The drug war is of course leftwing, it was created by the PFDA and other leftist regulations. The modern drug war is pharma and other left groups.
So despite some republicans the drug war is a left thing and collapses.

To be fair, most of the entire planet's modern drug prohibition laws can in fact be traced back to Nixon's 'War on Drugs' campaign and the UN conference following it.
After he banned a massive slew of recreational drugs the rest of the developed world matched him.
There were of course drug prohibition laws before Nixon, but that was the major turning point where drugs being illegal became more of a default expectation instead of an exception.

There's a theory it was lobbied by a US's media magnat of this time in order to secure traditional production of paper when non-drug cannabis was becoming the best and cheapest material for everything, from ropes to paper.

It was so agressive it caused USSR to drop it, while they were a big international producer and exporter of said material. Now, Russia has small shops of cringey goods with a constant reminder 'it's not a drug' at every turn.

I'm sad I can't buy clothes of it rather than c*tton. They could've been cheaper if they haven't happened to become a niche hipster gimmick.

          >There's a theory it was lobbied by a US's media magnat
that's not a theory, unless you think it's a coincidence that william randolph hearst, the man who owned newspapers and enough pulp paper mills to supply all that newspaper plus sell wood pulp paper in bulk on the side, started his anti-cannabis smear campaign immediately after a hemp processing machine was invented that made superior hemp paper affordable enough to compete with pulp paper - before the decorticator was invented, hemp stalks had to be separated in to fibers manually.

Actually the fact that there was movement against a legitimately awful and exploitative drug related practice - just putting every addictive and intoxicating narcotic chemical you can get your hands on in a bottle and calling it Dr Wonderful's Miracle Tonic for Relief of Colds, Flus, Arthritis, Female Hysteria, Polio, Cancer, and Syphilis - is probably the only reason they were able to work up a war on drugs. Naturally, poor people were the ones who got the consequences for it though, not the companies who made millions on those addictive death wienertails.

I disagree. When I was in my early 20s I was a socially awkward nerd. I wanted to do drugs. I thought they would make me cool, likeable, the life of the party, etc. They simply weren't available though.

Someone out there was doing their job. Guys in law enforcement were out there somewhere behind the scenes fighting the drug war successfully, which prevented people like me from getting drugs.

As a more mature adult person who wants nothing to do with drugs, I am eternally grateful to these people who are fighting that fight. I'm pretty sure I would have screwed up my life rather badly had I gotten on drugs.

Furthermore, as I have gained more life experience and been around many people who use drugs, I've become quite aware of just how destructive they are to society as well as the individuals who use them.

The War On Drugs has not been won. It is an ongoing fight against a social malignancy so awful and dire that it must always be fought. Drugs destroy lives, poison our youth and corrode the vitality of the nation. They must never be tolerated or legalized.

Pic: My former co-worker. He was a father and a husband, also a chronic addict and drug dealer. A while ago he took a running leap off of a 70' tower at work (sans parachute). He was probably high as a kite at the time and thought God was telling him to fly or something, another life ruined, another casualty of drugs.
