The current baggy jeans that are popular just… don’t look good
seems like a massive overcorrection from the era of gay skinny jeans. The perfect middle ground is just slightly baggy straight cut jeans

people were wearing this shit before you were born, it looked dumb then and it looks dumb now
      >t. used to wear jeans with a 26" wide hem opening

I stopped wearing ridiculously baggy shit when I was like 15 or 16, relaxed fit is baggy enough. Do what you want but stop acting like GenX and Millennials didn’t wear this as well.

You’re just jealous you can’t wear it now because you’d look stupid because of your age.

as a fellow zoomer i gotta say these are super braindead takes, older gens definitely rocked baggy clothes like we are nowhere near the progenitors of that look to be casting such shade on the OGs

the problem with zoomer baggy pants is that they are made of dirt cheap lightweight material and blow in the wind like parachutes, it’s hilarious to watch

i have some vintage lee pipes that are made of actual heavy denim, as well as some some vintage baggy cargoes that are made of heavy twill. they look literally nothing like cheapo zoomer flappy pants.

Straight leg is the pefect middle ground, and I mean actual straight cut legs, not the shitty tapered jeans that 90% of "straight leg" jeans are.

levis hecked up their straight cut jeans’ shape over the years to appease the ever-fattening-and-negrifying average american. its half the reason people pay so much for vintage levis and 100% of the reason why people still buy non selvedge/non made in usa vintage levis from later decades after the quality went down but the cut was still good.
wrangler stayed the same the only real quality drops and major changes over the years were moving construction overseas (its still us cotton) and replacing the leather patch with plastic like a year ago (why god why, but they look fine with it cut off)

There is nothing wrong with a slight taper. Truly straight leg/relaxed fit/ whatever you want to call it only look good if you’ve got tree trunk construction worker legs. Otherwise you just look emaciated. My Wranglers for example, only look half way decent on me after I’ve washed them so much that all the shrink has come out of them. But then the waist is so tight they’re uncomfortable af.

They’re actually cropping longer shirts to the beltline as well. Saw some guy on IG cropping a sweatshirt and he got all pissy in the comments when people started making fun of the fit.

this is true now that I think about it

although depending on the cut of the pants i’ve seen some small shirt big pants fits that actually looked kinda cool (basically only on women tho), but that’s not the norm

i see a lot of them in wifebeater tanks and cargo pants, its the current nyc broccoli heckboy outfit. the ones wearing tshirts are just uglies who cant pull off a wifebeater.

I bought pic related 2 or 3 years ago on 70% discount and posted them here and was told they would go with nothing and they were on sale for a reason. They’ve become my most worn jeans and they go with most things in my wardrobe. Relaxed straight leg fit without being zoomzoom baggy jeans which look horrible.

It looks like shit because the cut of his jeans is horrible, they don’t stack properly at the shoe, and he’s wearing them too high when they should be below the waist. Also he’s fat.

this is the real reason zoomers wear the big pants, especially the girls

ive composed a handy mspaint illusrtation of how the zoomer girl "y2k" big pants look differs from the actual early-00s big pants look

the main difference is that early-00s big paints had a low rise waist, aka "shakira cut", while the big pants zoomers are wearing have high waists like momjeans. (they need it to cover their fat gunches, but they spill out the top anyway.)

note that the zoomer pants go up over the belly button, this is very consistent with them
