Jesus was a israelite lol
He was the last TRUE israelite. Modern israelites are the ones who reject christ. Jesus is of abrahams lineage, modern israelites are not.

Christianity is true, but it's popular cults peddled to the masses are as devoid of spirituality as the earlier pagan religions. You can find enlightenment through Christianity, the Orthodox wrote a good deal of texts, but it's way easier to find it in Buddhism.
Orthodox theology doesn't make sense because it highlights man's free cooperation over God's moving in the man, but they cope by either reciting long winded word salad that goes nowhere, or by saying you can't understand because you don't have the Holy Spirit
I'm not speaking about theological speculation, but about mysticism. Check out the Philokalia, the teachings of the Hesychasm have a lot in common with Theravada buddhism if you can overlook the massive emphasis on demons and self-mortification.
Buddhism is a false religion. Mara is the same as the devil, the "morningstar" that enlightened Buddha was also the devil, it's a common name for him. Buddhism is a deception and a massive lie. It has some truth but mostly lies. Same with Islam and Hinduism. Little truths with massive lies sprinkled throughout. Christ is Lord
Christianity is a false religion, no one will ever take a loser god seriously
https://religions.wiki/index.php/Jehovah_defeated_by_Chemosh
I farted when thinking about God
If he was real would he allow me to fart while thinking about him?
Divine comedy, god is a self conscious fart cloud blown at the ass of a hikineet 4chin usar
Does God wanna huff my farts?
I just don't care, it might be true, a magical israelite from 2000 years ago may indeed be the son of God. It just makes no difference to me
I'm sure if I get some kind of revelation id believe, but alas it has not happened yet
don't you think the fate of your eternal soul is one of the most interesting things you could have a stake in though
how can you have the ego to say "an omnipotent God might be real but I have better morals than him"
isn't is possible for him to have reasons beyond our understanding
>because extraordinary claims required extraordinary evidence to justify their beliefs.
what if there was a lot of ordinary good evidence for something extraordinary instead
how could anything happen outside of God's will? isn't that a prerequisite to being all powerful
>how could anything happen outside of God's will?
Using God's will as a crutch removes any kind of responsibility you have. You can use it to justify anything, and americans do this a lot. How many times have I seen american "Christians" being the worst kinds of degenerates? Drugs, porn, grooming, weird fucking denominations etc. And everytime I point that out to them, they tell me it's "between me and God" and "God's will". Every fucking time. "Noooo you can't criticize me, it's not my fault!". But then they turn around and call ME a degenerate when I say something they don't like. What kind of hypocrisy is this?
Also, just look at pic rel. What the fuck is this? What the fuck is wrong with protestants?
>isn't is possible for him to have reasons beyond our understanding
yeah actually you're right, he should have resurrected his children and wife so he could kill them for no reason a SECOND time
Christianity is true, but I seriously doubt anyone here knows what Christianity means.
kek nice picrel, why don't you tell us what Christianity means?
No proof of god
I don't know if it's true or not but I do know that what god did to Job was unforgivably immoral
The devil did that, not God
the devil said
>bet you I can get Job to lose faith
god said
>nuh-uh
yeah he had absolutely NO responsibility over what happened, sure
because extraordinary claims required extraordinary evidence to justify their beliefs. I'm going to have any extraordinary evidence that a dead man came back from the dead. or raise other people from the dead. thus, it's not justified to believe in Christianity
I have no problem with Christianity, but oh boy do I have a problem with protestants, especially americans who think that anything that happens to you is the will of God. Oh, you got tortured by a mexican cartel? God wills it! Your daughter got raped? God wills it! God's will is impenetrable! Billionaire israelite fucking you in the ass? God wills it! Do not resist! Just pull yourself by your bootstraps! Fuck that shit. I hate protestants.
It's just a book written by brown people in the bronze age and a cope for emotionally weak people. Sky daddy is never coming to save you.
I have been suffering my entire life
Modern christianity is wrong. Too much focus on Jesus the man and not Jesus the anointed. Christianity is a metaphor legalized by the romans and turned into the literal. Just like the israelites did to their texts.
For example "you cannot see my face, for man shall not see me and live". This is a metaphor. I've seen god before and I did not literally die. God has no single face either. Almost everything in the bible is a metaphor or straight up a lie.
You only saw a representation of his face, that's why you didn't die.
Hell is inherently irrational. Eternal torture makes no sense; why would you torture someone for eternity, and not give them a chance to change? It's only useful as a threat, but it's illogical to carry out. Past that, it's just sadistic.
>inb4 he also gives eternal life
That's irrelevant.
This life is their chance to change
Not tolerating it would mean sending all of us to hell right now
>This life is their chance to change
But for those who don't change, why does God still torment them? Like I said, it's a great threat, but it makes no sense to carry out.
>Not tolerating it would mean sending all of us to hell right now
So why would removing whoever (doesn't specifically have to be a human) made harlequin babies mean killing everyone?
>why does God still torment them
its their choice
the existence of hell doesn't cause me to believe
otherwise I'd believe every religion with some variation of hell
Why do you believe then? I didn't need outdated mythology to help me understand what unconditional love and selflessness were. I'm guessing you're just looking for a higher meaning and your place in the universe. It's okay to say you don't know instead of buying into something you know deep down doesn't vibe with the truth. If it was true there'd be no doubt anon.
>If it was true there'd be no doubt anon
thats not true for anything, or else there'd be no progress
everything is open to correction
I believe because I think the case for Jesus self claims and resurrection are stronger than the claims other religions (or nonreligions) have made against it or in support of their own worldview
>its their choice
So you can just walk out of hell? You're also not even answering my original question. Stop sidestepping and address it.
people need to be held accountable for evil, or else God wouldn't be good
he isn't obliged to offer us salvation.
>people need to be held accountable for evil
So you're telling me smoking pot, masturbating, and saying I don't believe in God is rightfully punishable by eternal torture? Besides, even if it somehow was, you're still avoiding my question: what's the rationality? It's not like punishment would change anything.
>he isn't obliged to offer us salvation
Salvation? Salvation from what, himself?
Yes, because our standard is perfection. It seems unlawful to you because you can't comprehend perfection, the only administrations of law are your fellow humans, whom are all bad at it and hypocrites
>the only administrations of law
that you're familiar with*
Ok, so God is unforgiving. Care to answer the rest of the problems I mentioned?
He forgives more than he is obliged to
you're just ungrateful and entitled
Answer the rest of the problems, coward
I discuss one thing at a time
what was your next question
Since you're too lazy to scroll up, I copied it here
, even if it somehow was, you're still avoiding my question: what's the rationality? It's not like punishment would change anything.
>>he isn't obliged to offer us salvation
Salvation?
Salvation from what, himself?
You can answer them in whichever order you prefer
salvation from the consequences of our freely acted out sins
But he isn't the one offering salvation if it's us who choose to not sin
it isn't possible to choose not to sin outside of God's help
So I can't just use my free will to stop sinning?
You can but you won't
But I thought you said I needed God to do it for me?
You do
you have the physical capacity to do it
but not the will, unless God gives it to you.
>but not the will
Then wtf is *free* will?
whatever you do that is sinful of neutral
if you do anything good then its a unmerited gift from God
its the case for everyone, most people are just too prideful or coddled to admit it.
here let me do my impression of someone who's religiosity is fundamentally predicated on double binds
>"Erm uhhhh if you do a bad thing that means you're bad but if you do a good thing that means uhhhhh god is good and you should believe in him, also believe in him if you do bad things so you can be saved"
fyi religious leaders cultivated this thought process because it works on stupid people, there are legitimate reasons to be religious if you're smart, but le double bind isn't one of them
this isn't an argument for belief in God, I'm just answering anons initial question
how we feel about doctrine has no merit on whether its true or not
>I'm just answering anons initial question
okay your answer is shit
>how we feel about doctrine has no merit on whether its true or not
your interpretation is important moron, you really want to tell me that every christian scholar has had the same interpretation of the bible throughout history?
>your interpretation is important moron, you really want to tell me that every christian scholar has had the same interpretation of the bible throughout history?
you can run another one by me that you think makes more sense if you want
>if you fail it's because you are weak
>if you succeed it's because god helped you
imagine operating in such an oppressive moral framework, you are literally HELPLESS; you can't even wipe your ass unless god gives you the will to clean yourself
I'm not christian but I know that there are far less retarded interpretations of free will from other Christian sects
anon everyman is a sinner due to adams choice.
if your born and only live with your eyes closed for 2 days and die then your going to hell due to being born a sinner. its not free will to sin. this is not an argument.
according to Christianity the are two paths one is sin and the other is to accept god your free will should be used to accept god.
There's no such thing as good and evil.. at the root of all thoughts and actions there's only selfishness and selflessness. Nobody is perfect and everyone should be forgiven, even the worst of people. I guess I have a higher moral compass than God? You tell me.
>There's no such thing as good and evil.
>Nobody is perfect and everyone should be forgiven, even the worst of people. I guess I have a higher moral compass than God? You tell me.
how can anything be higher or better if there is no good and evil
you're 100% ego driven and need to be humbled
Hell doesn't exist anon. Imagine creating a religion where you have to use fear of eternal damnation for people to take a leap of faith and believe. Anyone who's truly awake can see past that bullshit.
>tell me about [subject] while I heavily restrict your ability to debate
That tells me everything. You do not want to debate or learn--you just want to hear your echo chamber.
Nobody wants to read a lecture
>you just want to hear your echo chamber
then why would I ask specifically for people who disagree with me....................................
Christianity, Islam, and all religions are man made.
Our planet is 4.55 billion years old, yet god chose to reveal his truth 2000 years before the internet was created. His word could have reached people a lot quicker and the so called miracles could have been verified leaving no room for doubt.
If you still believe in religion in 2023, you are a moron. Do not get me wrong I get that religion has some good things, but there is no way it is not made up lmao
>Our planet is 4.55 billion years old, yet god chose to reveal his truth 2000 years before the internet was created. His word could have reached people a lot quicker and the so called miracles could have been verified leaving no room for doubt.
This isn't an argument, its conjecture. There are countless reasons why an omnipotent beings plans wouldn't seem sensible to us finite beings.
God isn't real, naggers and israelites run the world and neither you or your god will do anything but read a old as book about a israelite being thrown on a cross thousands of years ago. Also fucking hypocrites that don't follow what they preach.
Christianity as a whole is too broad, be more specific. Catholic, Protestant, JW, Mormon, ""American""?
It is not that broad at all. Every single one of those believes Jesus is the savior from sin who sits at the right hand of the Father.
I can't disprove the word of word without knowing which one I'm dealing with.
Burden of proof is on you, bro. You want me to believe in a mythical creator deity, I need proof.
>I believe because I think the case for Jesus self claims and resurrection are stronger than the claims other religions (or nonreligions) have made against it or in support of their own worldview
I don't see proof, so I don't believe. Simple as
No evidence to believe it, thus occam's razor applies and you shouldn't believe it. The burden of proof lies on the Christian, not on me.
>Please prove a negative. Can't do it? Guess it must mean it's true!
Because NDEs are actually solid proof of life after death, because anyone can have them if they come close to and survive death. And they are so extremely real to those who have them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U00ibBGZp7o
As this NDEr described their NDE:
>"Now, what heaven looks like? 'OMG' doesn't even describe how beautiful this place is. Heaven is, there are no words. I mean, I could sit here and just not say anything and just cry, and that would be what heaven looks like. There are mountains of beauty, there are things in this realm, you can't even describe how beautiful this place is. There are colors you can't even imagine, there are sounds you can't even create. There are beauties upon this world that you think are beautiful here. Amplify it over there times a billion. There are, it's incredibly beautiful, there's no words to describe how beautiful this place is, it's incredibly gorgeous."
And importantly, even dogmatic skeptics have this reaction, because the NDE convinces everyone:
https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/mysteries-consciousness/202204/does-afterlife-obviously-exist
So anyone would be convinced if they had an NDE, we already know this, no one's skepticism is unique. And the book in pic related is known to convince even hardened skeptics that there is an afterlife.
>muh brain chemistry
Neuroscientists are convinced by NDEs too. What do skeptics think they understand that neuroscientists do not?
>muh DMT causes it
Scientifically refuted already, and NDErs who have done DMT too say that the DMT experience, while alien and really cool and fun, was still underwhelming to the point of being a joke when compared to the NDE.
And religious people become spiritual too after an NDE.
you're moon-landing-is-fake-anon, right?
>Tell me your single best reason why Christianity isn't true.
God doesn't exist.
Something isnt true because you cant disprove it, rather it is true if evidenced in some manner, and all the "evidence" for christianity is equally explained by other hypotheses, not to mention christianity not making specific novel testable predictions and instead having vague prophecies that can be interpreted as events all through history or having not occured. Classic burden shift though
I assume we are talking about Christian creationism, and not morals or whathave you. In which case, I can't prove a negative.
So I will ask you to prove the positive.
Give me evidence for why it is true, evidence that can't be explained by any other religion or nonreligious theory.
If you accept it's real it doesn't make much sense. God wants people to suffer for 80 years to see if they accept Jesus as their savior? That's why everything exists including the rest of the universe which is literally 60,000,000,000,000,000,000 times larger than Earth where God chose to focus on?
Because Pamela Kribbe channeled the real Jesus Christ, I can feel his love through the messages delivered through her. What "Christians" believe in is mostly just a bunch of dogma, fairytales, and lies.
Because there is always an element of some nerdy fag wearing a gay hat and robes asking people to donate money to him BECAUSE REASONS which should be the only red flag you need to tell you that it's a scam and not a genuine philosophical viewpoint.
There may or may not be a god or creator out there,or maybe even multiple, and if there is a god it doesnt mainly focus on this shitsphere we call earth
Christian mysticism is as true as any mysticism, mysticism is a grand unifying truth and points to the same thing in every religion and god is real.
But the sole scriptura Protestants that I know make extremely bold claims about miracles that happen everywhere and perpetually and then jump through hoops to explain why you cant actually walk on water(and move mountains and other things) as you logically should be able to do if what they are saying is true.
>your single best reason why Christianity isn't true
Why would it be? How many magic rabbis with fucking D&D mend-wound spells have you seen in your lifetime? How many magic rabbis intervened to stop 50 million people from dying gruesome deaths during or as a result of World War 2? Use your own eyes and ears and you be the judge of that shit.
All the cool shit's supposed to happen when you're dead and that's way too convenient of a cop-out.
>"Well nobody knows what happens when you die."
Yes we do. You decay and microorganisms (or macro-organisms if a bear gets you) eat you, shit you out, and your cells enter back into the food web like every other organism that ever existed on Earth for the last 2 billion years.
>Yeah but how can you knoooooow-know?
Because why would there be a ghost world? How long has ghost hunters been on the air? 15 years? How many ghosts have they caught? Again, use your own eyes and ears and figure this shit out.
It's a lot nicer to think that this isn't all some big test. Sure, it's a gay quote, but it rang pretty true for me. I like to think that when we die, we'll either return to nothing or be immediately reincarnated. Just enjoy the ride and embrace the absurdity of it all.
