There is no moral justification for eating animals in a modern society

Because we no longer need to eat animals to survive, so we’re just forcing them to suffer needlessly for our own pleasure

Cows and pigs do just fine in the wild, anon. Of course, most or all of the factory-farmed animals will have to be put down or sterilized, but after that there will be no more suffering caused by us.

You are beyond braindead, no these animals would not be walking around in civilized societies. These animals exist because of humans use of them, just like horses. You go tell the cow that's laying and chilling on the grass that he's suffering

You want to murder millions and millions of cows, pigs, and chickens and forcibly breed more and more of them for the express purpose of being enslaved and slaughtered constantly into perpetuity and have no justification for doing so besides eating them for pleasure, not necessity

What you're doing is functionally no different than someone raising puppies solely so they can shoot them for fun

Animals in humans' diets is a necessity, veganism is extremely unhealthy and there plenty of previous vegans who will tell you how much it destroyed their health.

These animals want to exist and breed like every other animal in existence, your using a humans perspective to judge the quality of their existence. Is a dog's life not worthy because it has a master? Animals have different evolutionary preferences that fit with what has given them the biggest chance of reproduction/offspring survival. To suggest that cows, pigs and chicken are interested in "freedom" as humans define it, is just a hilariously stupid proposition.

          Anonymous

Animals in humans' diet is not a necessity. Virtually every nutritional benefit that can be gained from consuming animals can be gained from another non-animal source. The only true exception is vitamin B12, which can easily be supplemented. Pointing to vegans who failed at maintaining a healthy diet is not an argument, I can just as easily point to countless non-vegans or meat lovers who have terrible health too.

There is no moral justification for killing a sentient being unnecessarily. Unless you think it's fine for someone to just murder dogs for fun?

Lots of dogs & cats are "murdered" when the owner realizes it has too many injuries to continue living a reasonably happy life. This happens under heavy sedation, and is not considered immoral. Cows, pigs & chickens are also heavily sedated when they are murdered, so what is even the difference. You keep pointing to them "suffering", but when do they suffer exactly? Because their date of death is fixed as opposed to "natural"? You seriously think the animal gives this any thought? How is this any different from pets getting euthanised?

            >Lots of dogs & cats are "murdered" when the owner realizes it has too many injuries to continue living a reasonably happy life.
So how is that in any way related to anything we're talking about? Animals raised for meat are not just animals that are heavily injured being put out of their misery. They are killed unnecessarily for our own pleasure. If someone shot cats and dogs for fun you would obviously find that disturbing yet you have no issue with cows, chickens, and pigs getting killed needlessly for your own pleasure

And again your alternative is that none of these animals exist, which I assure you none of them want to happen. But keep pretending that you are "moral" because you attribute human desires of freedom upon animals that don't have the same desires as you, and it's even more ironic that animals in the wild tend to suffer way more because their death will often be slow and painful and they could go weeks without finding food. So your suffering argument doesn't even make any sense in a utilitarian sense

Are you opposed to factory farming? If so, why?
If you lived in a place where you had access only to factory farmed animal products, would you consider going vegan? If not, is your comment about factory farming a red herring?

You're sitll just as moronic the rest of the times you've made this idiotic thread. You still have never offered up any meaningful distinction why it is okay to eat plants and fungi but not animals other than an appeal to "Muh sentience", which in previous threads you couldn't define nor could actually justify.

OP, stop thinking your feels are justification for anything. Grow up.

Treating the animals well is good.
    Factory farming sucks.

Watch the "Epitomy of Malnourishment" videos on Youtube or Rumble if you want to see how much harm Veganism does. That is definitely not the way. We are blessed or cursed, depending on your perspective, to require meat for our health. So higher standards for meat production is the path. Anybody interested in humanely sourced meat should hook up with their local Weston A Price Foundation chapter and source good foods from local farmers.

To be honest I kind of agree. When I see a cute little calf, lamb, or piglet I feel guilty about eating them.

But they're just so yummy though....

I wish synthetic meat hadn't been turned into a culture war and turned into an object of hate by the right. I think it is a good solution, it allows us to continue eating meat, we use less land space, and we don't harm animals.

Vegans at it again thinking they're guilt free stuffing their faces with vegetables that have claimed billions of lives in the form of insects, rodents and birds. Not to mention cleared rainforest for their oils, yes that includes the Amazon because after the cattle industry (which vegans often put the blame on) have gone through, then comes the soibean farmers buying the cleared land for cheap.
They're so goddamn hypocritical and doesn't even notice it themselves. They put emotional value on cows and pigs while ignoring mentioned billions of lives that gets wasted then brings up pets not realizing people do not value cows and pigs the same as cats and dogs, just like how vegans don't care about insects, rodents and birds.
Then fricking cow farts (burps) being the cause of climate change when all it's diet comes from grass and other useless shit we can't eat, grass which takes carbon from the air to grow, which the cows exhale either in form of co2 or methane completing the natural cycle (carbon neutral). Methane turns into water and co2 after a few years so it's not something that builds up even if it's a stronger greenhouse gas. Speaking of methane, that's what's used in chemical fertilizers, the stuff that's used everywhere to grow food where they don't use manure (which there will be less of if vegans have their way). This methane comes from natural gas, a fossil fuel. Growing vegetables, the way it's done today, puts more co2 into the atmosphere and contributes to climate change.
Frick you, you blissfully ignorant vegan fricks.
