Without the elite Cody also would've been back in the WWE in like 2 years or so. They all needed each other, but it was The Bucks who pushed the strongest to take a chance on AEW. Omega held out the longest mostly due to his contract situation but he was probably WWE bound if for nothing else but the insane amount of money he was offered.
Cody left without knowing the elite, it was Kevin Owens who gave him their numbers but Cody probably would've ended up in ROH and working indys without the elite. His NJPW run being as prominent as it was and his hype becoming as big as it did doesn't happen without the elite and BTE though. He was still second to Omega up until the Dustin match and the "I need my brother" promo which really carried a massive amount of babyface momentum with Cody into the start of AEW.
Incorrect. Everyone other than Cody were committed to AEW before him. Cody was a bullshit artist who said they were going to stick together no matter what and then privately flipflopped repeatedly between forming AEW and going straight back to the E.

So dumb, because without Cody they would have all went to WWE and AEW wouldn't exist. Also, comparing a wrestling company to a clock makes no sense.

And without The ELITE Cody would still be wearing the facepaint and jobbing on Superstars

I unironically think Cody will be back in AEW once he's won the WWE belt. Cody's fixation on mah daddeh and that belt is what's driving him imo.
