Are the screensavers, like 3D maze and pipes, working on your machine?
I remember them crashing constantly on my system until I downgraded the driver to 70.something.

Not sure about pipes but 3D maze works for me, I use flying through space though personally

Maybe 3D maze worked on my machine, but the other 3D screensavers definetly didn't.
The Geforce 4 drivers were somehow fricked on Win 98. I used the exact same GPU btw.

Mines an SE but I can overclock to stock settings so it might aswell be a 4800, honestly back then ti 4400 was a killer deal consider 9/10 times you could overclock to the stock clocks of the 4600 , honestly it was a great deal back then

Did I travel back to the year 2000?

I might redo the test with forceware 45 drivers, the 81 drivers might be too much for a 3ghz pentium 4 to keep up with and the 400 mhz adds just enough leeway to get through

That's a sick build OP. If I had that I'd be fragging noobs left and right in Quake all day.

I tried playing vtmb on it but despite the sys req being "386mb of ram" it eats up all 512, I have the max ram patch installed so I can use 4gbs but programs that require a disc to run wont work properly

Eh not really, youd really want to go with a FX refresh i.e 5900 5950 or go with 6 series cards

I played doom3 at 15 fps on low back in the day and was ecstatic.

I beat ds1 at 12 fps on an A6-7310 with r4 graphics, I was away for work when I heard about darksouls through the DS3 trailer so I wanted to check the series out but the only pc I had with me att was an all in one with the aforementioned specs, at 12 fps I managed to beat the entire game and I got GOOD at it

That's how the machine came. Was thinking of replacing it with something older and higher end, but it should be fine for what I'm interested in.
