What happened? Why couldn't people just stop eating as soon as their waist went over 33"?

What's happens in Colorado? Why is it the only State in which people show some degree of restraint?

Fat people can't exist at high altitudes. The pressure of all the fat on their lungs combined with the lower oxygen in a bad combination.

Colorado didn't start growing until after the air force was created in the late 40s and set up their headquarters there in the 50s. Because of this, it's still white people in the north and non-immigrant mexicans in the south. There's no black people, there's no /misc/, and the rugged, cold and unforgiving mountain terrain has always forced people to exercise more if they want to walk. It's like living in San Francisco or Seattle, in most of Colorado getting a beer means walking uphill both ways for a mile in the snow. Meanwhile Denver is full of liberals, hippies and other weird people who diet and don't drink soda.

Most Amerimutts believe the government when it tells they must consoom 2000 calories a day or whatever. They think having a 28-30 inch waist and sticking to a <1500 calorie diet makes you a proana with a mental disorder.

A lot of this is because eating habits are stuck in the 19th century, a lot of Americans are still LARPing as manly lumberjacks or farmbois or something when they need to accept that they're pencil-pushing nancyboys who ought to eat accordingly.

Unless you regularly sweat A LOT at your job, you don't need all that steak and potatoes or whatever let alone mountains of burgers and fried chicken etc.

People don't get obese on steak and potatoes, the biggest problem is empty calories in fast food, potato chips and sodas.

I'd be actually fricking impressed if someone became obese or even overweight eating just steak and potatoes (boiled with minimal butter/cheese, and minimal sauce on steak, no cheating)

those maps are probably wrong. There's no way the highest obesity rate by state is only 35%. I'd wager good money that at least one in two Americans is obese. If we're talking about overweight percentages, then at least 80-95% of all Americans are overweight.

      It's 66% overweight/obese.

Hardly. Obese and overweight are not the same thing. They should not be confused.

I think its like 75% overweight/obese and obesity is in the mid to high 40s the last time I checked

I’m sad for my American bros and as someone coming from Europe it’s actually surreal how many people in the US are overweight. Even in big cities, where you would expect to see less obesity since there’s generally higher income and more food options. I was in GA not long ago and I saw people eating Chick Fil A at 9 am. Not just one, a lot of people, and no not just blacks. Y’all eating fast food for breakfast and then wonder “Geez How did ai get so fat?”

Cities have a toon of poor people and are much more expensive to live in, not to mention people are lazy as hell and they grow up eating junk so thats just what they continue to do. Fast food has killed this country, it's not even cheap anymore and I have no idea how people can live off that crap

It's easier to get fast food than to buy an entire kitchen and spend an hour everyday cooking food. When you have a 13 hour shift mixing chemicals together or building cars you only have maybe an hour or two per day to yourself. 15 minutes at chick-fil-a is easier to justify than watching water boil. When my local McDonalds opens at 5 am, there's already a line of 6+ cars in the drive through extending out to the street, all workers getting food before they go to work.

Related issue: average Americlap commute is 45 minutes which means half the country has commutes above 1 hour. If you're already spending 2-3 hours per day in your car, a drive-through is cheaper than cooking because you don't waste time

CFA actually has one of the best options for breakfast, the egg white griller. I'll get one of those for breakfast at work if I don't pack a lunch, but I work 12 hour shifts so knowing good calorie/macro fast food options is pretty vital.

same but unfortunately the CFA near me went 100% doordash before 3pm so if I want breakfast I have to park and walk in. I usually get a couple egg mcmuffins and a large (american large, so 62oz/1L) orange drank instead. Europeans are just mad they can't afford to have mcdonalds twice a day and eat it while they're driving.
