If you want to keep it usable offline you should stop connecting it to the internet within a month, because whatever stupid update they release after xx days until Windows 7 support ends will probably make steam only work on W10+. I know the steam updater always runs before you get to the login window, there'll surely be no warning if an unsupported update comes around, you'll get a message in windows saying this is not a valid w32 program or some such thing.
