USD just got jeet rugpulled by Pomp, Balaji, et al. to the tune of trillions of dollars when the dust settles. Crying on Twitter about how ~~*job creators*~~ would be impacted to save their fake startup valuations and bailout Circle’s USDC reserves. Inflation going to double digits and crypto will be a “success story” on the back of what it was supposed to counter - central bank intervention. Anyone who does business (payroll, etc) denominated in USD just got rugged by crypto jeets.

      > and crypto will be a “success story” on the back of what it was supposed to counter - central bank intervention.
Crypto cannot "counter" central bank intervention. How the fuck would it? It offers and alternative to central banking and additionally, in so far as it is considered an asset, it can be used as a store of value (like other durable assets).

Without central bank intervention, USDC would de-peg (to 0) and BTC would be worth nothing as the on/off-ramp liquidity dries up. BTC’s valuation is completely reliant on central bank support - it’s not independent, it’s a key beneficiary of the system of wealth extraction from productive sectors of the economy to the financial sector.

          hyperbole

          Non-sequitor.
          >BTC’s valuation is completely reliant on central bank support - it’s not independent, it’s a key beneficiary of the system of wealth extraction from productive sectors of the economy to the financial sector.
          unsubstantiated claim.

BTC could easily serve as defacto stable if USD and the like were no longer pegged to an asset worth holding due to rampant inflation. This is exactly what BTC was made for.

This doesn’t refute my claim that this is a controlled demolition by crypto jeets who played the Fed/USG like a fiddle. Actual productive sectors of the economy will suffer for the benefit of crypto jeets.

Fed gave a blank check to banks. They can do whatever the fuck they want with customer deposits. Textbook definition of moral hazard. How can you say nothing changed.
