Basically this, cardigans are dated but comfy. It's also very easy to make them look bad so you have to be on your game and know how to dress it up without looking like a goober imo. But wear what you like man, it's just clothes.

looks good, i like it, but i would be to intimidated to go outside in it because of people thinking i fancy myself an aristocrat or intellectual or sth better than them.

I wear one through the fall and winter. It really depends on the rest of your fit. If you dress like an old professor or something yeah that'll happen but otherwise you can pair it with some nice denim and be pretty casual with it. I think a cardigan is a good switch for men when we get into our 30s and don't want to wear hoodies anymore. It serves the exact same function but looks a lot smarter

Good of worn well, like anything.

Had this feeling, can you tell me why?

A tad 2010 MFA-tier, but as time goes on, I think that stigma will go away. Like Peacoats.

Excellent if you're in an office job and want something dressy but not a sport coat. Or as maybe a layering piece.

Hard to style, but you can still buy one the worst could be that you will use it as a home jacket and it's very comfy.
