he has two. mondays which as a general sales meeting he uses it to drill down on opportunities, doing double work as he also does that in 1/1s. they should be reserved for macro trends, highlighting help/resources needed to push, and so on. and the fridays which he uses to put additional pressure on the team under the guise of idea sharing. very oddputting and a massive waste of time.

training is for TRAINERS and your direct line manager. i am there to offer advice and guidance but it is not a part of the kpi and not expectation. it is our sole discretion to give if if and when we want to. not to be an ass but i am not gonna advertise myself as a coach when i dont get paid for doing it.

              Anonymous

Fair enough, I guess we work at different sized places, we don't have dedicated trainers so my seniors are responsible for knowledge sharing and I sometimes have juniors shadow them on tasks (though I select for the seniors who want to go into a people management direction and could benefit from having examples like this to point to as experience)

                Anonymous

yes, of course it will vary w size. i have worked both at large and small ones and it will depend on situation. if manpower is tight like at a small firm i would do it with no issues if it doesnt impact my work, and it usually doesn't. but it is the principle of things and also his attitude that is making me completely laying flat and dont want to contribute anything.

I would answer his call next time and be like hey what's going on? Make some stupid small talk, then when he asks about the client I would give him a quick rundown then say yeah they're on the other line on hold. I figured it was something super important for you to be calling me twice in such a short time. I used to do this to my boss and it would piss him off super bad. I would have usually finished the business with the client beforehand but a few times I would ask if I could call back.

Even if he is apologetic (he won't be) tell him the damage is already done and you have a job lined up elsewhere for higher pay. Be sure to name the reason for your quitting in your exit interview.

and i should have put my foot down. i already got intel from his direct reports before transferring to his team and it was basically the same regardless of level. he just loves to hear himself talk and do it top down to his teammates. fucking grim.

    >blames us for their failures
    >gets into shouting matches with the business people on our weekly calls
    >lies to anyone and everyone about everything to make himself look good

One of the dudes ended up retiring early because of the manager and the other followed pretty soon. I left the team for a promotion as soon as I hit my year. Been there. The boomer who took over had been with the company for less time and knew less than even the lowest ranked of my team. Pretty sure the guy had early stage dementia tbh, but he was the worst kind of worst to the point you can't even feel bad for him. Everyone on Canada side of company wtf'd hard at him getting the position, every management member (myself included) quit after years of high praise work after having to report to him. Pretty sure he only got the position because of boomer nepotism and I heard the guy who recommended him jumped ship shortly after when everyone started noticing what a bad move that was.

I like to check the company's reviews periodically and they've gone from high praise on places like glass door to lowest stars and having to outright block google reviews as even random companies that were contracted started complaining on there. They'll never realize how badly they shot themselves in the foot, but it feels kinda nice to see them crash and burn tbh.

    Sucks, bro.
You might need to pull a therapist on him in the 1-on-1 with direct questions like "Are there concerns from the higher-ups about my performance? Is there a reason you feel the need to interrupt my work with this stuff?" and shit like that. If there's a good reason that he's hoverhanding you, get him to cough it up, otherwise, it gives you complete justification to tell him to ease off and spend his time managing the others in the department that need it and accept it.
I'm a director in my department, and everything is very 'hands off' because I pay people to be professionals and I tell them that's the expectation. I've only ever had to fire one person (which sucked), but everyone wants to work in my department, even though we have a lot of hard work to do.

A week ago, I was up at 3am on Monday and I said to myself that I just couldn't do it anymore. The job I was at paid well and had great benefits, but the woman training me was a micromanaging bitch and the job I was training for went from 4:30pm to 5:30am Monday through Saturday. So that Monday I said fuck it and quit. Be careful when you do that though, I'm having trouble finding work now. My plan is to do two low stress, part time jobs, but I'm having trouble finding those. I can go a couple weeks and still be okay on rent, but I'll fall behind on bills if I don't find something soon. That's all to say it's better to have something lined up when you quit, but every fiber in my being was telling me that I'm too old to put up with shit jobs.

i would basically hit her up like a worker with mundane and random questions
and then drop tons of gore pics on her in response
also, i would post her number to forums and facebook groups frequented by naggers, and i would tell them that she is a hoe down to fuck
not only will she have to deal with gore, but a tidal wave of nagger dick too (if she's a roastie, she might like it)
        ultimately, OP gets left alone

Just create a log, log times, screenshots, etc.. Once you have enough of the behaviour, make a workplace bullying complaint! Log it all my friend, same as with your whore wife, log everything!
Body worn cameras are also an option.

the one thing i dont understand about working is that there is such a divide between people who are such insanely high EQ i feel like a social retard around them, and people who are absolutely abysmal levels of EQ they are like retarded toddlers who just interrupt everyone they're talking to

its like whiplash sometimes, talking to the high EQ guy who is some gigabrain 200 IQ savant whos studying everything youre saying and oing and then you go talk to the the low EQ guy who just interrupts you if hes not talking for 3 seconds
