Should I waste 100$ on a Mensa iq test?

>never done an IQ test
>Went to a law school ranked about top 150th
>Was an average student in my classes basically always scoring 65% (which was the middle average on the bell curve

Based on this what would you estimate my IQ?

Want to know if I would be wasting 100$ to take the Mensa iq test and you need 130 to get in. Do I have a chance?

Serious answers please

I personally believe that IQ is a dumb concept because you can learn for it and drastically improve your score, bit well.
I think the important question is what's the reason for it is. If you want to get it to flex online then it's a dumb thing. If you need it for something then practice first and score too high.

Intelligence largely doesn't matter. Work ethic matters.

Why would you take a mensa test when you could take the Stanford Binet or the WAIS which could get you into mensa if that's what you're after, but they're also more general IQ tests rather than stricts MENSA shit?

The fact that you consider it "wasting" money to do the IQ test already seems to imply you think being in Mensa is dumb, so I would probably advise against it.

100 dollars on a google form.
You won't have an impressive IQ if you have spent 100 dollars for a google form.

      Points taken thanks.

Please estimate my IQ from the info I have provided about me. 105?115?125?135?145? What would you guess. Would the 130 to pass the test me asking too much?

Success in school doesn't mean a ton for this, my very rough ballpark estimate would be in the 120 range, probably not enough for Mensa.
But IQ is bullshit anyways. Don't let Mensa's standards fool you about it. Richard Feynman was one of the greatest physicists of all time and he was 125.
To be real with you, IQ is better at measuring when someone is deficient than when they are proficient. So past a point, probably around the 120ish range, it stops being very meaningful

        What are your SAT/ACT scores?

In Australia entry into law school is an undergraduate degree. You can go to law school straight from high school if your marks are high enough, so I never sat the lsat. You can sit it but that's only if your high school marks aren't high enough. But for my high school marks I was top 10% of my state

Well look up what top 10% IQ is. I'm on my phone and too lazy to do it lol. If I remember right, 130ish is already something like 97th percentile

              Going by this
              https://www.iqcomparisonsite.com/iqtable.aspx
Top 10% IQ is equal to 120

              Top 3.5% gets you 130

But I don't know if I should be using my high school results to calculate my IQ. Sure there is a correlation with grades and IQ but I was kind of a lazy student and scored in the top 10%. Can't help think I could have scored in the top 5% atleast if a tried a little harder. Not to mention the fact that high school exams aren't IQ tests to begin with

Well then you have a good idea what might be your minimum score eh? If you coulda at least scored in the top 5% then look up that score, and if your think you mighta pulled top 1-2% then you figure you're in the top 10%-1% range on your iq, look up the score for 10% and the score for 1% and you figured you're prolly somewhere in that range

Yeah it's just hard to say. Am worried I will just miss out and get in the 125-129 range. Its times like this I wish a wasn't born 10 weeks premature. They say for every week born prematurely you drop about 1.5 IQ points. So let's say I score 125 my IQ had I been born on time could have been about 138

                >Each additional week of pregnancy that babies missed with preterm deliveries was associated with a 1.26-point reduction in IQ scores, researchers report in JAMA Pediatrics.

Damn I was born 3 weeks prematurely. I could have had an IQ of 163.

Just do the mensa norway one online for a ballpark estimate
The only reason to join mensa would be for the local networking events but I've heard most of them are shit anyway.
