I live in Indiana which is a conservative state
You live in the asscrack of America. Literally no one cares about Indiana.
The actual reason is density, I can't believe you all failed this hard. Also calories.
Mods have joined homosexualry.
it's more about development and the equator, Chile Argentina and Uruguay are also more progressive than the rest of sudacas
South becomes North below the equator, same logic applies
>harsher environments farther from the equator necessitate putting aside differences to cooperate and resource distribution for survival
>easy living nearer the equator leads to large populations that require rigid social structures to manage
this is all after density and rainfall are taken into account of course
A simpler answer is that people near the equator come into contract with people of color more often, which makes them conservative. Most black Americans live in the south, and Meds come into contact with with North Africans more than Nords do, given its proximity to the region.
That makes literally zero sense, the real reason is density.

South Africa is the reverse: Cape Town and what is now the Western Cape generally has always been the most socially liberal, while what was the Transvaal had a reputation for social conservativism.
The reason for this is obvious: the Cape was for over a hundred years was the most prosperous and developed part of the country, but it also had a pleasant climate, as a seaport was literally open to the world, and had a cosmopolitan, multiracial population descended from Africans, Asians, and Europeans. It was also more secure and firmly established than white settlement anywhere else (and arguably still is) meaning that the sort of racial paranoia and insecurity over personal safety that has been the norm in many other parts has often been less in evidence.
The Cape frontier as well as the Transvaal and more northerly parts of the country have had a very different social climate. They often had been established by Boers wanting to leave British rule behind, whites were often if not usually very thin on the ground, and various frontier wars often left whites anxious and more inclined towards the uhh, more traditional and conservative perspective in South African terms with regard to race issues.
Because the reason is density/urbanization. All the replies are mentally retarded. All the rest of the thread will be retarded.
It reverses below the equator, obviously.
Japan had healthcare before europe. The reason is density. All replies below are mentally retarded.
Houston is dense, Maine is sparse
Most of maine population is in one small area and the sparse parts lend more conservative
No it didn't

Retarded burgerism OP.
The UK in general seems liberal but solidly so. I don’t think the Scottish are that much more left leaning than the rest of the island, but I could be wrong. Meanwhile Ireland has been playing catch up with the rest of Europe and seems to be leaning left no matter if you’re in NI or the republic so I don’t see how the rule applies
