Because they look like shit on DYELs and I think you should only get tattoos if you have some sort of interesting meaning behind getting them like being:
    >in prison
    >in a gang
    >in the military
If you get a tattoo of a bird on your arm and the only reason is because you like birds you are gonna look like a bigger homosexual than you already are

If you know an artist and appreciate their skill, and you are interested in tattoos, i recommend just talking to your artist like a friend, get to know them so they can know you.

Let them create something for you based on what you project. Giving significants to a piece of art that you didn’t create is just as lame imo. The best course for a tattoo is display good art. Small clip arts and tiny pieces amalgamated into a sleeve of ink is ugly and makes you look indecisive or sporadic. Having a single aw inspiring piece has a massive significance and it plays into the body confidence of displaying that piece. If you frame everything as cultural appropriation or cringe you are just limiting your horizon on all fronts. It’s much better to be open minded when it comes to these things because when you alienate a significant population you end up with a smaller pool of role models. Tattoos don’t make you a homosexual or look like a junky if you’re not already a mess. As for a conversation piece, it shouldn’t really be for that. Generally if people ask about a tattoo you should treat it like someone is complimenting your graphic T. You say thank you and move on, dont fucking gurgle out some bullshit about its history. Art is art and people should be more open minded while simultaneously being conservative about the conversation

Tattoos were a taboo thing back in the day and there was a lot of stigma associated with having one, so it took some balls to get one, that offset the innate trashy nature of tattoos into being somewhat cool
tattoos today are as common as it gets, celebs and media have normalized them to the point that the rebellious image of tattoos is completely gone
    it's just pure trash now
the platonic ideal of the tattoo elevates your looks by being a piece of art that complements your body and/or signifies something important in your life
in reality everyone with tattoos falls somewhere inbetween looking just as attractive as they were or being a completely botched freakshow, with the mean being a little trashy, signified by the fact most people cover them up
as for commemorating something significant, maybe there are such things that would warrant (semi)permamently branding on your skin, but i can't really think of one, and the things people tattoo on themselves are for the most part super basic and shallow, bordering on cringe
and the ironically cringe, bad-on-purpose, hipster tats are just that cringe, because ironic cringe is still cringe, even if you pretend it's a joke and you're so above it

It’s a shallow point of view imo. You already shouldn’t give a mind about what others think of you. If you want a tattoo just make sure it’s a high quality piece from a reputable artist and consider that it’s a permanent addition to your body. I just don’t see the stigma from plebs being worth considering. You already think every man and women you pass on the street is mentally inferior, insecure, or crazy, why the fuck would you give a shit about the perception of something you do? As “free thinkers”, LULZ is filled with a lot of over socialized individuals who are straight up shackled to their peers thoughts.

If you want a tattoo, do it, just consider what i mentioned previously. You will meet 100x more people who have something positive to say than negative. Matter of fact, none of you would even have balls (and you really shouldn’t) to tell your friends their ink sucks.
