    I love most of Syd’s influence in Pink Floyd aside from his fixation with making nursery rhymes and whimsical fairy tales.

      If you'd actually done psychedelics that might start to make sense lol.

      I usually love the type of songwriting with relatively simple lyrics and themes of innocence and irreverence, some Beatles songs are kinda like that, but something about Syds writing is just obnoxious to me.

        Pink Floyd is better than The Beatles bro.

          You're retarded lmao.

          Floyd sucks dude, Syd-era Floyd sucks even more.

            The Beatles and Beach Boys are prettymuch babies first. Like genuine retard shit if you're that into them and over the age of 15 or so. Ok as background music but not deeply meaningful or anything. Cream did it better.

              Beatles;
              >Some kind of innocence is measured out in miles, you really think you're something special when you smile, you can talk to me, if you're lonely you can talk to me
              Syd-era P*nk Floyd;
              >I'VE GOT A BIKE YOU CAN RIDE IT IF YOU LIKE!

              Its no contest dude Syd sucked ass.

                Syd's lyrics sucked even more in his solo albums. Didn't help he was already full schizo at that point.

              I don’t think The Beatles and The Beach Boys are the absolute peak of music, all I’m saying is that in this case I think they share the use of playful innocence with Syd but have a more tasteful approach to it. If you want another comparison, I think Kevin Ayers’ works are a good example too.

              Music is just music. Stop being such a pretentious cunt. If I like a simple melody i just like it

                Its boring music,wildly overrated by people who want to seem intresting and use it as a posturing tool but really aren't. Pink Floyd are actually engaging. You're not "less reddit" for liking The Beatles either. That would be pretty laughable at this point.

    British mono release is best version.
    I don't know if I'd go so far as to say that it "Solves" psychedelic music, or anything though.
    Reminds me of Donovan if he was tripping balls while making a new album, back in the day.
    Still an enjoyable listen after all these years IMHO.
