No, you stupid fuck, leatherworking is a learnable skill. Considering all purchasable boots are worthless trash, it would be the most efficient method of acquiring functionally complete footwear.

all these (You)'s and they are all more retarded than the last.
idk about this brand OP has posted but $200 for a decent pair of boots in 2k20+3 is pretty decent. I paid the same for mine over a decade ago and they're super heavy duty
For $100 more you can get some Red Wing Roughnecks with real Vibram souls. I've worn mine for 10 winters and they still look almost new. Made in USA, cork, leather and no plastic. Seriously that sole will outlive me.
I've got my end game boots already with the RWs. Honestly with how fucked up my foot is I'd be wasting money buying anything else at this point. Anything with a cushioned insole will make my foot cramp out it's got to be hard and ideally leather.
Those look really nice, 100% would wear for hiking/riding.
But I used a pair of steel blues like OPs pick in place of gumboots to work as a concreter for two years, the leather got soaked and dried out so many times they went nearly black, still havent worn out.
Yeah I also have a pair of Red Wing chukkas for more formal wear at the office, get lots of compliments. The Roughnecks though with that Vibram sole are heavy as hell, great if your standing and working in one spot but yuo'll get a workout hiking in them, but those babies are not going ANYWHERE in mud, snow, etc.
Steel blue is an aussie brand and are basically the Air Jordan's of mining, construction and heavy industry. Well made comfortable solid boots, if a little heavy. I find the pumas more comfortable but the pumas fall apart after 6 months.

You guys have a lower cost of living and are an outsourcing destination for Europe why do they cost so much and not even look like real leather? It looks like that weird fake-leather shit that soviet army boots were made of.
Average US made boot price is $200 for massed produced military/police products or $300-400 for the smaller companies. This means all or virtually all materials are also made here. You pay a little more if you want insulated/waterproof
it's real leather, and they even let you track the source. Also I didn't pay $500, I managed to grab them at some discount, might have in the end been like $250-$300. I think a big chunk of the price comes from vibram soles, which are pretty expensive, but great for hiking and durable

Once you took the boot pill you wont ever wear other feetwear again. I can't but chuckle looking at the tennis shoes and sneakers most man run around with.
This is the best advice. Cheap boots may get you a year or two, good ones may last a lifetime. When considering price, consider how long you will likely own them.
IDK what kind of work you do but I wore these for years as a pool cleaner to keep my feet warm and dry. Had to buy a new one every 6 months and they used to be like 60-80 bucks unfortunately.
Depends. You can get lucky with those too. I have a pair of cheap ones that are good for at best half an hour of yard work and one pair of cheap ones that are okay even for wearing as everyday boots
Why not just deshod all women instead? Make them feminine, submissive, out of the workforce, as well as making them more attractive, and forcing mandates to clean up to protect their feet?
Never use saddle soap. Use a hard bristle brush to remove dirt. Use a good oil blend (including beeswax) to oil boots. use hands to rub in, then a soft bristle brush. Two to three applications with an hour wait time in between. Do once a month or so. I also recommend boot dryers when you aren't wearing the boots. Take care of your boots, and they will take care of you!
Nice thing about them is they aren't too hot. I used to dry my boots above the wood burning stove, but the heat was too much and would really dry out the leather. These electric boot dryers work great. Obviously good for the wet season, but I use them year round because your boots get wet just from your sweat in the summer.
I got a pair of used dunlop combat boots and wore them constantly for 14 years (2008-2023) and polished them ONCE in the entire time I had them, and only threw them out because I had to use them for a concrete job.
That's nice. Here's a pair of cheap boots I've had forever. I keep them around for when I have to do something like concrete. Notice the boot on the left is all cracked and dried? That's because I never oiled them. Good luck not taking care of your boots. In that case, you are better off buying cheap ones where the seams will go before the leather does.
Saddle soap will remove natural oils from the leather and dry it out. If you must use it, you have to oil the leather afterward. Otherwise, it will dry and crack.
I always get these rothco tactical boots. For $80 they last around 6-7 years and never let any water in when going through deep puddles.Very comfortable to wear and feel like a sneaker.
tactical boots are so nice. I bought a pair of black and a pair of desert boots. Like $1200 (so around 60 burger certificates) for both. That's all I wear everyday. Except sundays. Sundays I wear black shoes.
That are the ones that already once felt the boot, they are like dogs, once they made acquaintance with a work boot, they instinctively put the tail between their legs

Nobody is spending 1K on a work boot that's insane. The most expensive work boot if worn on a daily basis doing labor will fall apart after X amount of months.
Meh, I paid 180 for mine and they've barely got a dent in them thus far, then again I don't work every day on sites like wagies do, just when I feel like being a man
i had an old buddy from high school i used to keep up with for years, but not much anymore. he works for some forestry dept in california and just fells trees all day. two pairs of socks each day and a new pair of like $400 boots every 3-6 months. he was like the leanest most vascular dude i ever met. no idea how he could do that job for years
Not if they are good quality. My first pair of Meindl survived for 10 years, the sole disappeared, the second pair is now 3 years old and the cheap one here
Depends. You can get lucky with those too. I have a pair of cheap ones that are good for at best half an hour of yard work and one pair of cheap ones that are okay even for wearing as everyday boots
boots havent been made with "steel toes" in some time, but the old term has stuck around for some reason. generally speaking, the term is "safety shoe" or "safety boot". they have a hard composite plastic-type material instead of metal.
If something falls on your toes able to guillotine your toes with the steel noes, without steel nose you would have no foot eitherway.
Its better to wear steel nose boots in 99% of the situation. Some homosexual drives over your foot with the forklift, no shit given. A metric ton falls on your foot, no shit given
If it can crush the steel cap and cut off your toes your foot would have been crushed to a bloody pulp regardless. I don’t know exactly how strong they are but steel cap itself is quite thick and in an arch shape - a car driving over it wouldn’t hurt you at all.
> screw the marxists by purchasing overpriced imported boots
If you want good boots buy the berry amendment shoes, they are 100% us made for the government. Belleville makes some good us made berry boots these days for around $200.
Also in case anyone was wondering the US made new balances (the 990's) cost only around $60-80 to make but sell for $200. They are really great and it feels warm and fuzzy to support the factories workers but I wish the public could buy the military model that costs only $80 much closer to the cost of production.
For business shoes I like the factory second us made loafers from Allen edmonds, since they're half as much as they normally are.
My problem is I grew up wearing Top Siders and no socks and now I can't wear anything with cushioning or my feet cramp, not even thick socks. Red Wing footbed is leather over cork, molds to your foot and isn't that god awful "memory foam" they shove in everything today.
Insecure manlets love to wear big boy tough guy boots to make themselves feel valid. But in reality they look like a sperg and women laugh behind their backs.

I've had issues with my left foot for years and tried everything. The only thing to fix it was White's with their insane arch support. This board is too poor to know what a good pair of boots feels like when it's broken in though.
These aren't made here, AFAIK the only sock fabric mill is wigwam's and they don't sell to the competition.
Wigwam also have the highest percentage of actual merino wool, most of these other socks are plastic.
FTC standard says all or virtually all materials have to be us made or they must state otherwise that's why so many of these companies have "made in usa of us and imported materials" or something like that.
Operating a fabric mill or tannery is very complex and there aren't many left, so its important to make sure your "us made" products use actual us materials and aren't just assembled here.

How do you guys drive with boots? I got some timberlands but I cant feel the gas pedal like I usually do with my regular shoes. So it's messing up my tactile feedback of if Im pressing the gas or the brake.
depends on the boots. i have a pair of logger boots, and a pair of construction boots.
the construction ones are overbuilt with a steel toe and a shank for support on the arch if you are digging holes or climbing ladders all day.
the loggers you can get use to easily, they are built to walk around the woods and are easier to wear than construction ones.
It grows on you. I drive a manual and it was hell to switch gears for the first month then you just kind of mentally assume the pressure will be there. >So it's messing up my tactile feedback of if Im pressing the gas or the brake.

I went yesterday to an antifa bar, provoked two college marxist that took the bait and went with me around the corner and ended bleeding from the head laying on the floor.
Cops are severely understaffed and they hate the college marxist as much as everyone else
Cool story bro
Look, I felt like beating up marxists yesterday after those homosexuals tried to counter protest a book presentation, so I went out in the evening and beat up marxists.
Post wrist.

A garotte made of shoelaces? Not a bad suggestion. I'll take it into consideration.

Nobody is spending 1K on a work boot that's insane. The most expensive work boot if worn on a daily basis doing labor will fall apart after X amount of months.
Meh, I paid 180 for mine and they've barely got a dent in them thus far, then again I don't work every day on sites like wagies do, just when I feel like being a man
Yeah 180-200 is like your upper end. 1k is Ludacris I don't care how rich you are.
i had an old buddy from high school i used to keep up with for years, but not much anymore. he works for some forestry dept in california and just fells trees all day. two pairs of socks each day and a new pair of like $400 boots every 3-6 months. he was like the leanest most vascular dude i ever met. no idea how he could do that job for years
You'd be surprised at how many lean guys fall trees and lug around heavy chain all day.
Not if they are good quality. My first pair of Meindl survived for 10 years, the sole disappeared, the second pair is now 3 years old and the cheap one here
is 5 years old
I've never had German-Austrian boots..they are probably an exception because you have people who have been making boots for centuries as a profession
I really can just recommend Meindls, you buy one pair every 10 year.
You're supposed to resole them, silly.
Get on my level, chuds
Step up to my level newfag
Bastards recalled the boots. I was going to buy a pair, no matter the cost.
I was told some workers don't use steel toe because it will cut your toe off if heavy weights fall on them
boots havent been made with "steel toes" in some time, but the old term has stuck around for some reason. generally speaking, the term is "safety shoe" or "safety boot". they have a hard composite plastic-type material instead of metal.
Not true. They have steel toe or composite toe available. Composite is not advertised as steel.
If something falls on your toes able to guillotine your toes with the steel noes, without steel nose you would have no foot eitherway.
Its better to wear steel nose boots in 99% of the situation. Some homosexual drives over your foot with the forklift, no shit given. A metric ton falls on your foot, no shit given
And most important, kick a marxist in the face, no shit given
If it can crush the steel cap and cut off your toes your foot would have been crushed to a bloody pulp regardless. I don’t know exactly how strong they are but steel cap itself is quite thick and in an arch shape - a car driving over it wouldn’t hurt you at all.
>buy these overpriced boots to screw the Marxists and israeli boot company owmers
All the tradies where I'm from wear moc toe Danners.
> screw the marxists by purchasing overpriced imported boots
The image was just randomly chosen. If the brand you mentioned produce for the military, I don't doubt that they are quality products
Post wrist.
What the fuck do you want with my wrist?
It's tiiime.
Your wrist will prove if you are honest.
Insecure manlets love to wear big boy tough guy boots to make themselves feel valid. But in reality they look like a sperg and women laugh behind their backs.
>Marxist tries shaming tactics
nagger, that tactic only works on marxist, Muslims and women - not on self confident men
>-T overweight desk jockey in flip flops seething behind his keyboard.
Men still work for a living and need good boots, homosexual.
Imagine making mediocre wages in the world's most dangerous profession. Dying under a tree in your 20s and leaving your children fatherless.
You jealous?
homosexual lives a life of comfort and safety. Still dies. lmao
I work from home nigga. No, I'm not jealous of some poor sucker risking life and limb outdoors for small wages.
>He lives in a cubicle
Ahahaha
I think you're a little bit jelly, ngl. Home sounds pretty safe, though. Be careful going outside!
Going outside is extremely hazardous for you in a country with 60,000,000 naggers. naggers with cars and guns.

- population of Latvia
• 2022 estimate: 1,842,226
• population density 29.6/km2
now it all makes sense
Latvian friend, you do realize that your country is the size of one of our state's counties? I live in the woods. No naggers here; they are afraid of lizards. Avoiding naggers is easy. Just don't live around them.
Latvia is such a pathetic country that Canada has to be responsible for defending it from Russia, kek

The Swedish solution.
Stoic presence, and logic.
Doesn't work with brainwashed fanatics, they just understand kicks to the head
Your wrist is acceptable. Cheers.
>DAS RITE
They give you immunity
For me, it's White's.
I've had issues with my left foot for years and tried everything. The only thing to fix it was White's with their insane arch support. This board is too poor to know what a good pair of boots feels like when it's broken in though.
Gayest shit I've seen all day. Might as well wear high heels
oh la la
I like steal toe doc martens more
While your at it, get good socks. These are excellent, USA made, and will be replaced if they ever wear out.

*you're
That's actually a fair price for Merino wool socks
These aren't made here, AFAIK the only sock fabric mill is wigwam's and they don't sell to the competition.
Wigwam also have the highest percentage of actual merino wool, most of these other socks are plastic.
FTC standard says all or virtually all materials have to be us made or they must state otherwise that's why so many of these companies have "made in usa of us and imported materials" or something like that.
Operating a fabric mill or tannery is very complex and there aren't many left, so its important to make sure your "us made" products use actual us materials and aren't just assembled here.
Made in Spain merino socks cost about 20 USD in Europe.

There's much longer variant for 23 eur

American posting stylish Mullatto with an attached earlobe thinking its some kind of fucking fashion flex. He's literally you right? The memes write themselves yet again.
How do you guys drive with boots? I got some timberlands but I cant feel the gas pedal like I usually do with my regular shoes. So it's messing up my tactile feedback of if Im pressing the gas or the brake.
simple as
Like a ything else, you get used to it. But I also drive with both foots so I don't have to worry about switching pedals
>But I also drive with both foots so I don't have to worry about switching pedals
nigga what
I think he left foot brakes.
>not driving with both feets
ishygddt
depends on the boots. i have a pair of logger boots, and a pair of construction boots.
the construction ones are overbuilt with a steel toe and a shank for support on the arch if you are digging holes or climbing ladders all day.
the loggers you can get use to easily, they are built to walk around the woods and are easier to wear than construction ones.
It grows on you. I drive a manual and it was hell to switch gears for the first month then you just kind of mentally assume the pressure will be there.
>So it's messing up my tactile feedback of if Im pressing the gas or the brake.
You can't physically feel your foot going to the left or right?
pedals are too close. it's a small car.
>I drive a manual and it was hell to switch gears for the first month
the most American thing ever said lol
give him a job
watch him forget his bullshit
Not real pleased with Irish setters. I make it a point not to kick shit.
Thursday boots are pretty good.
Belleville boots
The problem with most boots (hell, most shoes) is they crowd the toes. US army seems to do so slightly less but I want more room
If you have unnaturally broad feet, you can always get yourself custom made shoes and boots. I suppose you have cobblers in the US too.
I don't have broad feet, quite the opposite. I just don't have hammer toe like 99% of the western population
I'm in this boat but bigshoes.com out of Texas usually can supply something,I need size 18 and 5xW/6xW. They were even able to source me some steel toed boots
the more toes move in your boot, the more uncomfortable your feet will feel. keep it tight and avoid blisters and bruises
Doesn't apply to toes. I've only gotten blisters around my heel
okay. thats wrong
Your boots don't fit.
i dunno man, you can google the phrase "how do blisters form in boots" and get an answer. just understand the ergonomics of walking. i'm not gonna tell you, an adult, how to wear boots. your father should have explained it. tighten your laces
Yes, a lace lock at the top of the eyelets to assist in maintaining heel position. What the fuck does that have to do with your stupid takes on toe space?
yeah man, dont sweat it, you got it correct. keep your boots as loose as possible for maximum comfort. try cutting a hole in the toe section for breathability too. you got this, son.
I already assumed you were retarded. Please leave my fragile doubt of my assessment alone.
3 options
>no space for toes
Crushes your toes into a deformed state.
>not enough space for toes
This is where rubbing and blisters happen.
>enough space for toes
Can move toes to required extension within the boots unimpeded.
Tell us again which is the correct course? Is it maximizing engagement with the boot via the natural actions of the foot, or cutting off all ability to use the foot as intended?
