We all know universal healthcare is coming to the US sooner or later. Should dental care and orthodontics be covered on this as well? Braces are mainly cosmetic. Normal dental care isn’t covered with health insurance in the US. And dental insurance hardly covered braces. Should the government step up to the plate?
Should braces be covered under universal healthcare?

braces can be worse for your teeth making them weaker for cosmetic benefits mainly
i never needed any, i have great genes you dirty dysgenic mud monkey
Majority of orthodontic problems could be solved if the kid got a retainer at puberty which is much cheaper than braces.
Yes. I had to wait til I was 30 to get mine. It fucked up my personality pretty bad.
Cavities cause heart problems and they don't even cover those.
Shouldn't we talk about that first?
If they were to implement universal healthcare they'd have to pay government employees a lot more.
braces can cause scar tissue to form in the south tissue of your mouth, and with alcohol use cause cancer. it is like most USian medical advances just a vanity thing.
>USian medical advances
A frenchman invented braces.
Braces cause cancer
Just euthanize every individual with crooked teeth, it's an indicator of lesser genetic stock.
Lets start with killing those with little dicks first so won't miss out
It's an indicator of an industrial diet making for smaller mouths. Henry Cavill has crooked teeth, wanna euthanise him for being lesser genetic stock?
Yes
Girls that wear braces are pretty hot
No. Absolutely not.
Okay, fag
there should be a dental draft where like 1 in 500 is required to do dental training to at least do root canals and teeth removal and provide the service for free for 4 years.
>We all know universal healthcare is coming to the US sooner or later
dont hold your breath. israel needs another aid package.
Dental care is covered up to 18 here, I think.
After that you pay full price up to a specific amount where the state comes in and subsidize's it.
I don't have all the specifics as I don't have much experience with dental surgeries
>Braces are mainly cosmetic
Not true, but it is the main reason patients want them. People with unaligned teeth smacking together at weird angles and trapping food in weird spots leads to a lot of tooth loss and cost that could have been avoided. Braces are a lot cheaper than a mouth full of fillings, crowns, and implants.
Theres invisiline and other things like mouth molds you can get that align your teeth without braces in less time and they're way less expensive.
Also, I've heard that all of our terribly chemically altered food has warped everyone's DNA into fucking their teeth up even more. Or some such bullshit.
Crooked teeth were very uncommon till the 1800's...
Bet: She's British.
>she
Braces are terrible for you in the long run. Literally just eat hard food as a kid and not only will your teeth be perfectly straight, but your jaw will be chiseled and your chin will be wider
We have an epidemic of crooked-toothed slackjaw homosexuals because boomer moms fed their kids nothing but applesauce and gummy candy
Healthcare should be denied to fat people
