Unofficial college dropout, parents don't know yet but will find out soon, I don't know how to tell them and I can't figure out what I want to do in life should I just disappear for good

Move away from your parents. They weigh you down.
In this economy? I'd literally be homeless
In a situation where I'm not allowed to take a semester off should I join the military instead or just kill myself?
What do you mean, you’re not allowed to just take a semester off? You can always go back to school. If the same place doesn’t want you back for whatever reason, you can go to community college and do a guaranteed transfer to a state school.
>In this economy?
You'll become more productive and better capable of generating an income after distancing yourself from them. Parents become a drain on our mental health after we're 18 no matter how much we love them or they love us.
Lmao, imagine having such shit parents you project it onto everybody else. Hispanic culture shows what you're saying is utter BS, literally every big family I know supports their kids until they're financially stable and they all love each other.
Take a semester off. Get a food service or retail job. Dedicate your time to working as much as possible and exercising on your days off. Go back to school next semester. If you don’t know what you want to do, do your gen ed at community college first. Don’t let this be the decision that pulls you into a cesspool.
why did you drop out? What year were you in?
I dropped out spring semester 2023, I couldn't care for anything it's literally just high school but now you pay for it, hyped up since elementary school and it's so boring
what were you studying? Maybe you were just doing the wrong thing.
I was doing legal studies, it's no surprise if a major had studies in the name its gonna be shit but I didn't know that at first.
Knowing my parents I can't see them letting me quit school because of how much they and the job market values a college education
So you haven’t quit school yet? I can’t figure out what you’re asking, then. Stay the fuck in school. It’s not just “muh parents and society” - having an actual degree is so fucking beyond helpful in making big boy money and not being stuck making subway sandwiches. If you hate college so bad, take summer and winter classes to be done with it faster.
There's literally no alternative to this shit?
Do you want to join the military? Do you want to be a tradesman? Do you want to serve tables? If you do, genuinely, go right ahead. But English 101 is not the hardest thing that will ever happen to you. Semesters are short. Take life in four-month chunks.
This (
) is such laughably retarded advice that I almost chuckled irl. Jesus fucking christ I'd be stressed as hell too OP if everyone around me including the retards on this board were pushing me to college.
Most of the workforce doesn't have degrees. It's not either Engineering or fucking McDonalds. There are options outside of those two. A whole lot. It takes a lot of professions to keep this shithole society running.
Jesus christ the naggers on this board will convince you that everyone and their moms has a double degree triple Master's accredition just to be able to afford food. The fearmongering I see here is fucking disgusting and this is the kind of shit I'd expect to find on reddit, not here of all places.
You'd think actual black naggers would have a 90% homeless rate with the way these people make it seem that having no degree means you'll starve on the streets. LOL
Here's a super secret process on how to make a life without a degree: Take a bullshit general labour job, like a warehouse or something. Learn and work hard. Show up on time. Feel proud of your work. Get promoted. Get money. Live with your parents until your late 20s. Gain confidence. Keep lifting. Develop skills on the way. Maybe get into entrepreneurship.
But of course no soft-handed retarded suburbanite LULZner or your mother will tell you about a process that millions of men have been doing for generations. Lmao.
Don't blindly get into debt. Watch this video. And remember to just enjoy life. It's short.
College is much better and easier than any job you could think of. All you have to do is learn
Here is an interesting perspective. If in college you feel like crap one day and miss a class (or even classes) you can just skip, maybe ask a friend to help you catch up, if even that is necessarry and depending on what you miss.
If you miss work enough, you are coming back to twice as much work for all that you missed, you could be well end up fired, and even if not that at least in the shit list, worst case scenario fired and in the shit list, so that other companies don't even hire you again.
It's a bit of an exageration, but the fact it's not imposible is telling. You don't get to wake up one day and feel like "missing class" ever again once you start working. Your first year you might not even have one week of vacations.
If your boss mistreats you in a shit job, then you eat it up or end up fired. Even if it's completly and absolutly unfair.
So try to get a decent job.
And it's easier to a deccent job by completing an education.
Went from a 4 year gap year(s), 30 pounds over weight to fit and applying to radiology residencies in my fourth year of medical school. I will share with you what helped me personally.
If I could retroactively give the 2018-2019 version of myself advice, it would be
1) Make a schedule that you follow
2) Make a plan. It has to be written.
3). Have daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly goals that align with your morals and what you want out of your life / career.
This also should be written.
It's okay to take a semester off college. Just have a plan and stick to a schedule. You could be successful in something that is not related to academics.
If you don't have a plan and schedule however, you will spiral and regress.
As a dropout (twice). What you learn from failing so many times is that it really doesn't matter in the end. Just be honest and try again at something else that peaks your interest. You can always go back and finish it later if that's in the cards. Be honest and keep going no matter what. You are stronger than the people who make everything on their first try.
Listen anon, let me give it you straight, so that you can ignore me and then, maybe, remeber this a general concept within that thread you made in LULZ.
You are fucking up. Not because you are dropping out, alone, but because you think a life goal / meaning is going to drop on you.
I am not about to give you the "it's all about mentality" bullcrap that people buy tickets to go watch some fucker deliver, whom nobody seems to find strange makes a living out of that rather than doing anything real with his super mentality.
I will say, and I am using the spacing so you actually read some of it, that literally nothing ever makes sense. People pretend that it does, they avoid their eyes to the shit and pull through. To some it's harder, a built in disadvantage, and perhaps you blow your brains out when everybody thought you had it all together, but most others that didn't pull the lucky number, just straight up pull through life.
If you think you need to "take a time to figure things out", please don't. Actually use the time now to figure things out.
If I was you I would bite the bullet, accept all sucks, get the fucking degree, and then using that as a base, and maybe having some actual money, you could try to find something to do with your life.
I know a guy that got his degree as a civil engineer, thirty something, hated his life, but he had fucking money.
He went away to a small town, was able to lay low and survive for a bit, then used up all that he had saved to start a company selling desserts. He did well enough to seel nationwide and even import. Good for him, really, but even just surviving in the place and with the job he wanted is something he can do because he had the cash to do it.
If you parents can bail you out, then fucking face them and accept that you are one lucky bitch, but don't pretend like life owns you jack shit.
Take it for me, I thought I was hot stuff, I got my minor degree on chemistry, dropped out of my major, starved some, ended up working in something I hate even more and my country's economy gets worse by the day. I might be destitute tomorrow, but meanwhile each every friend I have that kept going is doing fucking great. Even those that don't even like chemistry.
It's not getting better, and you can get to where you want to go once you actually have the cash to do it. Remember, the world does not own you anything.
You won't do shit, bitch. Just continue fucking around on LULZ for the next however many years and keep scrooling and watching /sig/ content until you're fucked for life due to all those years of inaction. Just LDAR.
