solovair has a lot of QC issues and it seems that whatever coating they put on their leather doesn’t hold up well. The boot thread will tell you that real boots that are quality start at around $400 and I’m inclined to agree. If you don’t want to spend that then I would just get something much cheaper and let them wear out when they do.

Red Wings are usually under 400 and in terms of quality most people won’t ever need more than that.
If quality is a concern I’d go with Red Wings (picrel) or Blundstones, but if you like how the Solovairs look, I’d say they’re good enough.

Fags in the boot thread should be ignored
They have the worst taste imaginable
It’s impossible to go into the thread and see any good looking boots posted
It’d a classic case of reddit autism taken so far that they obsess over irrelevant minor details and ignore what actually matters, looking good

It’s literally not though. Most people that buy boots want to wear them in and get natural wear and tear. BTG gays will literally have a panic attack if they step in a puddle with their supposedly durable leather boots and are completely insecure about creases. They are basically sneakerheads in every sense of the word.
I’ve worn the same pair of Timberland Port Unions for 4 years now near daily, have gone hiking in them, gone to office jobs in them, never worried about them breaking or falling apart. And if they did I wouldn’t care because I’m not poor and can afford a pair of shoes every 4 years LOL

            >b b b b but I’m not poor!
That’s not the point. The point is having something that lasts a lot longer than 4 years. Your patina/wear will be a lot better anyway if your shoes last a couple of resoles. And if you want that you need to pay for it. If you’re "not poor" then shell out for higher quality. 4 years is not a long time

not that guy, but I have a number of docs and all of them are well over 4 years old and still in great shape lol

that’s because you don’t wear one pair everyday. I have Solavairs and Thursdays. The most hated boots. They’re not that bad but I can tell they’re shittier than other shit.

I bet every single poster in there is ugly as heck and dress like stupid gay numale hipsters but think they are manly because they spent $600 on handmade cringe boots

Also, if budget is a concern, I’d take a look at Clarks. While not the best in the market, Clarks offer a lot of bang for your buck in terms of quality-price ratio. I had some Clarks shoes that I used on a daily basis for work which lasted me about ten years. Coukd have gone longer if I had took better care of them. Would recommend.

go back to the btg you obnoxious gay.

The last time I saw a man wearing docs was when I was reading The Boys comic book. In real life it’s a teen/college girl thing. That being said they look sweet and I want them regardless.

oh i am well aware, but i can look past that back to when they were more of a punk/skinhead thing and appreciate the look. I have a number of heritage/us made boots, and I almost always find my docs to be more comfortable to wear and I love the look of them. I am under no illusion that they are bifl lol
