    probably not
ask in the tech worker general, this didn't

Yes. Racket or Common Lisp. There's not much market for it, but it's not impossible.

Its the simplest language ever. Simple syintax, easy to figure out, works well with emacs. I cant use anything else. I want to solve problem's not learn syintax. And code written in 1985 still works .

I recommend Emacs Lisp, why? Because it's quite a small language and won't take you long to learn, you can then keep going and learn common lisp 🙂

You don't learn Lisp to get a job, you learn it so you can perfect your Emacs setup

No one actually uses emacs. It's just something LULZtards LARP about. Much like lisp. Just use VS Code or Visual Studio, learn a real language, and ignore this LARP.

Thanks, but I'm sticking with Emacs anon.

            >5s startup time you fucking midwit
First of all it's more like 100ms and if you really need low startup time you can compile your application to native with Graal.

              >if you really need low startup time you can compile your application to native with Graal.
that doesn't help when you want a fast startup time when writing programs
JVM languages usually have a compiler itself executing on the JVM so it adds up when you are doing both compilation + execution

What? nagger Clojure has a repl, you don't need fast startup times when writing programs.

why should I wait 1 or 2 seconds each time I modify something and want to see if it work?

? It's literally one of the main reasons to use Clojure also you're proving you have never actually used clojure you fucking naggerhomosexual. You can literally work on backend code without having to recompile shit, it does everything for you. Jesus fucking Christ, do the world a favor and kill yourself.

    >Should I learn LISP?
Sure, if you want to. It's a very unique set of languages that are fun to write in, imo.

    >If so, which dialect?
Depends. If you want something smaller and more beginner-friendly, Racket or any Scheme should work fine. Otherwise, use Common Lisp.

    >Is it useful for getting a job?
    Absolutely not.

Yes you should learn Lisp, it is the most powerful programming language.

Clojure will let you actually get a job, build practical programs, and teach you about immutable data structures.

Scheme is the most elegant and will give you the deepest insights into the nature of programming and computation (and imo is the most fun). Guile Scheme will let you hack on Guix and perhaps Guile Emacs in the future.

Elisp will let you hack on Emacs, the most powerful text processing environment which will never die.

Common Lisp, though truest to the original idea of "Lisp," has fallen into an uncanny value of being both uglier than Scheme, less practical than Clojure, and with no relevant pieces of software like Emacs. Waste of time ecxept for historical curiosity.
