Talos Principle

Have you played this game? It has an interesting message which I have not seen considered much.

The Talos Principle is the idea, that artificial life or a robot could do all the things humans can do and that therefore, humans are basically machines.

The player is a robot, the player is controlled by a disembodied AI program called EL (short for "extended lifespan). EL is the God of the story, and his full name in the game is Elohim.

Will post some interesting screenshots from ingame, different stuff I have come across.

This is a entry in the game describing something which is becoming more relevant, that of Artificial Intelligence, neural networks and the like being considered citizens.

An entry detailing the Extended Lifespan Technology

There is an entry which is really a chatlog between 2 users. User 1 queries User 2 whether or not it would be possible to discern between bot interaction and human interaction, especially with the recent developments in it's capabilities. (Web crawling, database management, dictionary crawling)

User 2 is doubtful that they would be fooled by a generic chatbot.

The idea is that User 1 is communicating to the user via inputting User 2's responses into an AI Chatbot, and feeding User 2 the AI generated response.

      >I have not seen considered much.
      You should read more.
      Dick, Gibson, Asimov, Bradbury.

I promise you it's much more rewarding that games. The more authors you read the more points of view you see. If you are a newbie then try some manga like GUNNM.

These concepts are trying to answer the question of what is a soul, or if there is one at all. Is it consciousness. Is consciousness real or is it imagined.

There has been even memes about this in modern times.

      Okay.

The ideology of people who haven’t embarked on creative human works like literature, poetry, music. That’s all it takes to say people who think this shit are morons.

this thread has 0 to offer other than two bots with the exact same response as though it meant something, was significant, or carried a conversation that could lead somewhere.

Type something that matters next time boys, don't shit up a perfectly good thread because you have to feel smart.

It is, probably, my favorite videogame. The philosophical elements were not new to me, but their presentation in the overall story was very moving to me.
Naturally, /x/ 'at large' takes a preposterously simplified, strawmanned view of such ponderings- so you are unlikely to get much meaningful discussion done, here.
