*he claims his dad worked for the CIA
the guy is a fraud grifter, you can't believe anything he says. i'll admit it's very impressive that he's managed to turn his 5 minutes of fame into a half hour and he's milked it for all it's fricking worth financially for sure

I hate his guy, but the only thing I really know about him is that his dad was a fairly good chess player. I'd imagine there's at least a little bit of public information available about his career somewhere

his dad was a legit grandmaster but there's 0 evidence about the CIA shit anywhere

damn I'd imagine it probably is just more grifting content then. But yeah I've seen a few of his games (not in person lol) and his play is all around excellent

He was a chess grandmaster who knew like 6 languages and had military experience, I'm not saying that he WAS a glowie but he's the exact type of person the CIA would have tried to recruit during the Cold War

The only good Tate content is when he's on Fresh and Fit (all the other episodes without him are shit) because you can see in real time how he works a room full of combative women to the point that they're hanging on his every word. If you've ever had a chad friend that has that magnetic aura to him when it comes to women it's that kinda thing but with like 10 girls at once. Genuinely impressive.

I think there's a component of horrified fascination in his belief that's involved. Like a personified true crime episode where the subject is indisputably successful financially/sexually and yet still one of the worst possible kinds of people to be around.

corporate narcissists tend to have a similar effect. For example I actually greatly enjoy listening to martin shkreli's occasional appearances and watched his chemistry livestreams back in 2016 or whenever, but at a higher level I recognize that he's a terrible person. I prefer the snobbish kind of unsavory sociopath to this version as entertainment I guess. neither of them are good role models by any means.

I agree. In many situations I laugh at the stuff he says and couldnt imagine myself thinking that, but as you said he is undeniably succesful so im just fascinated in a way.

Hes definitely right when he encourages young people to start some, any business for that matter. In a lot of situations you barely have to spend money and you just have to get out of your comfort zone. In the beginning find some job that you can work with your hands and that you can expand in the future(in the future hopefully you wont have to do it by yourself!).

there is an opportunity cost involved there though. If you're doing nothing at all then trying anything is gonna be better than doing nothing, but dropping out of school or related stuff is a pretty big risk. most businesses will fail anyway, and even if you can start one cheaply it'll still probably require you to quit your job unless it's online marketing or similar scam designs. not that I wouldn't love to be running a successful drop shipping company and getting paid for doing nothing afterwards, but few people are lucky enough for this to work out even if they do have the potential to set ever

Best thing to do is start something you can do with your hands weekends in the morning. Then its only up to you to do work, you can include a good friend to start working with you, for example im in college and im thinking about starting a small business of installing media systems into peoples homes. Its something not a lot of people know how to do but I happen to know about it.

hm that might be able to make you some money, yeah.
i'm also in college but I'm grinding for grad school since I don't really have much familiarity with how to run a business with a bunch of employees and stuff. I don't think I'd particularly enjoy that either, just knowing who I am to some extent lol. If you think you could enjoy it though, I'm sure it'd be very rewarding to have some sort of business that you can call you own. having some degree of responsibility to your collaborators to keep the thing alive is probably pretty fulfilling as well.

yeah im studying physics and im planning to finish it, it really interests me, but i dont 100% trust ill have a good/rewarding job after. And at this time i have the energy to start something. Hope you find something.

nice! physics is a fun subject. I'm intending to go on in math, but I picked up CS on the side for job security reasons

I hope you'll be able to either find something or create it for yourself too!

Stem really is ruthless though huh? But assuring low grades isnt that hard and its really rewarding to learn.

real and true. grad schools are picky about that unfortunately, eats up most of my time these days trying to trick them into thinking I'd be a good researcher lmao. math itself and some closely related sciences (especially physics) have probably been the most rewarding things to learn about I've ever tried to understand - definitely agree

Obviously many of the things he says is moronic but popularizing anti-women sentiment and antifeminism at his level makes him a net positive public figure by a large margin. Countersignaling him is moronic because if he can move the overton window on the women question by even an inch, he's done his part for the good of society. Don't give him any money though.

      Anonymous

I think it's more acceptable to counter-signal in the context of NSFFW as far as optics are concerned. there's already a lot of that sentiment here so it's probably more helpful to keep people from drinking the coolaid completely since they'll likely be aware of those other things already to some extent.
      >women question
stealing this for later use btw lmao

I'm pretty okay with people like Tate. They say moronic shit but they're a positive force for the zeitgeist all things considered (so long as you ignore the homosexual redpill evopsych and pyramid schemes).
