digits putting down the most unsuccessful forced meme... love it
Nobody will talk about Pere Ubu albums unless you open with a funpost.
I loved the Modern Dance, what should i listen to next? is anything they released later even comparable to MD?
Dub Housing and the Hearpen Singles compilation are both essential. I personally think DH is better than MD.
New Picnic Time is divisive but is still considered part of their classic albums. If you like it, Art of Walking and Song of the Bailing man are similar but even more experimental. Red Krayola's Soldier Talk is a Pere Ubu album similar to these, it's just labeled a Red Krayola album.
Tenement Year is a good new wave album, but it's not very experimental.
Raygun Suitcase through St. Arkansas are all good.
should I listen to the Hearpen Singles comp or Terminal Tower? both seem to have a similar track listing
Terminal Tower has a production problem IIRC
It also has slightly more material, but none of it is essential listening
Agree, might as well go with the Hearpen Singles. Terminal Tower has a couple of inessentials tacked on.
alright then thanks
The art of walking is their best by far, but LULZ's not ready for that conversation yet
Christ, I've loved ubu all my life and i'm not even sure i listened to that one all the way through
Nope. All of their subsequent albums suck major balls.
Don't listen to the asshole above. Hear Terminal Tower and Dub Housing at least. Their two late 80s comeback albums are good too, especially Cloudland.
You sound like a tasteless chud.
listen to marquee moon
Their peak? Crocus thought so.
I think Dub Housing is better, I like all the tracks on that one while I don't care for Voice of the Sand or All the Dogs Were Barking.
I agree. The only truly great track on Picnic is Jehovah's Kingdom Comes
This is the voice of the sand
There is more sea than sand
just listened to song of the bailing man
it was good (especially the last song) but art of walking is still better
