the sock question

>cotton is a bit cold and gets damp
>just wear wool brah
>wool itches eternally and bulks up your shoes even more that are already slim
>back to cotton when you have had enough of itching
has the sock problem been solved yet?

yeah I’m wondering if it’s truly a (Me) problem but I am afraid to try even more expensive merinowool socks if the problem persists and they are still itchy, they are expensive

Obviously you would wear a liner sock, an insulating sock, and then winter boots

at that point I would need hecking moon boots with all the added width bulk
I just wanna casualmaxx not hecking hikemaxx with five layer socks just to go outside
      >just don’t have wool touch your skin

The best on I’ve tried so far are these:
Not available anymore sadly and I had other models from them which were not very good.
The next best ones are some work socks from Costco with 66% wool, but they’re very thick so only suitable for really cold days, pic rel.

the only thing I can think of is to buy expensive ass hiking merino ones
but paying the same for two socks as as much as I got boots for once is kinda insane goytax

What brand makes the itchiest wool socks?

thick ones with just wool, the hairs are thick as heck and will itchmaxx

          your grandma

Honestly just sounds like your boots aren’t really protective enough. A proper winter boot shouldn’t let any snow in.

completely waterproof, no snow was let in, it’s entirely up to the cold itself and not enough insulation

      synthethic linerfags won…. it’s over
I don’t have enough space for a mid thickness fat sock already now I am supposed to add another sock too
      I’m hecking finished

Yo dude I gotta say, there’s comfy wool socks. REI has some, smart wool has some, darn tough, American Trench and The Buffalo Wool Co has top tier socks, very soft, very warm and can be worn for a long time

hiker tier wool socks cost a metric heck ton, but with wool socks atleast you don’t need many pairs at all you can literally use one pair for a week straight

We were always winning. Just buy a super thin men’s cotton or stocking sock? Shouldn’t add too much.

how is a cotton sock a liner? it does not transport moisture like the point is
      >Shouldn’t add too much.
I already don’t like anything more than a flat knitted sock, shoes are too small

      i wear danish performance
      >wool itches
      stop buying cheap wool

      >just buy expensive
this the only trial I have left
I hear people complain about itch even with the most ultrapremium stuff too though so not sure

$40 for a pair of socks that feel good to wear that you can use thousands of times is not a metric heck ton.
Also. I am a poorfag. But i have been much happier with my wardrobe since i stopped being afraid of spending money. I buy fewer things now, but what i do buy is higher quality and closer to the ideal of what i want and therefore more gratifying. Because good quality things cost money. Crazy, right. Thats how it is, youre never going to find a cheap option thats just as good as the "expensive" stuff. Stop even thinking in the mindset that quality goods are "expensive". They cost more money because more time, effort, and quality material goes into making them.

I wear smartwool socks every day of the year, except when I’m going barefoot.
if it goes below 30F, I just wear two pairs.

    they don’t itch at all.

Where can you find comfy tights with feet for men? The only ones I find are questionable when it comes to comfiness
inb4 gay, I don’t care it’s comfy and I wear pants over them anyway

Merino wool is not any itchier than cotton. Don’t be stupid. Spend the $20 and find out what you’ve been missing out on.

Yes. Good wool doesn’t itch. Shit, even Costco wool socks don’t itch. I’ve never had a wool sock itch. We can manufacture things better these days.

just get a synthetic/wool blend. My favorite jumper is 90 percent acrylic, 10 percent wool and its comfy af and has lasted me over 10 years. This problem has been solved for about 40 years already dumb dumb
