Socks

What’s the best cut and brand of socks for everyday use? Looking for comfort and durability. I walk a hole through every sock in a six pack within a month. Or I buy a thick ass sock that loses elasticity within 3 uses.

Why in over 5,000 years of humans creating and perfecting everything from the wheel to space stations, have we not come up with a sick that: doesn’t wear out quickly, is comfortable and breathable, and stays in place?

It does to me, and many other people.

Darn tough. Best socks I’ve ever owned. If you somehow manage to wear a hole in em they send you a pair for free. Lifetime warranty. Fit is up to you. I prefer over the calf.

Those look like great durability. But hot damn $20 for one pair?? How breathable are they? I may buy a pair and try out, thanks for the suggestion.

no show looks best for sneakers although I prefer the extra low for everyday use because it’s more comfortable, I’m used to it, doesn’t slip, and I’m sensitive to physical stimuli. No show obviously must be worn for loafers and stuff. Nobody really cares about your socks anyhow

Thanks, I pretty much agree with you. I don’t care too much about what other people think, I mean I’m not gonna wear over the calf white socks with shorts or socks with sandals, but other than that I’ll make due with most cuts.

/fashion/ won’t agree, because they’re mentally-ill and out of touch. There’s no real reason left to be here unless you like hanging around neurotic mental cases who squabble about minute nothings when getting the details to a t is associated with prep style, and so is now-a-days, a massive waste of time and energy. I grew up with Uber wealthy people who wore and still wear complimentary tees, those atrocious american eagle synthetic blend shorts with the nike jogger black tape on the sides and nike or adidas athletic shoes. I’d say just follow the capsule wardrobe in neutral colors+ some other stuff, wear classic timeless stuff that isn’t worn by smelly /fashion/trannies and to get on with it and out of here. That’s what I’m working on doing.

Sounds like you need to take a break from the internet entirely. You’re the only one in this thread bringing negativity.

They’re very breathable, especially the merino wools. Definitely worth a shot to see if you like em.

Thanks , I’m gonna order a pair today and if they work I’ll get 6 more.

I’ve had nothing but good luck with Stance socks. They’re a little pricy, but they last a while and have tons of awesome designs if you like that sort of thing. They also have plenty of plain sock options as well

Our feet aren’t rounded in the front like a boat. Get socks with an actual foot shape and you will find yourself creating holes less frequently.

My bamboo bedsheets got holes from my dog pretty quick, which never happened with regular sheets. But it is super soft and cool in summer

    Best socks
    1) no sock for walking bare feet or sandals
    2) no show or liner for showing of your ankles with pants that allow it or shorts
    3) mid calf for suits and similar. Most comfortable sock apart from no socks.

Ignore everyone else in this thread.

Darn Toughs are the best socks you will ever buy.
Made in Vermont and family owned, they have a guarantee that if it’s damaged, just mail the pair in and you’ll get a replacement for free.

I’ve worn Darn Toughs in the field for 4 days straight, no blisters. Of course, I aired my feet out and let the socks dry at night, but they’re the best.

~$20 a pair and they show why.

I wear sensory friendly / autism socks because they’re breathable and don’t have seams. They’re kinda thin but no holes yet

I am a distance runner. I need socks that can survive being run in for literally hundreds of miles before they wear out. If you want the perfect sock expect to pay $15-$20/pair. Good brands are
    >Darn Tough for hiking/autumn/winter/rain/boots
    >Feetures, Balega for every day wear
    >Swiftwick for light socks during spring/summer
    >Injinji if you want toe socks
