At best he could've gotten some payments and a god trade deal, after 150 years of cosntant war Japan hardly had the manpower to control southern Korea, let alone that monstrosity of a map.

            >150 years of cosntant war Japan
The Sengoku period was actually a period of economic flourishing in Japan

    >Rises from Peasant-Soldier to Lord of All Japan thanks to meritocracy & social mobility in the warrior class.
    >Abolishes meritocracy & enshrines class freezes once in power.

      >thanks to meritocracy & social mobility in the warrior class.
There wasnt meritocracy and social mobility. There wqs only barely contained anarchy

The Bushi Class was pretty much open prior the codification & formalization of the Samurai class. If you knew how to fight in a professional capacity and attracted the attention of a lord who promptly hired you, you're part of the warrior class and you had a chance to rise through the ranks. It didn't matter if you were some peasant frick who stole a bunch of weapons and armored and learned how to fight the hard way.

Toyotomi fricking ended that and declared only those who are born into warrior class families can be members of the warrior class.

That situation was literally only possible because it was the warring states period where old structures of autbority broke down. It was literal anarchy. Hideyoshi's aim was to bring stability

homie the Bushi class again was pretty much open prior the codification & formalization of the Samurai class. That was a thing even prior the fricked upness of the Onin War.
