Sunday Relaxation Late Hours Because Why Not Edition

Sunday Relaxation Late Hours Because Why Not Edition

Let's try to keep these at the ten minute mark or shorter, but otherwise post whatever the hell you want.

I'll let the first non-OP lad link the first track.

It's a decent art rock sounding kind of track, although it's not really my thing. She's an alright vocalist. Not bad. 7/10

nice happy poppy song, I think it needs more hooks but very nice still. 7/10

It reminds me a ton of the Velvet Underground, particularly that adventurous sounding percussion. The jazzy influences are also clear, which is great in terms of my personal taste. Thanks for sharing. 9/10

Fates Warning has a fairly nice cult following, but I really wish that they were a blockbuster success like a bunch of other metal groups.

I love heavy psychedelic rock from the 60s and 70s so much. Everything in the track clicks perfectly. I could hold back, but why? 10/10

It's somewhat on the generic side in terms of psychedelia, but those appealing vocals still won me over. I don't want to nitpick. Thanks for sharing. 8/10

                I looked up this version:

I love Killing Joke to pieces. There's really nothing that needs to be said about this one. A dark, anthemic track that's kind of timeless. 9/10

Even though I'm not that into folk, I enjoyed how carefree and pleasant this was, especially by the end, when it started to really pick up. (7/10)

I'm kind of lukewarm on this since it comes across as the same sort of 90s U.S. indie rock that I've heard so many times, sounding pleasant but not particularly interesting. The fact that the song sounds too long for what it's doing is also a negative. Nothing terrible about it per se, though. 6/10

Really fun high-energy classic rock song really elevated by the overtime that drummer's putting in. Feels really unpolished in a charming way. The chorus is a bit cheesy and, maybe underwhelming? The song just doesn't seem quite complete, but I like it just the same and will probably listen to it in future. Thanks for the rec, 7.5/10

Queen might be an odd comparison, yet I can't help but think of some of their really flamboyant and melodramatic songs about fictional characters during their adventures. It's completely a matter of personal opinion, but I think the rawness might be too much. Certainly great, though, that it does have so much energy. 8/10

Souvenir is by far the best thing OMD ever did, such a great song and they had a great video to match. The use of ethereal synth like that basically did vapourwave's nostalgia gimmick before vapour was a twinkle in anyone's eye.

I gave "Starkiller" a shot, and it's a really solid song. Has Oingo Boingo vibes in terms of being kind of theatrical. Particularly sweet vocals. Seems clearly worth repeated listens. 9/10

Aren't new wave acts such as the Cars, Blondie, Rick Springfield, and the Outfield praised by like a lot of people on LULZ all the time? I don't think I've seen any real opposition to either of those four artists ever.

I'm honestly having a lot of trouble believing you since we keep having people who post black metal, noise rock, political propaganda songs, and the like that're inherently highly alienating and niche be all angry when their material isn't praised.

Well that's not me. I don't even like metal or noise rock. Not sure what the point of asking me that question was if you weren't going to accept no for an answer. It's amazing how I didn't even post anything in this thread and you're still giving me shit.

Geez, I haven't heard the Scorpions in years. I'm a bit biased since I have a good bit of nostalgia for a lot of classic rock bands from waking up to them on my radio as a kid and it being what my dad mainly listened too, but I really like it. Exudes the kind of energy I would expect from a rock song of that age; I really like the "raw" sound from a lot of older rock groups, I can't hate it. 8/10
