This shit is so fucking harmful
Millions of young people are self-dxing and shifting to an external locus of control, pathologizing normal behavior and shooting their actual mental health in the foot thanks to disorder qua identity discourse.
As an experiment I checked out the top posts on the "adhd memes" subreddit. I found nearly all of them relatable. I don't have adhd.
Zoomers are well and truly fucked.

    >be born into digital playground detached from nature and the reality of the human struggle
    >never develop any values or sense of perspective
    >remain mentally a child well into adulthood
    >"muh ADHD"
When shit hits the fan you'll suddenly see this "disorder" disappear as all these sheltered consumer zombies wake the fuck up and start moving and working for the sake of survival.

I don't doubt that environmental factors can "cause" ADHD, but there seems to be an attitude that a "disorder" is an immutable reality rather than a description of a cluster of symptoms, which can be treated, mitigated, or overcome. I'm sure a portion of the population suffers from ADHD. I'm also confident a large portion suffers from ADHD like symptoms that don't fit the bill for a full-blown diagnosis and can be treated with CBT and lifestyle changes. Zoomers seem keen to doom themselves.

My mentally ill feminist ex used to watch this channel and it did great harm to her. Once she accused me of not actually loving her and sent me a video from it to passively aggressively accuse me of it.
    I miss her.

While I do think ADHD is way overdiagnosed, I hate that so many people swing the opposite direction and decide ADHD isn't real. Like just look at the correlation between being born premature and ADHD. There's no way you can look at an obvious biological factor like that and say it's made up.

I feel like it's a mix of retardation and laziness. I actually cannot think sometimes and my brain feels static sometimes I catch myself zoned out looking at ceiling while drooling like a retard incapable of thinking or concentrating
I swear I didn't become this retarded until after I became a chronic masturbator. Idk if that has anything to do with it

I mean if you want to trust someone likely paid by the same company that manufactures the medicine for ADHD please do. If you can tolerate coffee or tea I would suggest trying that before regular doses of amphetamine.

Caffeine makes most ADHD symptoms significantly worse not better. You don't know what the hell you're talking about dude. Not all stimulants are the same nor work the same.

If you fidget there's a good chance you actually do have ADHD. I masturbate when I have to do schoolwork in order to properly stimulate my brain and do school work and that's how I got diagnosed at 13. My ADHD is pretty severe but I almost went my whole life without diagnosis if it wasn't for an especially attentive teacher who noticed I fidget with my foreskin a lot. Lazy people will go their entire life without a diagnosis that could've and still can help them

Wait is fidgeting with your foreskin an adhd thing? That seems really odd. I've always done it when I'm alone. Just when I'm watching a video or what I'm playing a game I'm just pressing on it for I don't know why I just do it. Doesn't bring me any pleasure doesn't make me feel anything I just do it

Possibly but I had other signs like never listening to people, not doing school work and day dreaming when I shouldn't be. I also happened to describe rejection sensitive dysphoria to my psychiatrist which is comorbid.

I don't know what that last part means but I suffer from a lot of those issues. Makes it extremely hard to start anything and keep on it for more than 10 to 15 minutes then I need to pace around. Been dealing with it all my life.

As someone who has adhd, reality checks like that video and comments from my mentor and friends really put things into perspective.

Like a few months ago I was harping on myself about how lazy I was because I didn't get around to doing some dense paperwork when my friend asked me to list all the things I did in the last few days.
After rattling off a list of over a dozen things he stopped me and said I am ether the most productive energetic "lazy" person in the world or that I am not lazy at all and it's just that dense paperwork is my kryptonite.

I am a man of action and physicality who is occasionally stuck in a world of sit down bureaucracy.
It's the reason why I thrive in martial arts but struggle to write anything longer than short stories or skits and never learned to draw well. Don't get me wrong, both active and sit-down stuff take hard work and perseverance, but just sitting there trying to focus and not moving around for hours and hours is torture to me.

I can sit down for hours on a computer but sitting down to study for college assignments melts my brain

        It effects people differently.
Like I am definitely farther on the hyperactivity side of things even as a adult.

Even recreational computer use like right now involves fidgeting, frequent breaks, and often standing at the desk rather than sitting down.
I also prefer to pace when I have to read more than a few paragraphs. Helped back when I was in school even if I almost got kicked out the library a few times.
Writing essays was hard for me though. While learning to touch type and type faster helped it was still pretty hard. Years later and I am not even sure why I bothered as none of it really mattered.
I swear paper pushers take a mild pleasure in wasting your life.

    Have you been evaluated?
Maybe you should consider it if you haven't.

But then again if you don't have any problems in your everyday life and don't suffer from depression or anxiety then maybe you're right. I kind of doubt it though with the things they post there being a lot about not being able to do stuff.

It's true, doctors misdiagnose ADHD often. If you suspect you may have it, go to a psychiatrist. Yes, ADHD is certainly real, it's obvious if you've ever had to live with or spend a lot of time with someone who has moderate to severe ADHD.

The weird thing is that being lazy is far better than not being able to pay attention because at least lazy people can do something now so that they'll never have to do it again
Also, ADHD shares many symptoms with depression.
A large majority of zoomers are "depressed" so of course a large amount of themwil say that the have ADHD (what ever the fuck that even means now)
On top of that, these tiktok addicted fuck stains have one of the lowest attention spans in history. Of course they won't be able to just breathe

I've been hyperactive and have problem with daydreaming and sleeping even back when I was a kid 15 years ago before I was introduced to the internet and smartphones. I don't know man. There certainly has to be something wrong with me or I wouldn't be a NEET dropout. Am I really being lazy if I'd rather go for a 10km run than sit in a desk and write an essay?

      Anonymous

No. This is perfectly normal human behaviour. It's modern society that demands people sit still for 12 hours a day staring at a wall that classifies it as a disorder.

Fun fact: ADHD is completely arbitrarily diagnosed as per the DSM guide. The key judgement it is whether the hyperactivity is seriously disruptive. Which of course entirely depends on the expectations put on you. That's why most ADHD cases are those going to college/in HS.

Yea, low frustration tolerance when doing anything that requires continuous attention is a sign of adhd that psychologists look for in children. Essay writing is boring, but normal people won't find essay writing to be unbearably frustrating like someone with ADHD would
