Question for shia and sunni Muslims alike. Enlighten me on marifat. How does one achieve it? What does it do? What is it? And if you can, also give me resources to read up on it. I believe this topic is mainly shia.

All Sunni Muslims should belong to a Tariqa and perfect their faith by the Shaykh's guidence.

Salafis are to Islam what KJV only Baptists are to Christianity.

Doesn’t exist in Islam, if you want sufi fairytales to boost your ego go ask your local grave worshiper. In islam the message is clear and known - tawheed. Claiming otherwise implies the prophet withheld his knowledge .

This. You guys think that the prophets got their visions from some sort of cheat code that they typed in... They only became prophets because they worshipped God alone even if nobody else did; not because they were smart or handsome
So if you want to get the knowledge they had, I'd start by doing what all Muslims do: study the Quran. The Quran doesn't contain secret knowledge, but it contains the framework for all knowledge

Depends on which Sufi lodge that you are a part of because they all pretty much have their own rituals/answers.

In the traditional schools of Sunnis and Twelver Shi'ites the goal is to achieve ihsan, which is to worship Allah as if you could see him, a harmonious perfection of both Islam (worship and outwards expressions of faith) and Iman (faith itself and true creed).
