        wars usually emerged in economical depression so... imagine Somali pirates who would climb a military ship.
        Besides that, it is pretty masculine thing to do, it is a natural instinct to compete against other men. You are fighting a bloodless war just by living.

    The only truly justified and real wars were those of pre-agricultural societies.
    Everything since has been fought to add zeros to some israelite's bank account or an inbred king seething because his forefathers lost a patch of dirt to their neighbors ten generations ago.

      when I read Bible I see God allowed and specifically ordered Israel to conquer pagans.
      Church is New Israel.
      But yeah, paganism is more promoting war because you get to destroy entire villages for loot and get participate in raptio (capturing and enslaving women) in non-Christian socirty. Bible doesnt allows unlawful actions even during war even though Israel did.

        Christian nations have violated every law of war throughout history. The Middle Ages are a testament to the fact that a Bible based society is, ironically, not a peaceful one at all

        Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying,
        “See, the home of God is among mortals.
        He will dwell with them;
        they will be his peoples,
        and God himself will be with them;
        he will wipe every tear from their eyes.
        Death will be no more;
        mourning and crying and pain will be no more,
        for the first things have passed away.”
        Very pro war message.

    >at what age did you realize war is the most atrocious thing
    The first thing I ever heard about war was that it was horrible. I went to a really progressive artsy school back in the 90s (for the younger people: progressives/leftists were really anti-war in the 90s). Even when covering 'necessary' wars like WW2 the teachers mostly talked about how propaganda made it out to be glamorous when in reality it was just a bunch of death. I remember one time they had some WW2 veterans come in to speak, this one guy complained that WW2 was boring and that he "didn't get to see any action," my teachers looked all befuddled lol.
    >everyone who spoke fondly of it was a sheltered sociopathic wiener sucker
    Yes I think they should make it so that if you speak publicly in favour of a war you are immediately drafted to fight in it. One pro-war comment and BOOM! auto-enlistment, no physical or anything. I think then wars would only get support in situations when there were actual atrocities going on.

    Guys people die literally every day, gruesome agonizing deaths, for no reason at all. Am I gonna walk into the hospital and start lamenting at how horrible it is? Lmao. They died for something. Who cares? Is it really so much more horrible to die from mustard gas than an industrial accident?
    And are we forgetting that I literally do not give a frick? You might as well be ranting at me that Ghenghis Khan was a bad guy. Wow. Very insightful bro
    Did u know bad dudes, and bad things, can still sometimes produce good things? Truly unthinkable, I know

    Frick you, personalising pacifist c**ts. Wars are never about ego. They're about income, wealth, trade, food, and opportunities to ensure it.
    Not to mention that war is the motor of progress. Emancipation of women, abolition of slavery and serfdom, development of multiple dual purpose technologies like nuclear physics or field surgery - only God knows how long would it take for humanity to achieve all that without healthy portion of disasters and violence.

    wars are never about anyone's ego.

    Civilians, such as most of us, and people who have never been in war in general should not have opinions on war.
    >Pro war side is msotly deranged teenagers who have had not hardship in life and to compensate want to die in a war
    >Anti-war side is mostly made up of people being emotionally manipulated by cinema
    Unless you've been at war you shiuld shut up about it.

    It's no surprise wars became less popular among the first world as soon as we had mass video media, and the stories of valiant warriors were replaced with the reality of some poor unlucky bastard screaming on camera for all the people back home to see during their dinner.

      Answer me this: you’re at war, who do you send to the front, you’re strongest and smartest or your cripples?
      If you want to win you’ll do the former which means that you’ll lose some of your best genetic stock regardless if you win

    >at what age did you realize war is the most atrocious thing in the world and everyone who spoke fondly of it was a sheltered sociopathic wiener sucker?
    Never experienced it, but I knew one guy who got to eat a pretty big meal of it, and he preferred to spend his free time tending to his flower garden and raising cats. I guess people deal with getting blown up and watching people get turned into hamburger in different ways.

    One thing he said that stuck with me is that most people who experience war in the world don't have a choice in the matter, they're civilians who are in a market which gets hit by a suicide bomber or a missile. So the idea that you have to become a soldier to get some grand insight on the reality of war is bullshit.

    There's a story in the NYT right now about Russian soldiers in Bucha who had killed civilians. There were a bunch of cameras in the neighborhood that filmed these paratroopers rounding up the young men in the neighborhood and shooting them in the head. That kinda thing happens in war, but there's also footage of an older woman on a bicycle who was heading home from work, and she turn the corner and there was a Russian armored vehicle that just immediately blasted her, blew her leg off, she died. The paratroopers were all young guys in their late teens / early twenties basically, just morons who probably weren't even told they were going to be fighting a war until they were given the orders to cross the border.

    🙁

      Sauce on the Bucha cameras? I had thought it was another obvious false-flag akin to Assad's "gassing his own civilians" shenanigans, but if there are cameras Id be very interested in checking them out.
