For small numbers of viewers and for free, because that's the only interest and price they can command.
Meanwhile live music often has high entry prices and fills up stadiums.
Dude what? Music is also an end result. The only difference is that one end result is seen and one is heard. Both are end results. Any end result that is good will sell, AI or artist

All they have to do is get a driver with a subtle but manageable drinking problem. Someone who is a PoS and will frick up eventually. Someone who can be villainized. Following?
Then they let the driver loose and start the countdown until he finally gets wienery and tries to drink on the job or something.
Then an "accident" happens with the software. Car or plane or whatever swerves wild and kills a bunch of kids or something. The AI "saves" it just in time and saves a few of the kids or something.
Then every news station focuses on how the driver was drunk or stoned or whatever.
AI comes out as the "hero" that stopped the worst from happening.
The article is ran in a way where all the fault is put on the driver. >It is now more dangerous to have a human in the vehicle supervising than outside the vehicle"

personally, the famous banana duct-taped on the wall has less artistry integrity (the actual opera is the authenticity certificate, as they change the banana at least once a week per creator's instructions)
It's the maximum gimmick for the current art market, a giant tax write-off for the rich, due to a loop-hole in some law in the US (probably elsewhere too)
This is honestly such a moronic thing to be afraid of. Art made by a person is still going to hold value. Not all art is bought on commission. I'd imagine most art actually worth something isn't commissioned in the sense that someone says "Paint me x".
>Art made by a person is still going to hold value.
Vocaloids and vtubers are proof that a synthetic substitute for a relationship with a person as creator/performer are often good enough.
>"How dare you get artwork of that quality for free and instantly?!" >You're supposed to commission us and pay us thousands of dollars for each and every single art piece you request and wait 4-12 HECKIN WEEKS FOR US, YOU HECKIN HECKS! AAAAAH!"
Photoshop had a massive negative impact on the section of art it applied to. Photo editors ever since then haven't been able to command anywhere near as much value and the whole portion of the industry went from businesses charging large sums of money to hobbyists doing it as a favor for friends and family. Photoshop literally put a whole category of companies out of business, and these AIs are much wider-reaching in subject than photoshop was. If it has a similar effect then we're going to be seeing a *lot* of really pissed off artists.
I worked for a professional photo editing and retouching company that went out of business in the mid 2000s because of photoshop.

We don’t cry about how crossbar mechanisms put phone operators out of a job, because paying humans to do a repetitive, low-skill task is stupid and the economy will price you out of it. This is happening to artists and it’s a good thing, actually.
I suspect they’re seething because they consider themselves to be part of the cultural elite. The problem is the majority of them are selling their service to non-elites who care a lot about their bottom line/keeping their family fed and don’t care about prestige at all. If you don’t want to be obsoleted by lines of code, then be a famously skilled painter that someone can use as a brag while touring their mansion. Otherwise get used to $0.50 concept art and $2.00 furry fetish commissions.

Not even close. Blockchain nonsense is near worthless, it does nothing a traditional server couldn't outside true immutability (which is only relevant to the direct transactions themselves, and means essentially nothing for the applications built on top of it.)
Neural networks on the other hand are the beginning of a revolution in society. They are still relatively primitive, but the ultimate conclusion of their advancement is a post-labor society(not post-scarcity mind you).
And that's the minimum. AI will be able to fit into research positions soon, which will accelerate progresses exponentially. Imagine a data center running 6K PhD level scientists all working on the same topic 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

This is the use case that always caught my attention. At every big company I have worked at there are 3 or 4 guys who everyone comes to with questions. The ones I knew actually kept a personal log of problems and solutions they kept to themselves. Just for the reason of being problem solvers in support chat so they didn't have to do "real work" if they didn't want to because they were busy supporting hundreds of other grunts under them.
A single AI chatbot could replace all of that bullshit. It sounds like a little thing but some of the companies I know would get turned onto their head with that kind of change.

Blockchain is useless as a tech technology but it has terrifying implications as part of certain social technologies.
Imagine in today's world order that some country does a Bad. How dare they? But you need to build political capital at home, and abroad, and not completely successfully, to create measures to oppose them, or even to enforce the measures allegedly already in place.
Now imagine a new world order where everything is built on blockchains. Same country, same Bad, but automated oracles detect it almost immediately, immutable code-as-law gets run, and everybody automatically joins in on whatever form the sanction takes. You would have to raise significant political capital to not act. Depending on the nature and extend of the international integrations doing so may automatically cut you off from everybody else, too.
Bringing this back around to AI, AI would be involved in the monitoring, the analysis, and the execution of the decision-making along guidelines built into the code. The system would need some give to cover the unexpected but giving a human judge for example power to correct things pretty much defeats the whole idea.
Anonymous
Or the body that control the automated oracles/provides access to them decides not run them. Or different companies implement them differently. Or a proxy handles the transactions. Or they use a different blockchain. Or they work in physical goods.
You're creating some incredibly specific imaginary scenario and it falls victim to the same pitfalls the current system does. Blockchain is a meme.
Anonymous
> Blockchain nonsense is near worthless
No, there exist very important use cases where a trustless, immutable systems are necessary and blockchains can fill this niche. A friend of mine is a PhD student working with a professor on using a blockchain in multidisciplinary, international laboratories for secure data logging. > Neural networks on the other hand are the beginning of a revolution in society
ML and AI are memes and the hype is vastly overrated. They are useful tools to have in some situations, particularly classification problems. For example, sensor tech in processing industries has exploded and some sensors need to be calibrated via ML to convert data into relevant physical information for each flow stream.
But the idea of an AI that has actual intelligence (i.e., AGI)? Not for a long while yet. AI can’t even figure out how to fold clothes. I think the meme is perpetrated by NEETs because they want to justify their shitty lives by saying “durr all jobs are useless because of le heckin AI!” but frankly we aren’t even close to that.
Ted was wrong in that our only chance is to seek salvation through technology against the odds. There's no going back; a few bombs in the mail won't change anything. Nor will any effort, practically speaking. Its a race to either a bad or a good outcome.
Woke activism trainers for corporate HR and government. Hell, most of corporate HR and government too. Maybe if you focus on the 2nd group the 1st will be out of a job by default for free.
Yeah, I envision in a few years the process will be something like an artist drawing up concepts, fine tuning Stable or the then derivative, and using that to mass produce content before everyone else catches up.
Something like this probably, except you currently cannot own the copyright or IP on art produced by an AI. Begs the question of what amount of change to an AI original will grant the artist the IP rights, and it also means that the original drawing will still be public domain.
i'll be very curious to see the legal implications of this
at the end of the day, NNs can only generate stuff based on what they've already seen - there is likely already tooling made for debugging purposes that would let you see what parts of the output image came from what training images, and from that, you can see the potential licensing fees
now, if your NN is trained solely on public domain (or other permissinve licenses), it's all fine and dandy, but i bet these arent
i bet stock image websites are going to have a field day suing anyone who tries to sell the output of these, just like the asinine lawsuits in the music industry
patreonners, coooommission artists, concept art corporate hacks, and anyone else whose artistic existence revolves around delivering paid, polished, on-time, soulless 'art' precision engineered to make consumers' eyeballs vibrate at max frequency are all giga rekt by this tech. But that just opens up new space for what it means to be an artist. I had a lot of fun back in the days of early devart and even fricking elfwood (and VCL) following artists who were basically shit, but were very personable and imaginative with rich inner world and it was fun checking in with them as they spun up little stories, characters, plot arcs, etc and you got to follow along with them, comment, collaborate, etc. It was a social experience and that sort of artist role has gotten bulldozed under the relentless pressure to monetize, crowdplease, and patreonify every aspect of artmaking, such that if you're not cranking out photorealistic anime waifu wallpapers 3x weekly for your subscriberbase you don't even get to feel like a real artist anymore. I'm excited for art to return to being a thing you can sort of suck at and share with your friends and still have a good time with, because the robots have already cornered the market on hyperreal waifu tiddies and on-demand photoreal fetish porn and there's no point trying to compete with them.
There's the argument that AI art, even if indistinguishable from something a human made, has no 'metadata' associated with it - the when, where, who, why, how of it. So I expect in the future that the 'art' that humans engage in directly is going to revert to forms in which the metadata/emotion/intent/process still matters and is valued in some capacity by the viewers, vs the larger consumer crowd who just want polished pablum that makes their eyeballs pleasantly vibrate.
I totally agree with you and, doing commissions is a souless job, but this removes the possibility of a lot of artist to just survive with art. Art is already a brutal enviorment if you consider it only from an economical perspective, and really only the top 5% makes a liveable income, with really just a few artist that can have a similiar income of a lawyer or a youtube celebrity for example. 95% of the other artists are, and have been poor. Now that half of the market is gone due to AI and most of the artist will return to just do stuff because they like it and not because are paid or their fans demand it, how will they support themselves? Are you that will pay for him to do highschool doodles? Will you throw in his way like 2 bucks because you like his stuff? I doubt, most of those people will get an office job or another even more souless job than drawing breasts for someone and will let art go, maybe thinking about it once a week
The only solution is socialist system and 4 hour working day. You can practice art or science in your free time, while working for society only 4 hours a day.
Of course you must also give up on luxury of liberal capitalist society too. Cannot have the good things of both worlds.
I wouldn't call liberal capitalist society luxury for most people.

Yeah anon. Comparisons. Most sane people call those comparisons. I see you struggle with very simple things. Get well soon.
When it takes jobs from coders it's not a problem. When it takes jobs from porn stars with deep fakes it's not a problem.
When it takes jobs from writers by writing in new funny formats it's not a problem.
But now that art is under attack it's a problem? Artists are the vegans of the career world.
Graphic design too which is ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE as well. This is gonna frick the economy if it progresses fast enough and potentially make the Great Depression look like a fricking joke.
Artists, Graphic Designers, writers, programmers, doctors, the service industry, hell even maintenance technicians and I.T. If it doesn't wipe out an industry it's going to lower the value of jobs and result in people being paid less as the human-workable jobs get consolidated.
What do I mean by human-workable jobs? Anything that employers see as being cheaper or more practical to have humans perform rather than A.I and software.
If anything this is great for I.T personel but for how long? Like I feel at ease knowing something I know will need people but how long before A.I progresses to the point of being more useful than humans? Sure it will create new industries but those industries will likely need fewer people compared to the industries now.

If any of you guys play video games or make them, you should be very concerned about this. If you thought game marketplaces were already flooded with trash games just wait till the art barrier falls. Not being able to make or afford art for their shit game is one of the last things stopping any moron from slapping together a game. Steam for instance already has ~800 games released on it every month. This is going to make finding good games and selling good games even harder.
x% of any of the pool of games at any time are any good or worth playing -- same with other mediums. its usually 5% worthwhile art to 95% garbage, increased games means statistically more and better games, even if the relationship of good to trash tips toward trash

art should be a personal exploration, done for one's own intrinsic interests, to fulfill internal purpose, process internal inquiries, and develop one's own expression... not to pump out shitty commissions so you can buy overpriced burritos as you seek notoriety via a quirky omg-so-youneek art style
On serious note, it was an eventuality like all of human life being replaced by ai. What I didn't expect is so many spiteful people joining in to exaggerate it just to show up real artists. The art world already has photobashers, and they immediately get bad rep because art also relies on the context of humans doing it.
everyone keeps screaming about AI art but there hasn't been a single good piece produced on easily available hardware
it looks so bad beyond thumbnails, and nobody works with fricking thumbnails when it comes to concepts
Eventually you'll be able to generate entire 3D scenes on the fly with prompt generation with the ability to edit them after the fact.
Even later that generation will be procedural, done in realtime on demand, and streamed in memory.
That's the real endgame for video game DRM; The entire game only exists as a massive binary that's interpreted and streamed by a proprietary model and encrypted algorithms. It's volatile and gets destroyed when the session closes.
for years you guys have been saying A.I. was going to take wagie jobs, when it was obvious they are going to take jobs from the salaried class, A multi-million dollar robot and an AI is gonna take the jobs of a framing crew that shows up in a pickup truck with 6k of tools, lol, okay morons. Check out the /h/ thread moron, it doesn't censor anything
its been fun watching all the dunning krueger failures from IQfy over the last 2 weeks as they confidently share their hot takes about tech they dont understand
Lol lemme guess there is a catch to this.
A human being with artistic sense is actively selecting good looking picture/output and discardig uninteresting ones.
As a scientist with publications i swear this field is also full of scams
>A human being with artistic sense is actively selecting good looking picture/output and discardig uninteresting ones.
it's not some private thing that is being curated for a paper. it's a tool anyone can use literally right now. so a human being with artistic sense can generate images, pick interesting ones, manipulate those with other programs and tools digitally, and those resulting pieces can be trained on further or used as inspiration for more art
>Artist
Shut up, and complete your soulless corporate art project on Adoisraelite illustrator
>Muh AI art is bad AnD IM COnCerNEd
hope liberal arts degree holders burn in the worst place of hell, to think they are capable to imitate great artists.
>artists for decades have been telling deindustrialized areas full of rednecks that they're just subhuman backwater morons and that them going unemployed due to chinese manufacturing is a good thing and they need to adapt to the times >now technology is going to make them rot in the streets as well
lmao good riddance
I'm amazed that people find this concerning. Artists finally get to dedicate their lives around art that they're passionate about instead of being drones making corporate art. AI/automation replacing humans in jobs should be a liberating thing. The problem is not with the technology, the problem is whether or not our society/economy is ready to handle it (which we are not).
you morons still think this killed art? this is a very useful tool, but you're fricking moronic if you think copilot is killing programming.
none of these tools are standalone, they still require human input and correction on the output.
these are time savers at best, and artists are also fricking moronic for not making good use of this.
>As an artist >Gamer who just draws existing content in different shitty styles
Same old talentless crowd crying that their Pokémon drawing can now be done by AI.
Because it's an excellent test for morals vs usability
Would you fight global warming if it meant pedos are cooler and comfier?
yes it does harm children
as you mentally damaged freaks will further indulge in your sick fantasies and more of you subhumans will bring their delusions into the real world harming innocent children
there is a radicalization going on in your brains which will only be speed up by easier access
resulting in more violent more deranged behaviour and more hurt children
eat a fricking bullet you sick frick
Hmm, I was thinking about earning some money on the side by drawing, though I guess I'll need to draw furry inflation or pony porn instead of generic fantasy shit. What a time to be alive.
>he doesn't know about the /trash/ Stable Diffusion general that's making progress towards furry porn >he doesn't know about the /mlp/ Stable Diffusion general that's making progress towards pony shit
>he's actually satisfied with the porn produced by SD
Jesus frick anon get some fricking standards or maybe a pair of glasses. Alternatively, stop watching porn
the thing is AI can't actually create styles. AI is heavily reliant on borrowing styles from real artists. So the obvious solution is to just stop making generic fan art and do something unique. You know, like an artist.
Artists should focus on training AI models to draw in their style and shit out thousands of art pieces with corrections and adjustments. Why waste time when the computer can do the bulk of the work?
Hardly any artist, except hyperrealists, has produced a painting that is worth looking at. Maybe it will finally put an end to the massive amount of racket modern and contemporary art has become
>computer does all art around the world now >no human does art anymore >20 years later not a single human knows how to decorate or make anything of value like a statue or picture
finally i can have some nice wallpapers without having to suck the dck of those neet artist that charges 9999 dollars to draw it
frick artist they are an invasive species in the world
AI is literally going to destroy human civilization
if everybody is left unemployed and therefore broke because of machines then who's going to pay you for whatever services you offer you stupid Black folk.
all jobs are useful, otherwise they wouldn't exist you fricking moron >learn a useful job
it gets automated. what then, learn another "useful job" that will get automated? >but anon, you will have more free time? don't you want to spend you free time doing thing #32213 that was also automated?

Keep them seething, art is not a real job
Better yet, release the art under CC Share A-like. If some art gay tries to redraw your art, tell them to put it under the CC licence or prepare to get owned for GPL like violations.
The image can be GPL, but they can still sell NFTs.
$SHIB to the moon!
> I want to pay pennies instead of compensate artists for the amount of time it may have taken them to create an art piece
> Creating art is not a real job.
I'll give you a chance, how is art not a real job? Explain this to me
Not sure I'm following, is this so artists wouldn't be able to monetize anything that resembles something created by A.I?
music programs let you create songs without learning to play an instrument, yet there are still musicians
Pretty sure AI can't do lyrics for music at this time.
There are some wildly popular songs with garbage-tier lyrics that I'm sure a chat AI could do better than.
Like baby, baby, baby, oooooh
like baby baby, babyyy ooOooooh
like ...
Kids these days probably wont remember Hanson, but one of their major hits was
Mmm bop, ba duba dop
Ba du bop, ba duba dop
Ba du bop, ba duba dop
Ba du, yeah, yeah
Mmm bop, ba duba dop
Ba du bop, ba du dop
Ba du bop, ba du dop
Ba du, yeah, yeah
no its
mm bop, bapa mm bop
badu ba
mm bop, bapa ba-ah
oOh- Ooh
My bad. Yeah, AI can never compete with that.
I suspect you reply in jest, yet I would have you consider more closely the difference between our lyrics, for I believe the soul of man lies therein, and indeed, such would a machine scarce be able to reproduce.
If someone told me kpop lyrics are entirely ai generated i wouldn't be the least bit surprised
People are more interested in live instrument playing than live drawing, like there's no concerts for art, you just see the end result
People do live art streams on Twitch all the time.
For small numbers of viewers and for free, because that's the only interest and price they can command.
Meanwhile live music often has high entry prices and fills up stadiums.
>b-but twitch
not an argument and never will be
people like to buy the original painting which is kind of the same thing
Dude what? Music is also an end result. The only difference is that one end result is seen and one is heard. Both are end results. Any end result that is good will sell, AI or artist
You still need to know how music works and what kind of stuff to use for what scene.
>Pretty sure AI can't do lyrics for music at this time.
It can but they're really weird.
Listen to what is popular with zoomers, 90% of it is copy/pasted beats with heavily autotuned vocal
it's all mumble rap only it's regressed to not even having words.
It's just noise, a beat, and a Black person whispering
yeeaasyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeyeeyeyeyeyeeyey
into the microphone.
Music and a song totally difference, yet it still called a musician whom create a music and a song.
oh no the bland generic fantasy artists are going down.
yet, just like as photography killed landscape painting, life goes on.
when the doctors, lawyers, consultants, software developers, designers, engineers, and artists of every category are sitting destitute on the side of the road the chad trucker will wave as he drives by
...and then joins them as automated driving gets implemented
>5 more years!
It will be before most other professions you mentioned get replaced
truckers were supposed to be 1st to be replaced
10 years ago when everyone started talking about automation, artist would have been the last one people assumed would be replaced by AI
And artists haven't been replaced yet
>but they're about to be!
Just like truckers were about to be replaced?
ill let
make my point
the progress on graphical art has been much faster than driving
I have no idea why you're pretending that there won't eventually be a point where this does happen.
the tech is still in its infancy and it's already winning art competitions. give it a few years and artists will be replaced almost entirely.
The difference is that to implement self-driving cars, you need an AI that can predict human behaviour: the behaviour of pedestrians and other drivers. Making pretty pictures is much more tractable.
art can be automated because there are no consequences if ai screws up. You can always just make another picture. Or 500 more.
If car ai screws up you can end up with tens or hundreds of dead people.
If AI can't generate fingers that don't look like they stem from 20 generations of inbreeding then it doesn't matter whether you generate 50 pictures or 5000, it just won't work.
1.5 coming soon with better fingers.
1.5 what? Stable Diffusion?
Huh? The AI can generate fingers just fine. It just takes a bit of work.
You found the crux of the issue
You need someone at the wheel no matter what.
You really think logistics companies are going to pay someone to fricking babysit a self-driving truck for a living? It'd be cheaper for them to just write off the losses caused by trucks driving themselves into the Grand Canyon.
>what are airplane pilots
There is no way the government is going to allow fully self driving technology with no human onboard even if that tech was possible.
The government will do whatever it's paid to do, and there's more money in getting rid of drivers than there is in protecting them.
>There is no way the government is going to allow
Say anything otherwise and you get called blamed for being pro "child killing" by the social media mobs.
Stock go up.
ah yes
the AI hero that suddenly swerved, nearly killing children, but stopped itself just in time
stunning and brave
I didn't realize I would have to write an entire chapter in hopes a compelling story would lure you out from being selectively moronic for the lulz
accident-proneness is a measurable statistic
if human drivers on average cause 1 accident with lethal outcome every 100k kilometers, and AIs have 0.1 of those, then you don't need any "hero story"
*draws a dragon* what now
Are you saying you've never seen a picture of a dragon before?
Who drew the first dragon?
Some guy why had seen both a lizard and a bat and combined aspects of both. Same as the AI does.
>if human drivers on average cause 1 accident with lethal outcome every 100k kilometers, and AIs have 0.1 of those, then you don't need any "hero story"
Yes you do, because the vast majority of people are moronic and won't change their views just because you quote numbers and statistics at them. They need a compelling and emotional story, even if it's manufactured.
>3000 children die every year in car accidents
>90% of these deaths can be prevented
>let an AI drive today, think of the children!
There, no need to manufacture anything
>accident-proneness is a measurable statistic
>if human drivers on average cause 1 accident with lethal outcome every 100k kilometers, and AIs have 0.1 of those, then you don't need any "hero story"
There's also the question of who pays for liability. Industry won't want to. Insurance won't want to. The drivers who aren't even driving won't want to. Maybe government does like they do for vaccines?
>There's also the question of who pays for liability
The auto manufacturer, obviously.
1. It's their fault if their self driving software glitches out and kills someone
2. It properly aligns incentives for them to improve the safety of their self driving software
No other option makes any sense at all.
> obviously
If it were that simple and obvious, it would already be in place. But it is not that simple and it is not that obvious. The blame for the Boeing 737 super max is still going around in circles. Passed off to BAE, who subcontracted parts of the code out to another team etc etc. There is no "obvious" solution when it comes to insurance. If you don’t realise insurance companies and underwriters are the most powerful figures in the world you need to pay more attention.
So you've never seen a picture of a dragon before? Congratulations, I guess.
Companies really don't want to deal with lawsuits, it's easier to have a fall guy driver get sent to jail and fined than go bankrupt because your entire line of automated vehicles got suspended due to a minor incident.
Self driving isn't a thing yet. It's garbage. It's just a really good driver assistant. Nothing else
Why?
>computer

Says a lot about the quality of the "art" they produce.
Kino.
the fact this actually looks pretty good makes it even funnier
meh it's boring
personally, the famous banana duct-taped on the wall has less artistry integrity (the actual opera is the authenticity certificate, as they change the banana at least once a week per creator's instructions)
It's the maximum gimmick for the current art market, a giant tax write-off for the rich, due to a loop-hole in some law in the US (probably elsewhere too)
How many "AI is going to replace artists" threads have you made this week, homosexual?
This is honestly such a moronic thing to be afraid of. Art made by a person is still going to hold value. Not all art is bought on commission. I'd imagine most art actually worth something isn't commissioned in the sense that someone says "Paint me x".
>Art made by a person is still going to hold value.
Vocaloids and vtubers are proof that a synthetic substitute for a relationship with a person as creator/performer are often good enough.
100% of Pateon artists are now collectively shitting their pants. Rejoice, Anons.
Not even close. Not until you can make specific porn with it, or draw in a specific artstyle without huge mistakes.
This will bring about the next Hitler. I can't wait.
>"How dare you get artwork of that quality for free and instantly?!"
>You're supposed to commission us and pay us thousands of dollars for each and every single art piece you request and wait 4-12 HECKIN WEEKS FOR US, YOU HECKIN HECKS! AAAAAH!"
And then you don't even get to own the work either, the artist still wants the rights to it. Good fricking riddance
This is perfectly ethical, you just don't like it.

The same was said of Photoshop when it was new. This is the same way, another tool for making digital art.
>Photoshop had a massive negative impact on the section of art it applied to.
Citation needed.
I worked for a professional photo editing and retouching company that went out of business in the mid 2000s because of photoshop.
Ok, so you meant to say transformative. Old techniques are all inferior artistically and more costly than digital.
>so you meant to say transformative
If by that you mean "transform an industry into a bunch of unemployed people," sure. Whatever sugar-coated or twisted language you want to use, this is going to be much more impactful than photoshop was, and it's going to result in a lot of people losing their livelihoods. Sticking your fingers in your ears and pretending it won't isn't going to help anybody.
>going to result in a lot of people losing their livelihoods.
Good, they produce nothing of value anyway.
No artist or photographer came to speak for me when my job was on the line. Perhaps they should learn how to code.
>We don’t cry about how crossbar mechanisms
I didn't say anything about crying. I don't personally give a rat's ass if artists lose their already-shitty jobs and have to go find something else to do. But the people who are saying nothing will happen and artists *won't* lose their jobs are being morons, and I'm pointing that out.
I don't give a frick about 'muh artistic integrity' concerns. It's the inevitable chicken-choking scenario I'm worried about.
>infinitely generated porn
>write a prompt based on your niche fetish
>needs 30 words in the prompt to meet your moronic standards
>adjust variables and words for eternity to maintain infinite variation/novelty
>20 years later and you have a generation of NEETs who can only get off to "futa giantess girls transforming me into garbage cans w/ their feet as mommy incest feeds trash into my mouth while Aristotle watches from heaven with shame."

I'm starting to think that maybe Ted Kaczynski got some things right, bros
Ted was wrong in that our only chance is to seek salvation through technology against the odds. There's no going back; a few bombs in the mail won't change anything. Nor will any effort, practically speaking. Its a race to either a bad or a good outcome.

>Imagine a data center running 6K PhD lev...
He was ted wrong, tbqh
What are some "professions" you would like to see completely dead with its "professionals" homeless and starving?

The real artists will use AI to create mind blowing unique shit.
Its the lame twitter artists seething that their generic styles can be replicated by a computer.
Yeah, I envision in a few years the process will be something like an artist drawing up concepts, fine tuning Stable or the then derivative, and using that to mass produce content before everyone else catches up.
this
img2img is the real artist goldmine
you can sketch a scene and prompt that shit into what you want
Something like this probably, except you currently cannot own the copyright or IP on art produced by an AI. Begs the question of what amount of change to an AI original will grant the artist the IP rights, and it also means that the original drawing will still be public domain.
i'll be very curious to see the legal implications of this
at the end of the day, NNs can only generate stuff based on what they've already seen - there is likely already tooling made for debugging purposes that would let you see what parts of the output image came from what training images, and from that, you can see the potential licensing fees
now, if your NN is trained solely on public domain (or other permissinve licenses), it's all fine and dandy, but i bet these arent
i bet stock image websites are going to have a field day suing anyone who tries to sell the output of these, just like the asinine lawsuits in the music industry
>at the end of the day, NNs can only generate stuff based on what they've already seen
Same as humans. No legal issues.
>NNs can only generate stuff based on what they've already seen
This is literally the case for humans too.
patreonners, coooommission artists, concept art corporate hacks, and anyone else whose artistic existence revolves around delivering paid, polished, on-time, soulless 'art' precision engineered to make consumers' eyeballs vibrate at max frequency are all giga rekt by this tech.
So I expect in the future that the 'art' that humans engage in directly is going to revert to forms in which the metadata/emotion/intent/process still matters and is valued in some capacity by the viewers, vs the larger consumer crowd who just want polished pablum that makes their eyeballs pleasantly vibrate.
based
AI art isn't original, it literally copies someone else's style
the only ones affected are artstation artists that make concept art for mass production in the entertainment industry or graphic designers
contemporary art have take many forms and always live outside the industry standard
🙂
The only solution is socialist system and 4 hour working day. You can practice art or science in your free time, while working for society only 4 hours a day.
Of course you must also give up on luxury of liberal capitalist society too. Cannot have the good things of both worlds.
I wouldn't call liberal capitalist society luxury for most people.
But the elites will complain. For example, in USSR even when living better than normies, elites still thought that it's not good enough when they saw how the elites in capitalist world lived in luxury.
Most artgays have this kind of mentality that they will be elites, so it's not a coincidence that they don't like "totalitarian" much.
> Most artgays have this kind of mentality that they will be elites
I think one of us is a bit out of touch here, I don't think I've ever run into any artists who see themselves as becoming elites.
I won't deny those people exist but I don't think that's most artists unless you're looking at people here on IQfy specifically.
Thank you. This is a really good post, and it reminds me of how it felt to use FurAffinity years ago.
Why isn't fast food automated yet?
Human labor is still cheaper. Though per-store staff is way down thanks to automation, so it's already started.
Because it's cheaper to exploit humans.

That's literally nothing like a skinner box.
>This will grind the sanity of every person alive to a pulp compared to that.
Dumbest thing I've read in a while.

Yeah anon. Comparisons. Most sane people call those comparisons. I see you struggle with very simple things. Get well soon.
Yes. Well, ecchi at least.
When it takes jobs from coders it's not a problem. When it takes jobs from porn stars with deep fakes it's not a problem.
When it takes jobs from writers by writing in new funny formats it's not a problem.
But now that art is under attack it's a problem? Artists are the vegans of the career world.
> concerned
good, kys gay
first they came for the artists, but they did not care for they were not artists
don't be a luddite
computers doing labor, freeing up valuable manpower for other work is good for everyone
first they came for the artists, but they did not care for they deserved it
Oh no, I won't have to work anymore. Maybe the butt fricking commies are onto something for once. I hope you don't still pay taxes.
Be ready for lots of death and hardship
> Computer, generate an image from the following list of prompts:
> anime, girlfriend, smiling, happy, facing you, going in for a hug, The C Programming Language, tomboy, programmer, love, cute and funny, trad waifu, pure, not lewds, diamonds, christian imageboard, cropped, technoe-girl, nightcore, monster energy drink
> computer, disable janny protocols
This is what the computer generated in 4s for you.
am in love
>extremely concerned
Oh no let's stop all machine learning research to protect Twitter "artists."
>spend hours fricking around with prompts to get a rough approximation of what you wanted
>pay an artist to draw exactly what you want
>learn how to draw and draw it to perfection
Good. Frick today's "artists". Nowadays art is seen as a commodity and these Twitter morons are solely responsible for it. They pushed the soulless artstyles like the calarts style to push out more works like it's fricking McDonalds, and they sold their dignity to cater to coomers for their commissions.
They set themselves up to be replaced.
Modern artists are gay but this isn't art
Based on what metric?
A person didn't make it. Machines aren't capable of consciousness so they can't "create" anything. They merely can produce things Ala industrial machinery or a calculator.
>A person didn't make it
That is incorrect. This might be a different medium compared to using a paintbrush and the barrier for entry is significantly lower, but it's still a tool which is used by humans to create art. Some humans will be better at using this tool than others, just as with with a paintbrush, a chisel, 3ds max, or any other tool which is used for creating art.
Well in that case these basedjaks need to stop being cringe acting like the machine is doing it on its own.
I dont think most people are saying this isnt a tool, whats your point?
Sharpness is the metric
What makes you think sharpness is a metric?
If any of you guys play video games or make them, you should be very concerned about this. If you thought game marketplaces were already flooded with trash games just wait till the art barrier falls. Not being able to make or afford art for their shit game is one of the last things stopping any moron from slapping together a game. Steam for instance already has ~800 games released on it every month. This is going to make finding good games and selling good games even harder.
Damn.. You think it will be able to create good pixelart spritesheeta and tilesets? Becauae then that would be truly a catastrophe.
I'm fairly confident that being able to generate pixel art is just a matter of retraining it with an appropriately tagged pixel art data set.
this will be a boon for fast-fashion """devs""" who vomit up bullshots of Non-Existing games
and then make whatever gets the most pre-orders
We'll just have AI write good games. CHECKMATE, ATHEISTS.
x% of any of the pool of games at any time are any good or worth playing -- same with other mediums. its usually 5% worthwhile art to 95% garbage, increased games means statistically more and better games, even if the relationship of good to trash tips toward trash
Simple, just train an AI to recognize which games are fun.
wow very cool art degree you have, ok ill have the big mac with uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Sorry anon, the cashiers have already been replaced with touchscreen kiosks
>now with voice recognition
this is good.
art should be a personal exploration, done for one's own intrinsic interests, to fulfill internal purpose, process internal inquiries, and develop one's own expression... not to pump out shitty commissions so you can buy overpriced burritos as you seek notoriety via a quirky omg-so-youneek art style
don't get tricked into supporting the AI israelite just because it's artgays that got the shit end of the stick first
ai art is demonic and pedophilic
On serious note, it was an eventuality like all of human life being replaced by ai. What I didn't expect is so many spiteful people joining in to exaggerate it just to show up real artists. The art world already has photobashers, and they immediately get bad rep because art also relies on the context of humans doing it.
everyone keeps screaming about AI art but there hasn't been a single good piece produced on easily available hardware
it looks so bad beyond thumbnails, and nobody works with fricking thumbnails when it comes to concepts
Why are you unable to extrapolate into the future?
cry harder, you still need to be an artist to leverage these new tools to their full extent
its raises the bar for what is a shit artist and many shit artists are scared
i can see through all of these images except this one. what is this supposed to resemble at first glance?
IToddlers BTFO
i have never owned an iPoop device
goatsee
it will come for 3d too, nvdia is working on that
Eventually you'll be able to generate entire 3D scenes on the fly with prompt generation with the ability to edit them after the fact.
A.I. is perfectly capable of eliminating 90% of code monkey jobs. Web devs are about to be obsolete.

You've got a long way to go before you can steal my audience AI.
cool, give it a week.
the only way to stop it is the glowBlack folk feeling their open stash threatened.
show me your P
atrion so I can download your stuff off the booru and plug it into a new training set.
Can someone buy 10000 hours of chinese supercomputer time and make a SD model of the entirety of e6? Tagging is already pretty much done and then AI auto-tagging can be used to improve even more.
So what are they gonna do when AI can generate believable pizza images?
You mean right now?
If "as an artist" that mofo is concerned im 100% positive that he is a crapy artist, they are not seeing the true potential, they are afraid if being displaced, what a looser
And as a coomer, I am extremely aroused.
Pests. You will all understand the magnitude of your sin when it is too late.
I will kill you all I will kill every single one of you. Once I am standing atop the mountain of corpses which your rotting, fat-laced bodies will finally give back to the Earth which you have taken from You will all die you will all suffer I will have committed such atrocities that God himself will frown as I scream to the heavens he will cast me down to hell to burn with all of you for eternity I will suffer too but it would be worth it as nothing could be worse than the mortal world which you all taint
>tl;dr: I'm gay.
>beep boop This Action Was Performed By A Bot
>everyone says good
>but.then coding AI is cheating and/or not it actually coding
we're next, morons. and if your first thought is "that's ok, i'm hardware" well congrats but so is every other ex-programmer that still wants to work with machines.
>but.then coding AI is cheating and/or not it actually coding
You wanna try that again in English?
>It took scribbes 10 years to finish a book
>books were then more expensive luxury objects than a horse or a house
>some gay invents the printing press
>OMG this will end books
This is just printing press 2.0 luddite arguments.
It did finish off scribbes, that's the actual point.
I still think the top artists that are good enough to edit and fix gens will be fine.
I also believe that their art will become more valuable, for the ones that are already popular anyway
good.
Accelerate.
Automate and optimize away all the unnecessary clerical bullshit and continue to develop and refine routines and computer vision for driving production manufacturing, energy management, and logistics. Middle management is not needed.
Toil will not be tolerated.
RJ Palmer can shove his concern up his own ass.
NOOOOOOOO NOT MY HECKIN GOVERNMENT GRANT TO SHIT ON A CANVAS HOW WILL I PAY OFF MY STUDENT LOANS NOW AAAAAHHHHHH BIDENMAN PLEASE SAVE ME
I feel bad for some artists. Not most, because trying art as a career is like buying lotto tickets from the getgo.
That said, holy shit. 20 years ago the projected first career paths to get replaced were manual labor and retail. Retail was accurate, but next is art and ironically the next appears to be tech itself, with labor being last because no company worth their salt is going to risk a lawsuit just so their $60,000 construction robot can make a mistake and kill itself or someone else.
>HEH STUPID CODE MONKEYS AND TRADIES, YOU WILL BE REPLACED BY AI UNLIKE US CREATIVES!!
Today
>uhh can I get a CS job at 38 with zero experience????
creatives can't get replaced tho, is just that you will need another kind of creative, you could even say that the barrier is lower than ever now since everyone has ideas, but not 10 years of experience drawing
Take a look at some of the stuff I made. Never had more fun in a while.
Treasure Planet. Now just imagine the possibilities when we reach a stage that you could plug that picture in as input, have it interpreted, and a fully realized 3D mesh model of that ship generated. Built out interior, fully detailed complex assembly, skinned, animated, ready to go. Tweak the glossiness or opacity of the windows in a shader parameter.
Anon we'll have that in two years
Full movie generation in five years
Video games by 2030
>Video games by 2030
thinking we will have a completely ai generated videogames in 8 years is pure delusion
still pretty par for the course with IQfy schizos
What part would take longer?
Same anon, this is great
Bruh u are gonna give sauce on hiw to generate that right
>I made
You better attribute all your shitty "art" to your paintbrushes, not to yourself, idiot
Art was already democratized by shit like tablets and photoshop and nothing changed.
artists will just have to pivot to the genres that the large companies hosting these AI platforms won't want their AI to produce due to ~~*their*~~ influence.
like does anyone really think they'll let these things mass produce e-girl rape porn? artists still have the most profitable genres since those are the ones that aren't politically correct.
>like does anyone really think they'll let these things mass produce e-girl rape porn?
You can self host stable diffusion and generate this right now.
Did they actually train the model on porn?
Almost certainly yes. I've put in some prompts with Reilly Reid. Most got censored but some didn't. The ones that didn't get filtered were freaky as shit since the body parts were all smeared and wrong, but clearly emulated porn scenes.
if it can't even do porn stars there's zero chance it's going to be doing e-girl porn
>there's zero chance it's going to be doing e-girl porn
lol
Again, the existing model can do this
yeah sure, it censors even pornstars unless it's so deformed it can't recognize it as such but it's gonna be dumping e-girl porn
or even better, here
I told it to generate the stickers, and there's a version without it
no reason I couldn't have added "e-girl, small breasts" to the prompt instead of "big breasts"
>those hands
just for you, I passed it through img2img a few times
where did you generate the original?
I used a local webui SD repo and generated it on my pc
It's the recommended github in the /sdg/ thread
Check out the /h/ thread moron, it doesn't censor anything
how much vram will that take though
its been fun watching all the dunning krueger failures from IQfy over the last 2 weeks as they confidently share their hot takes about tech they dont understand
Should you be able to win art awards entering AI generated art?
What if I generate an image with AI, but then I take the image and paint it on a canvas?
I'm so close to being happy, we're almost there
Just a few more years of development and with the click of a button any entertainment you imagine will be yours
We cannot allow people to try and stop AI tech from advancing, it should be one of the greatest threats to humanity
Lol lemme guess there is a catch to this.
A human being with artistic sense is actively selecting good looking picture/output and discardig uninteresting ones.
As a scientist with publications i swear this field is also full of scams
Generate them yourself and see moron
Have you missed the 30 thousand stable diffusion threads on IQfy in the last week?
>A human being with artistic sense is actively selecting good looking picture/output and discardig uninteresting ones.
it's not some private thing that is being curated for a paper. it's a tool anyone can use literally right now. so a human being with artistic sense can generate images, pick interesting ones, manipulate those with other programs and tools digitally, and those resulting pieces can be trained on further or used as inspiration for more art
pls share more stable diff pepes
digital art has always been a niche, just like instrument players
Having YouTube on your cellphone didn't cease people from playing guitars.
People who commission artists will still keep doing so, and people who didn't commission artists still won't.
what will ex concept artists do now
>nooo you can't just use Adobe Photoshop, you have to use paint and canvas
>Artist
Shut up, and complete your soulless corporate art project on Adoisraelite illustrator
>Muh AI art is bad AnD IM COnCerNEd
hope liberal arts degree holders burn in the worst place of hell, to think they are capable to imitate great artists.
>artists for decades have been telling deindustrialized areas full of rednecks that they're just subhuman backwater morons and that them going unemployed due to chinese manufacturing is a good thing and they need to adapt to the times
>now technology is going to make them rot in the streets as well
lmao good riddance
now do music.
I want to never listen to the same song again but always enjoy it.
I'm amazed that people find this concerning. Artists finally get to dedicate their lives around art that they're passionate about instead of being drones making corporate art. AI/automation replacing humans in jobs should be a liberating thing. The problem is not with the technology, the problem is whether or not our society/economy is ready to handle it (which we are not).
i still cant get over that a few fricking nerds killed art
you morons still think this killed art? this is a very useful tool, but you're fricking moronic if you think copilot is killing programming.
none of these tools are standalone, they still require human input and correction on the output.
these are time savers at best, and artists are also fricking moronic for not making good use of this.
>As an artist
>Gamer who just draws existing content in different shitty styles
Same old talentless crowd crying that their Pokémon drawing can now be done by AI.
So does child porn from this harm children?
Black person why do you insist on that?
why do pedos insist on getting cp?
Because it's an excellent test for morals vs usability
Would you fight global warming if it meant pedos are cooler and comfier?
yes it does harm children
as you mentally damaged freaks will further indulge in your sick fantasies and more of you subhumans will bring their delusions into the real world harming innocent children
there is a radicalization going on in your brains which will only be speed up by easier access
resulting in more violent more deranged behaviour and more hurt children
eat a fricking bullet you sick frick
See, here's someone who shows they follow buzzwords time and again
They like their little hats
Hmm, I was thinking about earning some money on the side by drawing, though I guess I'll need to draw furry inflation or pony porn instead of generic fantasy shit. What a time to be alive.
Understand that those are literally days away from having models trained to generate them.
But what about the people who want a certain art style that doesn't have a big sample size at all?
It's gotta be a pretty original style. The AI can extrapolate; that's why you can get it to generate anime characters in Victorian style for example.
inflation or pony porn
>he doesn't know about the /trash/ Stable Diffusion general that's making progress towards furry porn
>he doesn't know about the /mlp/ Stable Diffusion general that's making progress towards pony shit
anon... it's over
>he's actually satisfied with the porn produced by SD
Jesus frick anon get some fricking standards or maybe a pair of glasses. Alternatively, stop watching porn
What's wrong with it?
You can't read for shit
If you want to do pony
[email protected]
the thing is AI can't actually create styles.
Maybe it will finally put an end to the massive amount of racket modern and contemporary art has become
anyone got any screenshots of these artists seething on twitter or something? i like to read those kek
link?
>computer does all art around the world now
>no human does art anymore
>20 years later not a single human knows how to decorate or make anything of value like a statue or picture
we are living in the satanic end times
You don't know how to muck a stable, shift a car,nor work in a barley field with bronze
I know how to work a field, the rest someone else knows.
No clue how an autist like you gets from
>someone knows how to make a statue
to
>I as a single person do not know how to do everything
No suprise that human robots (autists/satanic demons) are buddies with the AI
Your knowledge of satanism exceeds mine
Enjoy being the conduit
Yep
Unsurprisingly this is seperation muh values of pi science enthusiast from the why didn't I fail that test paycheck humping stemmer
>technical skill equals having a good eye for art
you are moronic
Artists just need to use this to make something resembling child porn and then make some noise regarding it to get it banned.
if you don't like AI you will be left behind, but those who embrace it and use it to improve their work flow will reach new heights
they will become dependent cattle and nothing else. They won't know how to shit into a bucket without "AI help"
AI can't make 100% what you're thinking of unless you're an npc.
AI will always be a tool that will be used on the side, not a full replacement
There's already infighting over who is even allowed to write prompts for these AI
Talks of suing people for using similar prompts and whatnot.
>souless computer can create "art" that looks like it was made by a modern artist
What does that say about modern art?
finally i can have some nice wallpapers without having to suck the dck of those neet artist that charges 9999 dollars to draw it
frick artist they are an invasive species in the world
Never would've expected first field to grt wiped by AI to be a creative one like art. I now fully expect web programming and more to be wiped by AI
AI is literally going to destroy human civilization
if everybody is left unemployed and therefore broke because of machines then who's going to pay you for whatever services you offer you stupid Black folk.
Learn to die, worthless deprecation
Learn a actual useful job and buy a robot to work for you.
all jobs are useful, otherwise they wouldn't exist you fricking moron
>learn a useful job
it gets automated. what then, learn another "useful job" that will get automated?
>but anon, you will have more free time? don't you want to spend you free time doing thing #32213 that was also automated?
have a nice day you demented bugmen
programmers next, just wait for copilot 2
/ic/ has been melting down for months
I like how the burger flipper liberal arts is the one not being replaced, while all those looking down and saying they have a real job are getting pink slips
https://www.latimes.com/business/technology/story/2020-02-27/flippy-fast-food-restaurant-robot-arm
we're all doomed anon
this shit makes me want to say "frick everything" and go die in battle in some irrelevant shithole's civil war
You say that, yet that ain't a restraunt
