I just realized that I went through a kind of atheist phase when I was younger. It wasn't that I didn't believe, it was that I wasn't devout and I didn't think prayer worked. And I realize this feeling comes from the fact that I felt like the modern world had most of my needs met so it made me apathetic to my spiritual needs, I was dead. I would watch stupid movies like Scary Movie 3 and decide for myself that there is nothing more to life because this abomination of a movie exists - that's sad.
With my waxing faith, I was never happy, I was always angry.
I feel lucky that I started going to church again and believing in God properly. Because I am not as angry anymore or anxious. The modern world makes you feel anxious, you don't feel God's love and safety.

Ok and how did you realize your religion was the true one? I'm pretty sure you had a very logical reason and you weren't just using religion as a escapist method to cope with your existential crisis.

because the New Testament is a message of love and not of self worship. My wisdom is telling me that is the truth.

ok what about the Old Testament?

          Anonymous

Not the same guy. But old
Means antiquated and no longer needed. For that time, the OT was needed. But then the NT was needed. So the OT was only for people at that time. I mean to say the logic and persuasion used was needed. The law is still needed. It is like the constitution of America. The NT is the latest amendment, the OT is the bill of rights.

No, I didn’t say that. I said the law is still important. I’m just saying to use the book as a justification for belief is uneeded. And to value law that the NT amended is a waste of time. The NT is the new basis of beleifs. Before it was the exodus, but now it’s the resurrection. And the NT is the basis for the belief of god and his laws, which are found in the OT. You’re being a moron. Idiot. Why are atheists like this.

I am not concerned of just being ok, im concerned of the state of my eternal soul.
This is not even something I really sought out. I was in the occult and wanted to get out. And God clearly told me that the only way out is Jesus. I'm not just looking for books to soothe my concience I Purchased my way out with tears prayer and a suicide attempt. Without God I wouldn't be alive. I owe Him.

Yes, I was trying to convey this point. I meant to say the OT was for law, but the NT was a new reason to believe. As opposed to exodus, it now becomes the resurrection.

Do you yourself keep the law?
            Like all of it.
            Have fun

Also, some myself, I try to. Everytime I look at pork or shellfish, I am increasingly hesitant. Although I’m not yet pure, I’m slowly becoming pure by slow gains. Like working out my muscles, I am working out my mind. Which is a slow process, but at least I am trying. I have slowly been changing my lifestyle, day by day, with little things.

Yeah, no. Once you break the Law, you break the Law, there's no other way around it. Better start looking for doves to purchase.

No, you ask for forgiveness. You’re an idiot and you’re just pulling stuff out of your ass. The Bible says we aren’t perfect, no one but God. So once I break the law, I ask for forgiveness, which I do every night with the Lord’s Prayer

You can apply the same logic to atheism and veganism. If you believe any morals of atheist circles, you find it increasingly hard to be a perfectly fit and healthy and good person. No different. You’re being an ass

Ok well If you are legalistic I don't want to ruin your day. I was too for 3 years. Then I got under Grace. But only God can take you through the proccess. Paul said that let no man make fun of those who don't eat meat and so on. But God wants us to really keep just two commandments: Love god, love neighbor as yourself. But power preaching is good when you get sloppy.

This is actually interesting. I'm a baptist and I stopped visiting IQfy and other imageboards in order to become a normie, which i kinda am now. However I was really fed up with normie lifestyle and decided to come here on worksafe side of IQfy to see how the internet culture is doing. I found it quite hostile, not for me but towards people in general, however people irl are more troublesome. It takes effort. How are you still on IQfy? I left because of some psalm which said that it is not fine to sit around mockers or something.
