Robbie Williams

>most successful solo artist of all time in the UK
>also popular in europe, latin america and aus/NZ
>completely unheard of in america

Why is this?

    >UK Gordon Ramsay
    >tries to be reasonable
    >focus is on the business, less on the drama
    >very little manipulation from sound track or tacky handholding; lets the audience decide what they think of things

    >US Gordon Ramsay
    >makes pretty much no effort to be reasonable; jumps straight to treating them like the scum of the earth who should hurry up and kill themselves, and is always looking to pick a fight (clearly not due to a difference in attitude, like some people claim; some of the absolute dumbest, most selfish, most ridiculous arrogant and lazy people from his shows are from UK KN, and he gives them far more respect than they deserve)
    >BLEEP
    >orchestra blaring in the background, trying to dictate what the audience should feel at any given scene
    >feels like reality TV

Why are US Gordon Ramsay shows so terrible?

americans need it to be more goyslopified to consume it

        >>most successful solo artist of all time in the UK
        that never happened
        >and aus/NZ
maybe popular to teenage girls and homosexuals. everyone else didn't give a shit.

most americans are stupid. only a small percentage of them have any sense, and they usually leave the country to live in a place that's less shit, containing less to no americans.

Different cultural tastes. Like how British viewers rejected Seinfeld in the 90s despite it being the most popular comedy show in the US.

    >most successful solo artist of all time in the UK
I doubt he is more successful than Elton John

      or Paul McCartney

Was Paul even that successful with his solo stuff? I figured it was B-tier material and people just wanted him to play Beatles stuff.

Doesn't answer my question. People are seeing him for his Beatles songs, not his solo stuff.

Because most British people think he's a homosexual

This has not always been the case. People loved this dude 20 years ago.

Same thing with Oasis, the same people that slag them off now were totally "madferit" in the mid nineties...

that "feel" song 100% got a little bit of play on the radio, but not quite as much as "millennium" or "angels" (which really didn't get very much play at all - they weren't exactly big hits)

oh shit yeah I remember hearing millennium on some compilation CD I had as a kid. wonder why this guy never made it big over here, definitely offering at least as interesting pop as our stars.

not clear. he definitely got marketed at the time. just lacked a certain something that americans like in their stars i guess.

As far as singles go in the UK, Paul is #18 and Robbie is #32. As far as global record sales, Paul is #60 with 66.6 million, and Robbie #110 with 55.9 million. Elton John dwarfs them in both cases

His popularity in the UK and Europe was somewhat organic, stemming from being the most charismatic one in Take That

in the US however, without that context, he's just some guy

Because he made boring music for middle aged mothers and at the time the US was all about alt rock and bubblegum pop. If he came out nowadays he'd probably be huge since Harry Styles, Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran all are.

he's for like uk wine aunts to lust over and he has this odd christian thing going on

as usual the reason is boring and just a reflection of good/bad business decisions
    >rock dj was his biggest song by a mile
    >it's definitely in the vein of american disco hits
    >didn't get released in america as a single
it was getting tons of play on MTV and instead of capitalizing on that... nothing
