i found this one episode of are you afraid of the dark, "The Tale of the Time Trap". it was on channel 33 of cable TV. this channel is called "spark", as in the divine spark. 33 is a significant number because apparently 33% of the angels fell from heaven with lucifer. this channel has a ton of depictions of satan. even just checking the names of what TV shows are airing is mysterious, you'll see words like "falling" often.

I firmly believe that it is an improvement, in terms of building an accurate model of the universe, which I consider very imprtant. However, it isn't without flaws. One major downside of science is that it is simply incapable of providing the same level of psychological comfort as something like Christianity, at least on its own, with what we've discovered so far. It's almost a necessity to pair it with some form of personal spirituality. Another problem, which it shares with other major religions, is that it is frequently twisted by and used as a vehicle for political propaganda.

Morality is separate from religion. It's no coincidence that most religions and ideologies have some variant of the golden rule or the non-aggression policy. "Don't hurt people" is a very natural concept, any sane person can immediately understand it.

It is natural for humans to form explanations for things they don't understand. In the past, it was storms and floods, the sun and moon and stars, etc., natural phenomena that we would later gain a greater understanding of, alongside concepts that we still don't understand fully, like the creation of the universe and death. In the case of death specifically, it's natural for people to cope with death by imagining an afterlife. Science is basically a religion in this sense, it's just a religion based only on what can be observed and tested. People study the sciences nowadays for the same reasons they might have studied the bible a few centuries ago.

However, they didn't yet have methods of long distance communication, so at one point your understanding of the world was limited to what the other guys in your tribe could tell you and what you could see yourself. I firmly believe that it is an improvement, in terms of building an accurate model of the universe, which I consider very imprtant. However, it isn't without flaws. One major downside of science is that it is simply incapable of providing the same level of psychological comfort as something like Christianity, at least on its own, with what we've discovered so far. It's almost a necessity to pair it with some form of personal spirituality. Another problem, which it shares with other major religions, is that it is frequently twisted by and used as a vehicle for political propaganda.
