Yes, they have ads in the start menu, sometimes download sponsored games without permission, and love to automatically "backup" all your files to their servers. even after you disable those options, they just turn back on sometimes

        >most people don't know C
Sure, but C is what allows you to directly interface and like with the OS. if you don't have one then your computer is just static without the internet. A C compiler means you can actually make the computer do what you need it to do.

As it turns out, making an OS is relatively easy, making an OS that software developers support so that their software actually works on it is the problem. You can't get people to voluntarily use your OS if critical software doesn't work, and if China tries to force people to use their Chinese OS without it having critical software, they would cripple any Chinese industry that relies on foreign software, which is like all of them.

    >ship Windows w/o Edge
    >no ads either
    >no browsers at all from fresh install
    >splash page about Microsoft store, where they can place all the ads
    >put an Edge ad in the store
They can't do away with ads, it just needs a containment program. Maybe this way they can finally get a userbase for the MS store.

Exactly. It would push users to use the store instead.

How the fuck would you download a browser if the os ships with no browser? They would have to go to the store exactly once to do it.
