i dreamed last night after smoking weed, although upon awakening a majority of the dream is unmemorable, but i remember enjoying it as it was happening, could be because I'm two months into semen retention.
While I agree quality sleep is important (hitting REM 2 and beyond) I don't think that weed is truly any hindrance to that, I'm pretty sure it's more a matter of general health.

My sleeping schedule is rock solid, you could set a clock to it.
Only problem is a day for my brain is 30 hours long, I stay up for 20 hours and then sleep for 10. I just have too much energy for a 24 hour day, that's for plebs.

I still had dreams on weed. Smoked habitually multiple times a day everyday for quite some time. Still dreamt, vivid dreams. Quit smoking and had the most dream intense week ever. Like a literal dream backlog. Now I'm back to dreaming the same as when I smoked. Dunno what's up.

marijuana is being given to the masses because it will dull them spiritually. obviously not dreaming is evidence of this, because dreams are inherently spiritual

Before I started smoking weed everyday for 3 years straight I was an atheist wagecuck while now I just sponge welfare and study scripture 24/7 like a Hasidic israelite so I'm thinking TPTB are making a critical miscalculation on that one.

Before psych meds fricked my brain permanently, weed used to genuinely make me happy and open me up creatively. Now it just induces psychosis and panic attacks and yet I still occasionally do it.

      Anonymous

I've never found any significant creative impulses in it, no panic attacks either. It just silences the chattering in my brain. At this point I smoke weed like normal people smoke tobacco even tho I don't get much out of it, because without it I'm overwhelmed by internal chattering and irrational thoughts.

          What did they do?

Very long story. Long story short, they caused me to see my face melt off in the mirror, went to ER, stupidly told them I was having suicidal thoughts hearing voices seeing things feeling paranoid. They put me in handcuffs and put me in the back of an ambulance for 72 hour mental evaluation at psychiatric hospital where I’m exposed to actual crazy people and given antipsychotic medication that made everything far worse. Release me. I lie in bed for about 3 months afterward with constant extreme suicidal thoughts. It’s been 7 years and I’m only 90% back to normal and it’s been a VERY gradual recovery.

I should have green texted. My point, to anyone reading this, don’t let them do this to you. The mental pain I’ve felt like literal Hell. I’ve had 3rd degree burns on the entirety of one of my arms and given the choice I would take that pain 5 or 10 times over the mental pain those drugs caused me.

I still dream and smoke what would be considered by many heavily (to my shame, it's a vice I must tackle)
But, the recall rate is down the shitter, that's the thing. Sometimes I will go for weeks without bringing back anything that doesn't fade instantly. Other times, and this feels strange, I awake with the full unquestioning awareness that I had dreamt, that events in dream have occurred, the impression and knowledge of "that" it happened is there, but it feels like a walled-off pocket I have no access to at all.
I still do have occasional vivid and profound dreams I remember though, and have, I've been a heavy smoker for years now. I record every thing that I do remember well enough, though, and suspect this helps with recall.

Marijuana is a vice for me that is harder for me to quit that cigarettes...I don't quite know why. But an increase in the quality of the dreaming I already do is one thing to look forward to past the withdrawls (which are nothing compared to harder drugs ofc, but at the same time are kinda downplayed and underrated by many..)

God, if I couldn't dream ever at all I'd feel incomplete fundamentally

Weed raises your vibration up to a point then you have to ditch it or it will keep pulling you back down to its level.

True. Before my dreams were always either weird, nightmarish or nonsensical and I'd forget all about them in an hour or two. They also always closely resembled real life.

This happens to me, but the craziest part is how long it takes for me to have dreams again after stopping, and the infrequency of my dreaming. I'm starting to wonder if I'll only have dreams once every other month for the rest of my life even if I never smoke weed again.

Whenever I took a T break, I would get incredibly vivid dreams.
I haven't smoked weed in 7 months, I got a new job and moved to another country. I have really nice dreams, started going to the gym, and am saving money, investing, and spending money on my family.
I fell for the weed is not addictive meme, but I had a lot of fun smoking it for 7 years

me too anon, life is so fricking great right now. i am so glad to kick weed out of my life. dreams are the biggest bonus from it, I'd say. all my dreams have become insanly vivid, to the point where i wake up with tears in my eyes because i dreamt of driving my old 95 prelude which got stolen from me. i miss that car so fricking much, dude. i have even been able to instinctually wake myself up minutes before my alarm goes off, always feeling a sense of clarity.

When I smoked I had dreams but they were very surreal, like mallworld and hotels in the sky, loved it.
I quit 10 days ago and now all my dreams are much more based in my current reality (people I know, places I live and have been), feels awkward.

Weed helps if you're having reoccurring bad dreams, and if you're retaining semen it reduces the chance you will have a nocturnal emission. Weed is good for you. Just quit for a while if you want to dream again. What's cool is dreams are crazier when you quit weed or take a tolerance break.

this is something every weed smoker knows, but the medical establishment makes no mention of (perhaps now there is some research, but not aware).

weed opens you up to different forms of communication. Thoughts are received from otherworldly beings. The only real thoughts you have are monkey thoughts, like who to frick, kill, or eat. All else is from spirits.

weed is a shamanic drug. you still dream, but you forget your dreams as soon as you wake up. this is like your psyche protecting itself, as weed dreams are incredibly bizarre and magical. like how you cant remember some traumatic events, the mind simply locks it away and throws away thr key. it is for your own good, a way to maintain your sanity. they werent kidding when they called weed the devil's herb.

your weed dreams are stored directly in your subconsious, where they are allowed to gestate, only to resurface decades later, when your mind is ready to remember them. the domains you enter with weed dreams are too powerful and immersive for most human minds to comprehend, and the conscious mind rejects them and does not allow them to be stored as waking memories.

as soon as you stop, very vivid, often lucid, dreams will return. the first few will be half as bizarre as your weed dreams, after which you will dream normal boring dreams.

but even normal boring dreams are passages to other worlds, where spirit entities can control you and the reality around you. like a video game, where you are a playable character.

tldr: you still dream, but your mind forgets and rejects the dreams, because they may crush you if you would remember these. you will remember them when ready, or not remember them, but these still surface later to influence you.

I figure we do dream when we're high. We just don't remember it. Weed gives me very deep sleeps. Usually I'm a light sleeper, but if I go to bed after a few joints I sleep like the dead.

Why do I still have intense and vivid dreams. Lucid dreams. Dreams where I can use my senses, feel intensely. Dreams where I'm singing, but irl I can't sing for shit. Elaborate landscape and architecture. Dreams I'm someone else. I starting smoking to see if it'd stop but it didn't at all. Every time I wake up from a vivid lucid dream, the middle/back of my head is throbbing.

I have had similar dreams, of being in a famous band with a friend from high school. It could be an alternate reality you are seeing, but more than likely, you keep your mouth shut and grin and bear things, and most likely feel as though you aren't being heard. I've identified the singing in my dreams usually come about after the inability to speak in said dreams, or after slurred speech.
