The French Reaction was the purest reactionary movement in history.

Imagine, for thousands of years, that most political disputes are between aristocrats and lords. They never fight for gay ideological bullshit but to increase their own land, power, whatever. Also, due to the aristocratic warrior ethos, they fight mostly among themselves.

Then suddenly after thousands of years of this status quo, shit just changes in the 1790s. You have people fighting for moronic shit like "ideology." They are using conscription to make masses of commoners fight for them while they jerk off in Paris because everyone is part of the "nation." People are burning down churches and attacking a religion that for thousands of years war considered the truth and telling people to worship bullshit like reason and logic.

Now imagine the reactionist in this time period. Their fathers, grandfathers, and grandfather's grandfathers, have never seen anything like this. There is no precedent they can look at in the history books to make sense of it all. To these men, it must have been pure and utter satanism. Perhaps some even thought it was the end of the world?

That is why it is the most pure. Because the men fighting against it hadn't been beaten down by centuries of poz. It was an entirely new phenomenon to them. They truly believed they were fighting against demons from hell and defending their pure aristocratic societies from satan himself. Presently, we fight to preserve societies that have already been corrupted by pozzed leftism for centuries. It isn't the same at all as fighting for a society that existed in a pure state of Catholicism and traditionalism for thousands of years.

They are the originators of poz. Equalité, nonsensesité, homosexualité!
Does a massacre in France and then immediately launches a war on all Europe to pushing those moronic ideals.
Look at France now(and the rest of the west), cant say God isnt punishing them.

I agree. 19th century reactionary movements like the Confederacy are generally quite based because they were a small group of aristocrats, clergymen, and peasants defending an ancient ideal and society. 20th century ones are pretty cringe because they are usually masses of petty bourgeoisie defending a nation/ideal/society that was created by liberal greater bourgeoisie during the 19th century from communists. The only exception to this is integralists and Francoists.

Lmao, it wasn't the Middle Ages, and most of them weren't as unhinged in their christLAPRing. Those very Frenchies had been fighting on the side of American revolutionaries just a few years before. They knew enough about reason and logic.

Ultraroyalists had the best thinkers at least.
Marwitz was right. Submission of the feudal lords under a centralised king was their biggest mistake ever.
Their own fault though as they sided with the king against the huguenotts.

If your society falls to a revolution to begin with it means something was already very wrong, the Vendeechads were the main ones putting up a fight.

18th century society, especially the french one, wasnt pure thought

Since the early 1700s the enlightenment idea has sparked across the country. Atheism and lack of religious practice was on the rise in the easrtern half of France since the 1650s. Stuff like divorce, end of privilegia and a strong parliament were not new demand.

How do you explain these very aristocrats you simp for being some of the primary pushers of leftism and liberalism? When was the last time there was a “based absolutist king” in the west who didn’t immediately give power to the Left like they did in Spain after Franco died?

A leftoid actually talks about this newness in The Reactionary Mind book. He concluded that so-called reactionary forces do often go out and steal/incorporate the tactics of revolutionary forces. Also details at length how various reactionaries in the past actually showed admiration for revolutionary passion and zealotry and developed a sort of contempt for their fellow Aristocrats that were too passive or accomodating
