I like both Ride and Slowdive but MBV also basically invented the genre. Probably listen to more of both those bands even but doesn't change that. People need to learn about more than 3 shoegaze bands though.
Cuz they are just kinda boring compared to Slowdive or MBV. Ride feels more like your typical Britpop with some shoegaze coating, but it doesn't really feel like shoegaze. Not to say they are bad, I enjoy Ride, but they are kinda mid. Also, Souvlaki solos all Ride's discography
The Album with the waves on it is a favorite for me and my friend. I'd put them as about equal alongside Drop Ninteens First Album,The First Two Medicine Albums,The First Two Boo Radleys Albums, and various shit by LUSH. The slander of MBV us assanine though.
They used to be considered the #2 but over time people have started to prefer Souvlaki to Nowhere. Lush is also becoming more popular it seems. More dream pop style shoegaze just might be what the nu gaze fans want more. You also dont see much discussion about more harder edged shoegaze bands like Curve, Swervedriver, Medicine, Catherine Wheel as much as Slowdive, MBV, Lush

You are wrong. It's because Ride basically killed themselves with their two shite jangle britpop albums aka Carnival and Tarantula. If they went with something like of Definitely Maybe or Blur first record, hell even in the vein of Suede's first two albums (I mean instrumentally), they would be much bigger band.
I love Going Blank Again and all but it really feels like a pop/shoegaze fusion more than straight up shoegaze. Slowdive is really boring most of the time
this but the complete opposite of what you said. also ur stinky.

Why do zoomers underrate Ride so much?
Anti rockist, and theyre one of the more growly sounding gazers

I disagree. Maybe from a shoegazing standpoint they're not as inventive with the pedals but they also do have some excellent riffs.

Going Blank Again > any other shoegaze album, ever
Lush > all
For me, it's classic 80s noise pop and all shoegaze sucks
Give some examples

Jesus and the Mary Chain, Galaxy 500
Mbv and slowdive never wrote anything so hard as Drive Blind
it's about the peak not the average
the closing out songs is my favorite part of their work
I'll say that Ride's art direction is better than those two
for me its bandwagonesque by teenage fanclub
based. scottish indie scene had so much kino. Belle and Sebastian, Teenage Fanclub, Postcard Records, etc.
Leave them All Behind was their peak
ride > mbv > not listening to music > slowdive

It's all about songs. Both bands have many 10/10 shoegaze songs.
