Thanks Mozilla. I'm finally ready to switch to Chrome.

You should have switched to Chrome 10 years ago
ten years ago LULZ was telling people to get off chrome cause it's a botnet
that was when people who actually liked tech still browsed here. now it's flooded with shitskins that will say any-fucking-thing for replies and will waste their lives arguing with you over it
Read these posts thinking about 2010, but then remembered that 10 years ago was 2013.
>I'm finally ready to switch to Chrome.
where the fuck have you been? seriously? no one even uses firefox anymore. use brave, or literally ANYTHING else that is chromium except vivaldi, opera, or chrome, those are closed source spyware.
ok brave shill
>brave shill
yeah, brave is better than firefox, your point? but i also mentioned other browsers. notice how you didn't call me a shill for those? hmmmmmmm, really makes you think. you fucking KEKOLD
This isn't an issue with non-retarded OS. You can also disable automatic updates.
Not (OP)
I don't have this option.
Do I need a special version of firefox to get this option back?
I used to have it.
I haven't been able to find any information online regarding it.
Yeah install the snap version then it will only update at a time when you aren't running firefox.
>leaving automatic updates on for anything
it's like you're asking for something to break.
This is an issue because???
>use an app in a normal common way
>at some random point in time you can't just use it in a normal common way, you have to stop, restart, and likely lose some data
Because shit that suddenly breaks on purpose is retarded.
Just run the update command after turning on the computer and before turning off, nagger
>I use Windows
Everytime i've used Windows, Firefox had autoupdates off, to the point i had to go out of my way to update it since my uni was consistently 5 versions behind everytime i used it
>turning off
What are you talking about? Only retards need to regularly turn their computers on and off.
I want to keep my browser open as long as _I_ choose to. Brave has no problems with that, only crappy browsers misbehave.
Got it, you're a retard, should've stated it earlier so you didn't waste my time
>he wastes time turning his computer off and on
Grim
I accept your concession
you're retarded
And you're a nagger that doesn't understand the concept of not wasting electricity
sleep mode
Sleep mode still uses electricity, are you that much of a poorfag that you can't afford an ssd to have sub 60 second boot times?
you do know that clicking "shut down" on windows 10 or 11 puts it into sleep mode right
I don't use LULZermin OSes, i have a Mac for work and run Artix on my hobby computers
kek
now I know you're tolling, thanks for falling for the bait
I accept your concession
You know you can disable that, right? Right???
You're calling him poor because he doesn't care about saving a few pennies on electricity?
I could buy a nice steak every day and dump it in the trash without it affecting my finances in a meaningful way, i don't do it because even if i can, it's wasteful.
you do realize chrome is even stricter in forcing you to upgrade? what am i saying, ofc you don't, you're a /misc/troon addicted to console warring between tech companies
nah you dont use chrome. Chrome won't force an upgrade while you're using it. It happens either during startup or shutdown - if you have disable background service.
and you can disable updates altogether in firefox, so we're all arguing in another dogshit homosexual bait thread made by a seamonkey
Eventually the update notifications become more aggressively. I wouldnt be surprised if they restart (when not in use) after a week.
Switch to Edge, it's for us adults who actually have careers and get laid.
cringe
>uncheck "apply updates automatically" in the installer
>uncheck "install a mozilla service to download and install updates in the background" in the installer
Skill issue
>makes decision of things he use based on minor inconveniences.
>nerd_emoji.jpg
>minor
I get you cum guzzling homosexuals got used to being raped by devs from California on a daily basis, but since when breaking your workflow and losing data is minor? Oh wait, people can't have respect for themselves anymore. We must endure because, like, when they, like, force you to do extra unnecessary steps, it is, like, freedom.
Works on my machine. Updates are via my package manager instead of being scattered across individual applications
It's the opposite, the package manager is the problem.
If the package manager changes Firefox's files while it's running, then Firefox has no choice but to force a restart.
Just, don't update your system while you use firefox?
What are you even trying to say now, nagger?
The point is that using a package manager is not a "fix", it's actually the only reason the problem can appear.
snapd will wait until you close Firefox/restart to perform the update you absolute gorilla
not him, but I think the problem can also appear if you don't disable the internal updooter, which might be a Windows-only thing
Just let it update.
op is a fag
Not turning off automatic updates is a mistake a child would make. Are you perhaps a child?
Based. We believe that Firefox is the best browser, it’s the one from Linux and it allows for a little more ricing. Chrome is globohomo and steals your data. Why don’t you have auto updates disabled? Literally everyone disables auto updates on new software. You don’t go through menus the moment you install something? Anyway, still using Firefox.
That’s a wrap boys, I think this one’s done.

>crying about having your 70 porn tabs from the past 6 months closed and removed
So this is the true power of porn addiction...
😀
I switched to safari!
Hello cia glownagger
why does firefox update so often with no changes?
Chrome and Brave are the only real choices.
Are you implying you don’t ever restart? Does windows even wipe its own cache without a restart? I thought it didn’t.
Nice thing about using nix is no matter how hard an application tries to modify itself it aint fuckin happening
works on my machine
I don't like chromium but firefox has been a pain in the ass for years now. Unusable and gay.
Enjoy being spied to.

If only the updates made firefox function faster.
