those movie characters dressed way flashier and in a style of their time, which if emulated today would stick out, this in comparison is a very "one salaryman among many" type outfit imo.

suit too big, why is it black. wear a navy mixed suit and some glasses and get finra certs and pretend to be a nerd, you’ll get in better

narrow shoulder+wide waist looking suit. get yourself a suit that gives you the V shape. it’s a phenomenon, they’ve been feminizing suits for some reason, you’re supposed to look like a superhero not like a gay

    >You dress like you’re trying to be an h&m model. Like it literally looks like they photoshopped a an random h&m dude into a parking lot.
you say this like it’s a bad thing. Upper normie is something to aspire to.

black suits are a no-go for everyday wear, navy suits are overdone. personally I go for a nice grey suit. red ties are just gaudy, go for a nice grenadine tie in a less flashy colour.
