Modern AMD GPUs require loadable proprietary firmware to function, even with the free amdgpu driver.
I hate Nvidia, as any reasonable person should, but let's not pretend that it's currently possible to run a modern graphics stack without a trace of proprietary software or firmware anyway.
At least this is freely redistributable firmware though.
It's not ideal that it requires proprietary firmware but they get points for publishing it at least.
You can't use the Nvidia firmware with the free Nouveau driver at all.
shit and slow. would rather use a prehistoric x11 wm than that unusable PoS
tsmt

just use waybar lol
Unlike GNOME and KDE, Sway doesn't automatically adjust the render delay, making it have the highest latency of the three.
tl;dr worst implementation of the worst display protocol <bravo>
Well it's not automatic, but sway has that repaint scheduling algorithm which you can tweak to get the latency down. Actually I didn't even think GNOME or KDE had it, but I didn't keep track.
alright, got pretty far with wayland this time.
new killer for me, though: for thunderbird popup windows, i have the option of making thunderbird floating by default, or having the popup windows show up as tiling windows in sway.
If wayland still had window_type, it wouldn't be a problem, but they're apparently 'essentially useless, wontfix'
thanks op i cum on cat she hiss at penis
It's okay but doesn't work with shitvidia + still has a bunch of quirks like not being able to screenshare specific windows just entire screen
>It's okay but doesn't work with shitvidia
What are you babbling about ? I'm running Sway right now with the proprietary NVidia driver.
You get a warning that you are running 'proprietary!!!', but that's it. Runs great, use the vulkan backend as it is the best: WLR_RENDERER=vulkan

Hyprland
trannyware
It's made by a chud though

I can hear him telling me about critical race theory

isn't that a good thing?

Pick none
Fuck off Drew
DrewWare == high quality
Always.
call me when there's a functioning system tray
oh wait, that's outside the scope
it has, it's called waybar, swaybar is just proof of concept bar
>Wayland done right
Wayland is a protocol, a protocol that sway implements.
Explain how this statement contradicts the quote.
The Drewish Question becomes more pertinent every day.
>another drew segfault thread
how boring
Samefag
wrong schizo, i only posted
but thanks for playing
>schizo
>everyone is drew
Wayland done right is still worse than X11 done wrong.

You forgot the most important part: it's a tiling window manager, which is shit by definition regardless of the underlying display server protocol.
