I eventually walked out halfway through an appointment. It became clear that I was wasting my time.

Well they are, in every objective way, on a broad scale. But I guess that isn't a very helpful thing for a therapist to point out, because it doesn't address whatever problems you're having right now

I don’t know how on earth you actually believe this.

Why don't you? All the controversy and turmoil that's happening right now is because trans rights are expanding and trans people are taking a place in the mainstream. Progress is and always has been a messy business, but this is progress

I really don’t know what to even say. You’re completely delusional.

I think I'm probably just older than you and looking at things in a larger scale. I don't mean that in a condescending way, just honestly I remember what it was like a little over a decade ago when nobody understood anything about trans people, and the idea of beating the shit out of a girl you picked up at a bar who "turned out to be a man" was like the punchline of a joke that everybody would laugh at without a second thought

The way I see it - there have been massive, massive advancements for trans people over the last ~10 years. Over the last ~2 years or so, there's been serious backlash that has been challenging those advancements. So in the micro scale, yeah, things are hairier now than they were 4 years ago. But nothing has rolled anywhere near as far back as it was a decade ago.

This is how things change. It's not easy, people get upset and fight about it, it's usually two steps forward, one step back. Right now we're in a one step back moment. But if you pull back and look at the bigger picture, the graph is moving in the right direction

It's because you're like 15 years old and don't remember the times before transgenderism was taken seriously.

That's been true, but recent events challenge this. Now trans rights are not only under attack rheotorically, but being brought back in ways that will permamently harm a generation. If you believe this is just a temporary outcry of the right, you are unaware of the perilous political situation.

Instead of a therapist you should wear diapers and hire a professional caretaker. This is not a meme, it's genuine advice. It's the best investment for any trans woman.

Did you get into an argument with your therapist? Did you scream at them? Did they scream at you? Did they cry? How much money down the drain? Was it worth it?

What did they say anon? I do have personal experience that makes me hate most "LGBTQ" therapists because they're inevitably either completely fricking clueless or horrendously incompetent

Just a lot of shit that made it very clear that she wasn’t paying much attention to what is actually going on.

things were starting to get better for trans people. But the amount of hate has risen the past few years and progress starting to reverse

yeaaaaah I've had similar conversations with people

    >"it really sucks that 20% of the population hates me just because I'm trans"
    >"but that means that 80% of the population doesn't hate you! that's good!!!"
it's like yeah okay, but 1/5 people is a lot of fricking people lmao

same thing with my ex therapist who kept insisting that i could only get better by having a job. specifically employment, not like goals or long term labor that leads to fulfillment, just wage slavery. why do i bother trying

It makes sense if you think about it on a long time scale. Things got significantly better since 2010 when trannies were still a joke. Things got worse since 2015 when trannies were starting to gain respect.
